Really happy for you that you have been working on your mental health. I still struggle a lot with panic attacks but I’m also doing better this year with my new position working at a Zoo in the education department, giving kids the opportunity to have first hand experience with exotic animals. It’s such a wonderful feeling to feel that growth. I hope it’s not weird to say I am proud of you! Keep on being a class act!
You are not only a GREAT fisherman you are also just a wonderful person Carl!! Always fun to watch you buddy keep up the amazing content, and enjoy your success, you deserve it!!
These update videos are such a joy to watch, Carl. You have and continue to do so much for the fishing community. Congratulations on all that you've achieved do far. Looking forward to the next!
Great update video carl. Persistence pays off in the end. It's also great to hear your anxiety and panic attacks are improving. I also suffer from anxiety in different ways to you, but I feel your pain. It's great to hear you're working through it 😊
In my teenage years I always fished tiny rivers that you could jump over and yes, in winter, quality roach dace and chub could be caught. Miss those times, so thanks for this video...you make an old man happy!
Excellent! Thank you for this on a Saturday evening. So glad Naomi is out more and enjoying our passion of fishing. I like being a patreon and get to see all the early releases.
you should try tallington, best lure fishing in the uk, gin clear to see takes and is never fished as its waterskiing complex. every time i go its pure action all day, summer il lose count of the pike, even in mid winter with clear water on sunny day il have 10 to 15 pike.
Really enjoyed this video and want to add how brave of you to describe your anxiety!! Getting to grips with it younger, rather than older, is definitely the way to go. Having someone like OMI with you is the best help ever as no matter how you tackle your mental health, she will be empathetic rather than judgmental. Thanks for sharing 👍👏
Really enjoyed the update format, plus your day reflected most people’s reality for a winter river session (except for the cracking chub!) - great video
If I could like this video 100x over I really would. What a great video. Felt with things just like him. Panic attacks and anxiety. What really helps is going fishing keeping fit and being in fresh air.
The positive and honest vibe of this video warms the heart. It really is the antidote to all the media-driven madness of the times. You and your team make thousands smile Carl😎Thank you🍻🍻
Carl you could film 50 blank fishing days and I would never get tired of your photography and video editing skills .A great snapshot of your life and I really appreciate you posting about your mental health I,m in my sixties and still struggle with crowds and an inability to filter noise ,glad you are coming to terms with it and keep on posting about it it really helps mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙂
Respect for talking about panic attacks, i struggle about 25y with it now on and off. So i feel you. Fishing makes this all go away and give me the strength to fight again the next days
"And then, just as I was about to give up...I got snagged and then gave up" 😂😂😂😂😂 Then...you raised the subject of your mental health, that's a massive thing to talk about Sir. I respect and appreciate you for it. I have anxiety a lot around people, especially crowds.
Another great video - love that you got your brother into the freezing koi pond 👍 and massive points for the car too. Really hope you go from strength to strength so we keep seeing your achievements
What a great video Carl! , the 360 camera is a great idea for filming underwater! I hope you have a great Easter , and a good week! Keep up the great work!
Carl was amazing to see you at the Essex carp show and again a few weeks later at the big one, thank you again for signing your book for my two boys even the older one has started subscribing and watching your videos so thank you again to you, omi and Tom tight lines 🎣🎣
Some of my absolute favourite fishing spots are literally storm-drains and sullage-ponds. One is very much like the small river you fished at 13:30. They tend to hold mostly tilapia, which are a massive pest problem here. The funny thing is that while most of the water depths are only around 2-3 feet at most, they hold some fairly large fish, with many reaching the 40+cm mark. It's also right beside a bust suburban road, so I get lots of joggers and dog-walkers stopping by to have a chuckle at the beardy-man fishing in a puddle who are often rather shocked at the contents of my bucket. This is just that much more evidence, to me at least, that you can never ignore ANY body of permanent water in your area, because you just never know, until you've had a good dig through it.
Great Video Carl. I know exactly how you feel. Im suffering panic attacks for 13 years now. Sometimes theyre just horrific. I think a lot of people underestimating how bad and stressful mental illness can be, especially the part you mentioned in this video (remembering your body that hes safe) Fishing and spending time with my wife are my safe places :) wish you the best for your future carl.
My local little river gave me my PB chub and pike in February; they’re awesome. I think it’s easier to find the fish as the features are more obvious and accessible. Great video Carl. 👍
Great channel. My 12 year old son is a big fan. I bought the book and picked it up in Australia and brought it back to him in Trentino, Italy. He's ticked off a few species already, including a few good Pike in a tiny pond nearby, Chub, Carp and more.
There is a river like me almost exactly the same as this. Two in fact! Can’t wait until the season is open again, going to have a good go at them now having watched this. Cheers Carl!
Love your content! Such a humble guy too😊. Can't wait to see what spring brings! I'll be getting my rods out of retirement this month and having a go on my local rivers and ponds!
I'm going on an upcoming overnight trip to the river ebro in spain with monster carp and this video is just the biggest boost and reminder. Have a great day, keep up the good content!🎣
Hey man, great to see local guys on youtube. I definitely resonate with the anxiety side of things. I've only been fishing once (bar childhood adventures) and i've found fishing to be great to get me out of the house. Which has now led me to you guys. Hopefully catch you around now i'm starting to adventure out the house.
Absolutely love your content! So easy to watch and I’ve not long found your channel so plenty to catch up on! Keep it up and I’ll keep my eyes peeled for you or Alex on my local lakes and rivers
Cracking video buddy and also sharing your lows with the highs ……. Sharing is caring and us anglers are the best therapy ……. Loving the channel s always and you enjoy and all the best 👍🥰😁
Great video. I didn't get my first panic attack until my 40s, and it sucked, big time. Good job working on yourself. You won't be sorry! I love tiny streams and hope someday to catch a fish in England.
Cheers Eric. Yes, they can happen at anytime in life - it's important to talk about it, thanks for sharing. Exactly :) happy to discover there are ways to overcome panic and help the body feel safer, and process whatever is causing them. All the best to you. Yes, hope you to get to come over here one day!
Thank you for another quality video Carl an I have to say it was great to see you overcome anxiety I know just how you feel as I actually suffer with it but unfortunately it's taking over my life I've lost my job as a result of it and now can't even go to the shops in fact it's got so terrible I can't even manage to go to the hairdressers I've now started cutting my own hair as I can't bring myself to go there as the last time I went I actually had a panic attack in the seat an had to leave so if possible could you please do a short video on how you overcome anxiety if you can't I totally understand an I'm sorry for asking. anyways please keep up the awesome content look forward to seeing your next video
Quite enjoyed this video on the walk to the tackle shop. I love fishing on small bits of water for the silvers but on the big stretches of water and lakes hold some really nice big roach and different kind of silvers. Keep up the videos I really enjoy watching them 👍
Of all your videos it's the small rivers that got me subscribed, the ones that are truly a thrill. Small rivers, big surprises! Please can I have some more Sir!!
Another quality video Carl. Glad you working so hard on your own mindset. It was really nice to meet yourself, Omi and Cal at the show. (Even better that I made it in this video 😁) just a shame you made me feel so short lol. We will look forward to your next fishing adventure.
Great video Carl and just watched Tom's video too which has some of that in this and can't wait to see more from the 360 camera good luck and tight lines

