I really love my Fire 7. I’ve got nearly 250 books on mine. The tablet is small enough to fit in my work bag and I bought a real durable case as well as a padded sleeve to keep it safe throughout the day. I work about 90 hours per week, so I don’t get much time to do things I like. But, I do get one hour for lunch each day, and having this tablet has significantly improved the quality of my days. I love reading a bit with my morning coffee before I leave for work, during my lunch hour, and for a few minutes in bed before I fall asleep. The battery is astoundingly good. I keep my tablet on airplane mode, with battery saver on, and brightness pretty low and it seems to just last forever. The days I read the most, which is during my offday on Sunday, I get about 5 or 6 hours of reading in. In all of that, the battery might drop to around 80 percent. I am very happy with this reading tablet.
I got it for $9.68 after trading in my old kindle fires I had laying around and taking advantage of the sale price they have on it currently. I use it for audibles and also for keeping my current cross stitch or knitting pattern on. The small size makes it incredibly portable for my purse or knitting bag. For the way I use it, it’s perfect…I can pull it out and watch a Prime Video while at a coffee shop, and it connects to my apple air buds just fine, so I’m happy. For anything more than this, I use my ipad or my Samsung Galaxy Tab. But for less than $10, I’m a happy camper.
The absolute best thing about Amazon e-readers and tablets that keeps them in top tier position is just that: The trade-ins Which stack on top of sales. I'm ordering right now the latest Paperwhite Signature Edition + Amazon Case for $112 and receiving it later today. The trade-in + 20% off discount + sales price savings = major win
I did similar.Traded in some older Fire Tablets and paid $11 and change for this one. Makes a great E-Reader and fits into pockets to read or watch media on trains and planes. The only required option is a nice pair of Bluetooth earbuds.
A good review but your point at 6.00 about the pixel per inch count only working because the screen is small is false. The whole point of pixel per inch resolutions is that they are independent of the screen size. A 179 ppi on a 7" screen would not look more pixelated on a larger screen with the same ppi. If the larger screen had the same 1024x600 resolution it would look more pixelated, because it would have a much lower ppi.
Thanks for the review Peter. I have the previous generation 7 and really do like it. At this price, I may upgrade for the USB C charge port and the bump in RAM since the device is already pretty inexpensive. 😏
I've just downloaded a magazine from kindle unlimited and don't know how to return it. I pressed on it like you do for a book but it doesn't show up to return it Amazon. Can anybody help me
Mine tends to lose about 30-40% after reading for around 2 hours on full brightness. Definitely put it on airplane mode when you read and it lasts MUCH longer
I bought this today. Boy what a disappointment. There is no difference from this and the 2015 model. The same boring interface. it keeps crashing when i try to download my ebooks. i been trying for 5 hours now. Silk browser is a joke. Like reading on a flip phone.
i had a fire tablet and literally i hated it, i liked android tablets more thn tht and browsing was so hard i was one of those guys who were confused at first tht it was an ereader 😂

I'm still using the 2019 fire 7 tablet.

The surface area of the bezel is bigger than the display itself! Damn, is it really a 2022 tablet?!
I read my ebooks on it just fine.

How long the battery will last for reading ebook ?

Can you use it as a dedicated Alexa device?
$39.99 on sale now
Amazon’s naming conventions are so hard to follow. It’s always “all new”
I guess this is considered a portable alexa
My current Fire 7 is the 2015 edition. Maybe I should consider the new generation.
I was in the same boat, I traded it in and got this one for $24 total shipped and tax.
the newest gen Fire 7 is fantastic. Did you make the upgrade?
@@enzoswoodshop1052 Not yet.
Good Job
Hmm ... prime day is coming, so maybe its a good time to update kids tablet.
One of the best reviews I think you've done in a long time, what a shame the product is Grade A **** (not a good word)

£50. Can't go far wrong for that.

With good reason, it was called the "Kindle Fire" for quite some time
You’re not the only one, I hated seeing my dad buy one of these thinking it was a reader.
@@lockedine my father also bought it thinking tht 😂😂 I was also confused at start
VERY UNHELPFUL IT'S OBVIOUSL WHO YOU ARE WORKING FOR
I'm not sure what you're talking about. Why are you using caps?
And who is it obvious that we're working for?
