I use a Fire 7 (12th gen) as my dedicated reading device, and I absolutely adore it. The Kindle App experience is flawless for me, and I really like using the white text on black background for my kindle books. I strongly prefer it over the display settings offered by my kindle paperwhite, which I no longer use. For PDF format books I use Moon+ Reader, which also provides a great reading experience. Whether I'm reading PDF, kindle books, epub, or a web article, this tablet is fantastic. I probably spend 3+ hours per day reading on it during the workweek (an hour before work, during my hour lunch, and an hour or more before sleep), and up to 7 or 8 during weekends. It's comfortable to hold, durable, the battery lasts forever, the screen is nice and provides excellent contrast for text, and it is very lightweight. It fits in my workbag, in my hiking pack, and on my nightstand without taking much space at all. I own about 270 books downloaded on it, and I use Libby (sideloaded off Silk browser) to borrow e-books from my local library. I can borrow, read, and return library books all on one device!! The storage capacity is mind-boggling for a reading tablet. Up to 1000GB of expandable storage equates to literally tens of millions of books, meaning that for my purposes it is utterly impossible for me to run out of space. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this tablet.
Considering picking one up but probably wait until next month to see if there's a sale on Black Friday mainly going to use it to read Manga. Phone screen now days are 20:9 which is too narrow to read Manga a 16:9 7in screen is perfect.
I'm actually getting tempted to buy one but I already got the Fire 10 HD 7th generation the Fire Tablet 8 7th generation and I might be getting this but I'm actually stopping myself and save myself some money....but is less that $50.00 I mean, its a good investment... Right!? Or I'm just wasting money on this?
I use my Fire 7 a lot for reading long form articles. I have a real Kindle for books. My mom's Fire 8 from at least 5 years ago still runs fine. Sure it's slow but she's ok with it. Even Instagram works fine on it. Cheers.
I was tempted I have a Fire TV and 3 Echos but I replaced my old Kindle with a new Paperwhite. It's such a pleasure to read on. A great feature on both is USB - c charging no need to keep track of specific cables.
The best idea I could say is to hook it to my lawn mower as it will control it automatically to do my whole entire lawn but it's still not invented yet so I'll wait until Jeff bonzo's has that to that device with the lawn mower. I can imagine myself already outside yelling at the lawn mower left right straight and it just goes and cuts the grass

I bought the Fire HD 8 for this last year. I wish I bought 7 coz it would be lighter despite lower resolution screen
To me the biggest down side was the charging port but now that it's the new type C it's perfect for watching movies and doing light stuff for cheap.

I have a fire 7 but Unable to double click after I enter the pin number I put in. How do you double click?
