Darwin Origins - This Omega Level Mutant's Body Parts Adapt Into Anything To Keep Him Alive

- Let us ask you this- what do birds, insects, canines & human beings have in common? Was your first thought the fact that they all share life with each other? Okay, think harder. Birds have beaks and we don’t. So surely, they must be an entirely different life form, right? Well, if you said yes to that, then congratulations; you’ve come to the same conclusion as pre-19th century human beings on the subject of genetics and biological evolution. Which, fun fact, was condemned as heresy when it was first discovered! It isn’t an exaggeration to call On the Origin of the Species a seminal piece of literature that has shaped world history unlike any other before or after it. Because how many people can claim to have cracked the very code of human genetics and the secret of all life that populates planet Earth? Charles Darwin is one of the most important figures in recorded history. It’s thanks to him that we can safely tell you that the answer to the question we asked you earlier is they we were all evolved from a common universal ancestor that existed approximately 3.8 billion years ago. In 2006, Ed Brubaker & Pete Woods decided to immortalize The Father of Evolution by introducing him to Marvel readers as a part of the mutant community. Debuting in X-Men: Deadly Genesis Vol 1 issue #2, Darwin has the power to survive any environment he’s exposed to. He’s one of the most durable- and interesting- members of Professor X’s team of Uncanny Mutants. Let’s take a closer look at the man who can adapt to everything; this is Darwin’s Origins, Explored.

14:34 What Makes Darwin Powerful?
17:26 Darwin In X-Men: First Class
18:51 Why Darwin Deserves More Recognition - Развлечения
Darwin literally is a immortal but First Class didn't know that
Fo sho they didn't mane
Maybe he still exists as pure energy haha
They did him so dirty so quick 🤣🤣🤣
But he died in the movie I was disappointed it's probably because of this immortality that made them kill him off in the movie...
Or probably because he was black
who else thinks that Darwin's death in First Class is stupid? the guy can literally adapt to ANYTHING! his powers should have been able to find a way to adapt to Shaw's kinetic energy blast instead of being overloaded by it. They had one of the coolest characters and they killed him off to show how bad Shaw is. waste of a great character.
It is but the biggest plot hole to their immortality is that they can be killed if u can match said immortals power in regeneration in raw brute strength they can be killed
He not immortal however and its just a movie.
who doesn't think its stupid?
If they didn’t kill him then there wouldn’t be any point to anymore cmen movies cause then he can just solo the verse
10:08 he explains it
Kills me how when he fought The Hulk instead of his power like adapting some physical trait or ability to beat The Hulk it just goes "Nope" and teleports him away.
the only way to survive the hulk is to be somewhere else
@John blaze lol right 🤣🤣😅
It's goal is to survive.
Flight or fight response. His instinct was flight, therefore that's why he teleported away. Had he felt the need to fight, he would have adapted to take on the hulk
@@RobbyMeraki1 yet when a death god went at him he evolved into godhood himself
His powers is a definite definition of what a mutant is. 🤣
Isn't this the same x-men that tried fighting the hulk, but was cut very short because his ability teleported him out of the situation, because there is no way his body can adapt fighting the hulk?
It's not that his body couldn't adapt, it just thought the best adaptation would be to teleport away from the Hulk. It was crazy but interesting at the same time, but we've also seen other characters just toy with Hulk too.
@@princeharris2660 thanks for that, I really hate the fact that in x-men: first class when dawin died because I'm pretty sure he could have survived eating havok's energy blast when Sebastien fed it to him
@@mr.hotcupofjoe6414 to be honest I think the writers knew Darwen was OP so they didn't want him to take the spot light by being able to fight everyone without dying. XD
@@Wolfbane1677 They could've just knocked him out in the script or something. This is a issue with the franchise. They only give few characters justice. Iceman, Storm, Colossus, Bishop, Cyclops and many more were never shown even half their potential.