Only just started watching your videos recently but it's given me the drive to get back into fishing again, ordered a little whip rod for my little brother and sister to try too! Just can't wait to get back on the banks 😅 cheers for the inspiration mate!
Your such a wholesome young man. If you ever find yourself in cornwall, hit me up, there's plenty of carp lakes around here brother, and we could always sea fish too
Great video Carl very humble fisherman😂😂 me: it was THISSSS big! hahah😂 wondering if you’ve ever fished the wandle in london that’s where I fish 😂 keep it up Carl 😊

Fantastic video Carl! Congratulations to your girlfriend on getting her license. And hats off to you for getting her her first car. As for small streams.. never pass them up. I got my new pb opening day in our trout fishing season on April 1st. I landed a nice 17 inch long 5.5 pound speckled trout in a small stream on the side of the road. The 360 fish cam is amazing. Keep up the great content Carl. Cheers!
Carp fisherman and social anxiety go hand in hand mate, I struggle with the same thing you do. But the silver lining is it draws us to the beautiful wild places we've grown to love to be. Glad you're getting better with it and best wishes
White springs fishery in South Wales would be a good challenge next, some very nice 5lb + perch and some 40+ lb carp in the specimen lake, lovely scenery too for the shots and backdrops lol
What a refreshing change to watch a young modern Angler who knows how to catch fish other than Carp, and doesn't always need three rods with bite-alarms. A short Tutorial dedicated to using Baitrunner Reels would be useful, Hint, Hint!😉

What a refreshing change to watch a young modern Angler who knows how to catch fish other than Carp, and doesn't always need three rods with bite-alarms.
A short Tutorial dedicated to using Baitrunner Reels would be useful, Hint, Hint!😉
