    Most of the pilots take their radio transmitters as closed systems. But modern radio transmitters have features that allow you to tune how they feel in your fingers. Literally! Do you know that you can adjust the tension, drag, and centering strength of the gimbals? All you have to do is to turn some small screws inside! Gimbal adjustment is more important than you might think!
    The radio in this video is Radiomaster TX16S bit.ly/3ec59j1 and bit.ly/3JaSH1T

    I feel like there is a hitch in the middle. It is not a smooth transition I’m guessing that tells you it’s center. But it’s a delay being new my brain stops right there it’s a hard stop out of the box. It is super strong and I have the upgraded aluminum gimbals not the normal ones. It’s just super noticeable like stepping in a hole when walking

    I am planning to tighten the tension on my X9D.
    I will mark the screw with a marker an make a photo to have a reference point.
    In addition both sticks (and more important each axis) will be very consistent.

    Pawel, have you made a video about setting up your radio with a self centering throttle (DJI Style you called it in the T18 teardown) and the adjustments needed in Inav to fly in that mode. I would prefer the quad I am building for photography flies the same as my Mavic Air if possible. I had no luck searching on RUclips for a video. Thanks for your excellent Inav video series, they are helping me a lot.

    Radio master TX12 MKII has a slightly different mechanism and for loosening the tension, you go counter clockwise and for increasing the tension you go clockwise - if this helps someone

    If the throttle needed to be centred and spring loaded to the same tension as the right hand stick in mode 2, can you show how this is done?

  • @WinstonSmith1984
    @WinstonSmith1984 7 месяцев назад

    If you're satisfied with a certain tension, then perhaps buy a cheap dynanometer to measure it and then use that to quickly set your new radios to that measured tension.

    i actually find the stock tensions on the TX16S (for me) to be just about right

    I have just gotten a tx16s markii and have been flying around in liftoff for about 20 hours so far.
    I know I’m not good enough to care about these things but almost immediately I detentions the sticks so much that they center constantly but barely.
    I found almost immediately that I hate the bump when moving the stick. I may try to increase the tension some, my yaw axis needed to be increased a bit after going this. Still playing around with it though.

    I wish i could tune the GIGANTIC stick throw of the TX16S. Only thing thats keeping me from using it. Personal preference thing i know, but the Tango II is a little to small, and the Jumper stick throw is just right. (same on T16 and T18)

    • @tumblew33d
      @tumblew33d 4 года назад

      I like short throw, coming from xlite. I'm trying 5mm spacers to drop the pivot point of the gimbals a bit but I've seen a video of someone installing printed throw limiters I'd like to try.

    • @FPVUniversity
      @FPVUniversity  4 года назад +1

      It's all a personal preference. I, for example, like longer throw and even usually I extend sticks to have it even longer

      I thought the same thing with my new Tango 2 but then I adjusted them out and it is very comfortable now.

      Paweł Spychalski great video, since we’re talking spacers... saw a qx7 with raised gimbals, he said for pinch style, can that be done to the tx16s? Brings the pots up, changing pivot.

    • @tumblew33d
      @tumblew33d 3 года назад +1

      @@c_labb9247 I have a qx7s as well as xlite. Gimbals in the tx16s are higher than the qx7. I doubt they could be raised any higher.

    great video. What type of gimbals are those? Ive seen other videos on the radiomaster and the gimbals look different inside

  • @jandeboer
    @jandeboer 2 года назад

    Adjusting the stick tension on the Radiomaster TX16S MK2 is done from the front of the case with adjusting the hex screws in the gimbals. (no need for removing the back)

    • @FPVUniversity
      @FPVUniversity  2 года назад

      Only as long as you have the correct gimbals.

      The tension of an unsprung throttle has to be adjusted from the rear of the gimbal assembly.

    Great video ! Question.... I noticed my hall effect gimbals seem to be soft towards the most outside edge of travel 1/16" or so ? Is this normal ? Could they be adjusted mechanically ? Also.... How often do you recommend doing calibration feature on tx ?

    • @FPVUniversity
      @FPVUniversity  3 года назад

      This you can not really adjust without adding extra tension. For hall gimabls, calibration once a fear should be enough
