- As much as Marvel glorifies its more famous superheroes, it is quite surprising how neglected they have been towards a hero who is known to hold “the power of one million exploding suns”. It is none other than the Sentry. Don’t feel guilty if you can’t seem to recall this superhero because Marvel has not exactly done a lot of justice to him.
In fact, he is probably the only Marvel superhero whose existence was wiped out from the entire history of the Marvel Universe, leaving him forgotten even by Spiderman and Professor Xavier. With a superhero stance similar to that of Superman, Sentry has yet to receive the glory he deserves. Created by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee with uncredited conceptual contributions by Rick Veitch, we will be exploring the journey of the most underrated Marvel superhero in this video.

I knew the Sentry existed but never knew how strong he was till I read World War Hulk. When you go toe to toe with an enraged Hulk that withstood a scream from Blackbolt and almost stretched Mr Fantastic to death you know you’re on god level status.
Wasn't the real Blackbolt. Was a super skull
and Blackbold's powers could not be properly copied.
Hulk has held back in the fights.

WWH wasn't holding back. Until the end of the fight when he chose to stop fighting and it ended in stalemate.
Check out Starbrand. He tossed Hulk into outer space by accident with no effort.

I had a habit of overanalyzing things and I was always irritated by that somehow the Justice League got defeated by anyone. Flash can move faster than light! Who is ever going to touch him?! Then you have Marvel, who's Marvel's Flash... Quicksilver with a max speed of like 70 MPH pre MCU
Super strength, immortality, super speed, invulnerability, control of molecular matter and energy, omega level telepathy and telekinesis, necromancy, Teleportation, etc, etc. Like the Pre-CRISIS Superman, it gets to the point where it might be more fair to say that his power is actually Reality Warping.

Considering Sentry's serum was made from some of the Beyonder's energy and what he did to Molecule Man, I'd say he's definitely a reality warper.

Thinking of Sam Raimi, Mike Flanagan, Gareth Evans, Robert Rodriguez, Erik Matti, Eli Roth, a couple horror creators for the Sentry film.
Honestly instead of introducing the Sentry as a man who remembered of once being the greatest superhero in the Marvel Universe Paul Jenkins should have told his story of how he turned himself from a pathetic drug addict to the Golden Guardian of Good, that would be a better way to introduce the Sentry and a much better story to read IMO.
This character should've been a one time off with a linear story and progression

Definitely I hope they make a film of the Sentry this character is very fascinating and cool another character that deserves a film is Blue Marvel so hopefully in the future these two awesome characters get their own film but man the Sentry is definitely a phenomenal character.

I have never liked Sentry and never liked any Superman analog. I'm not really a big Superman fan. Until I got older and learned to respect the character. But if they get Eric Northman to play Sentry that would be a perfect casting.
Sentry is my personal favourite Marvel hero he’s awesome and I love his battle between the evil Void it’s an interesting and entertaining to see him fight his inner demons

The Sentry is pretty much the _definition_ of OP. He seemingly has all the physical superpowers, has mental superpowers, has energy manipulation, can warp reality, can heal people, and even raise the dead. He's literally so OP that his only weakness is himself! Some of his powers are limited because he doesn't fully know how to use them, and has an unstable psyche. Dayum!
It would take a good writer to make a compelling story with him, and would have to go beyond just slugging it out with a villain. I'd be interested in it.
lemaire wrote a really good run on sentry+ he has a new villain added to the rogue gallery, scout who used to be sentrys sidekick.

Sentry is Nuclear Man from Superman2. He was created just to give Marvel a stronger hero than DC. He was created simply to "destroy Superman". Then they didn't know what to do with him after that.

We need new comic writers to write a new Sentry arc but they need to revive him since he was killed by Knull during King in Black.

The world needs to remember Peter Parker. Because all the reasons. Dr Strange needs to undo his mass memory wipe spell, which undoes previous mind wipe spells. Sentry being one of them. Sentry, being the Angel of Death, was a force of nature, so forgetting about him created a void which craved all the lives that went unclaimed in that time

@@teriyakisauce7320 yes, but that's only because Donny Cates hates the character, and blocks people who question him about it on Twitter. That and Knull was still connected to Knowhere's body, he was only hurt after that connection was severed. Also, Donny Cates has always been stupid to the fact that Sentry and Void are both Bob. He literally turned Venom into Sentry at the end of KiB, after killing him without letting him fight even tho he'd just killed a Celestial, then smeared him throughout the tie ins, then sent him to Valhalla of all places. All that while forcing Jeff Lemire's Sentry run out of continuity, which was toxic and disrespectful to Jeff. And he turned Thor into Sentry in the most recent run. Gave him "The Heat of a Billion Suns". Now that's not as much energy as a million exploding one, but still, you see what he's doing. Thor is yet to surpass The Sentry because of his telepathy, biokinesis, and reality warping. Until Thor can manipulate molecules/warp reality as passively as Sentry does, it's almost impossible for Thor to win against a Stable Sentry.

I hope the M.C.U. version of (SENTRY) storyline is different; For instance the scenario story I imagine, it’s all about an ex-drug addict, who is getting his life together, trying to find a second job to pay his bills, and I imagine he accidentally swallows’s some unknown liquid when trying to save a person’s life.
To add I imagine after (Robert Reynolds Brown) had swallowed the unknown liquid he felt ill, he decided to go home, but he felt to ill to drive his car, and so he had decided to take an Uber, and I imagine he had slept in his bed for two weeks until he had finally woken up.
In addition I imagine after (Robert Reynolds Brown) woke up he felt different, he has a strong feeling something is different about himself, and then he thinks forget about that check how things are doing at the place where he had saved a person.
Most likely if a movie is made, they'll get rid of the drug addiction..🤣

As powerful as Sentry is, let's not forget that Knull killed a celestial with a single attack. It's never been established that Sentry is anywhere near abstract level.
@@justaguy214 Wrong Sentry killed a celestial before trying to fly Knull into orbit and he was once stated to have stalemated galactus and was compared to HOM scarlet witch twice.
After killing a Celestial. That sorry excuse for a WORF effect happened while Knull was still getting amped from Knowhere's body. Knull was only beaten after that connection was severed. That, and Donny Cates wanted to turn Venom into Sentry at the end I guess?. He did the same thing to Thor in the God of Hammers fight. His go to move is to turn people into Sentry lmfaoo. I’d say Blue Marvel is the most powerful, since he’s KO’d both Sentry and Hyperion. Adam’s durability is slightly lower, but he definitely has more offensive power.

The sentry is way more interesting than Superman. If they make a movie about him they need to focus on all of his mental problems, not his powers. The fact that an all powerfull "god" is extremely mentally ill it is just scary and interesting.
