Fishing For A NEW PB - Searching for a MONSTER Bream!
For this latest episode we head to a near 100 acre gravel pit with one aim, to break one of our long standing PB's.
With nearly 100 acres of water it was certainly going to be a challenge, but one we believed would be worth it, if we put the rod hours in.
To find out a exactly how we got on and if we managed to break a long standing PB, then watch the latest episode from the waters edge…
As usual we hope you enjoy it and any feedback is always much appreciated.

Love big bream. Best session last year over two days 183kg with 12 doubles. Best tip fish when the weather is unsettled up and down on the barometer.
I won my section there, I was 11 or 12 I think. About 6lb of Skimmers and a few roach. Open ended feeder into about 18 foot of water. I was overawed. Tis a great venue. 👍
Ahh excellent stuff mate! I think it used to hold a good few matches. We loved our sessions there and will definitely be back. 😊

Excellent stuff mate! Really inspirational. Bream are on of my favourite fish to catch
Thanks as always for watching mate, glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Great video. I thought you Norwich boi's just needed to sit in an old wooden punt on a misty lake to bag up on double figure bream 😃
Haha, now what a video that is (Perhaps one of the best ever filmed? Certainly my favourite Go Fishing!) Would love to re-create that one day. 😆 Thanks for the watching too, glad you enjoyed the video. 😊🎣
Great honesty
Thanks for watching mate. 😊🎣
Well done,what a fantastic PB
Thanks mate. 😊🎣
Nice video :)
Thanks for putting the efforts in.
No worries at all mate, thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. 😊
'Make sure you wheel the pump up' 🤔😂
Yep! 😂
New sub here, and my self to break a pb this year on a new water, really enjoyed this, and all makes sense, big Bream are not easy to catch.
Great video 👍 I'll have to go and try out that lake one day
Cheers Steve and yes, give it a go! 😊🎣
Great result,
Thanks for watching mate. 😊🎣
Bit confused here. I think there's some confusion as to how the scales are being read. 11.36 for the first fish was given as 11lb 3oz yet the pb was 11.14 given as 11lb 14oz. There was a fish showing 9.10 on the scale given 9lb 1oz. 11.14 is actually 11lb 2 and a bit ounces
Hi Johnny, I spoke to Steve about this, I think he said there's two ways of reading them (or two different settings like you mentioned). I think he realised this as we went through the session and changed them so they weighed as they should. I must admit I didn't notice at the time!
A large Bream is a magnificent beast I'm always happy with any bream over 5 IB Congrats on your PB full marks thanks for posting kind regards Mr D👍
Thanks as always for watching and for taking the time to drop us a comment. Glad you enjoyed it. You're right too... a large Bream is impressive! 😊🎣
you're living the bream life mate.dont mind a nice bream on my feeder, just hate the snotty buggers on the carp gear lol no fight
Haha, you are right there mate... they aren't ideal once you've taken lots of time and effort to get your carp rods out. But when you target them, they can be great fun. 😊
Great video, where is the venue guys
Deserved success for persistence - well done. Inspires me to try again for a monster bream in an estate lake close to where I live, as there are certainly fish to 15lb there, but very few. I have hoped to get one while after carp, but although some accidental specimen tench have come my way the bream have eluded me - do you think carp techniques could work and why didn't you get any carp or tench on your bream quest? Where there none in the water?
Give it a go Julian! 😊 Carp tactics would definitely work, am sure the local carp anglers probably catch lots and considered them a pest! The water is HUGE and very low stock for Carp and Tench, thats why we didn't encounter any I think. Thanks for watching and good luck on your quest!
What is the test curve of your rods?
26:55 You said it's your new pb but in 12:21 the bream was 11.36... Am I missing something. Congrats anyway!!! :)
Steve had some scales issues, he didn't change the settings until we were into the session. That's why they read a little differently. (I didn't realise either!) Thanks for watching and for taking the time to drop us a comment. 😊
It makes a refreshing change to hear a well known Angler actually consider the Cost of the Bait they are using like we mere mortals do so, they usually just launch it out by the bucket load. Though I still don't understand why anyone would willingly target Bream, they don't fight and just roll-over and give up, unlike the scrap I had with a little 2½ lb Crucian this week, it takes all sorts!🤣👍
But a PB Gudgeon is still a thing
Haha, each and everyone to their own, like you say! Thanks as always for watching though. 😊
The "ocean pit" ... 100 acres stocked hole in the ground... 😂
My local fishing is Lough Gara.... 5 THOUSAND acres !! 😏
Haha, brilliant! 😂😂😂
Spodding bait out, on a closed lk is awesome 👌. Tho , when you are fishing. On a lk that has turbine dames, top & bottom. Don't wrk that much. As YOU can't know, when thay switch them on . Especially when you are fishing lks, that are 50 to 85ft deep. As your spod mix will just drift away, any ideas. As I have been using large P.V.A bags ( 6oz fully loaded) with a 2.5oz running weight. Any ideas 🤔 , as they would be well appreciated. FYI I live in B.C 🇨🇦
We love spodding! 😆 Have a look at the Korum Bopper, it's like a spod but delivers the bait on the bottom. It's ideal for flowing water or deep water.
Thanks for watching too, its nice to hear from you all way over in BC! 😊
Great video. Are you now sponsored by Korum
We are producing some video's for Korum, yes. 😊 If you watch the start of our most recent Tench fishing video it will explain all.
Which test curve rod is it mate?
Hi James, I'm pretty sure it was the 2.5lb model from Korum, but I'll double check with Steve for you. 😊
Was the sling zeroed?
Yes mate.
Can smell the fuckimg thing through the screen 🤮
😂😂