@@princeharris2660 but I've got into a deep debate using Darwin's other feats as example and tbh it's because he couldn't adapt to hulk . Kinda like in dbz where ui last resort is to just sheild you when it knows it might not be able to protect you but it's gonna do it's best ae the sheild or Darwin teleporting . Because why didn't he just turn in a Spector form ? Or like literally pure energy that would counter the hulk ? His ability is limitless shown any other time until it comes to that . Or could it just be the actually entity or being that is hulk Darwin's ability is aware of and knows ultimately it's best choice is to just leave
I remember hearing that in the World War Hulk storyline in the comics, his body realised that the best way for him to survive a fight with The Hulk was...to just not fight The Hulk, so he spontaneously gained the ability to teleport and noped the hell out of there 😂😂
That's awesome
His whole thing is that he can't die. What happens in first movie appearance? He dies 5 minutes after he shows up.
Well he is black....
@@smokindatshit8268 In 60's America no less. Adapt to survive indeed.
Yeah, that legit pissed me off.😂
Yeah I hated that, if he was impervious!
He can die and has in the comics.
I think Marvel can use the First Class move to bring Darwin in to the MCU with the other mutants. 1. Darwin falls into a stone stasis coma , simultaneously protecting against and feeding off of shaw’s energy. 2. With Darwin’s body dependent on energy it reaches out to the energy used when Tony snaps the infinity stones. 3. Upon connecting to the energy, Darwin’s body is recreated in the MCU and activating the mutant gene in the nearby residents.
Still mad how they did him in first class.
Fax, he would be top tier
@ReiZenith then why even introduce him in the movie?
@@noelramirez9532 They were trying to show off that 'Woah this Shaw is too powerful. Able to kill someone supposedly immortal. Someone who's entire purpose is that he can't die.' Really I doubt the person that wrote him in even knew anything about him.
I was annoyed he died
@@123r97 He's literally unkillable. They writer likely knew nothing.
First class did Darwin horribly. He's an underappreciated character,he's awesome.
We not gonna talk about havoc with the hoola hoops? Lol
Can't believe how they did him dirty in X-Men First Class.
Wait... they killed an unkillable character? Lol
Yup, people still use the joke "The first person to die in the movie is literally the unkillable black man."
@@Nyghtking Doesn't matter if your unkillable. If you black then you dead.
@@silverhawkscape2677 Yup, dude could withstand literal death touching him, which should kill literally anything that lives, but nope, some jackass who could manipulate kinetic energy or some shit, was able to do it with no effort.
because he was black....you know how live-actions just LOVE to kill POC, LGBT, etc
@@eren34558 well I guess they wanted an excuse to kill him so they made him black 🤣
Basically the more you throw at him the stronger he gets. Whatever you come up with to kill him his body will adapt. That technically makes him one of the most powerful being in Marvel
the mental gymnastics that were done to kill him off in X-men first class is ridiculous...but suffice to say? they killed the one black dude in the group...and the ONLY other dude to die was the main antagonist....don't you think that's fucked up?
Your right they should have cast a white guy ; p
@@bryansmith1691 you better be joking
Worst part of First Class was killing a mutant that can adapt to anything
Darwin should be made into a horseman of apocalypse and mentored for a period of time by him. It would be awesomely epic
damm . . . that would be awesome
@@knova7597 maybe to make him more op in terms of offensive capabilities, like his powers mostly adapt him to survive, maybe under apocalypse, his powers may adapt to kill/end/eliminate the threat to him not just survive it
Pestilence
honestly its impressive how xmen first class actually killed darwin so easily
That pissed me off.
Technically he could survive that.
We all know why
@@fkmaurice why?
@@brolynips698 Because its a stereotype for Black individuals to die first, usually in horror movies.
@@princeharris2660 So true their kill him off in a stupid way possible
It still irks me that Sebastian Shaw killed this guy pretty quickly in First Class🤦🏾♂️
Yeah and it also bad , for having him to be a taxi cab driver although he should be a high level genius intellect . But yeah that movie did him so wrong and badly. Maybe it because of his skin color.
First Class was an embarrassment
@@gabrielhughes8221 not maybe most definitely
I would like to see him with bishop and cable and a few others on a future team!
the xmen movies killing him was pretty dumb
Those movies were pretty dumb period. Hated them all
That moment you confuse Heresy with hearsay lmfao.
Typical of these recap/explanation channels. They literally do the least amount of research and add words to their scripts when they dnt even kno the word.
You would think that his body would respond to the catastrophic emotional trauma his appearance caused him and he would evolve an aesthetic that met his emotional needs, like many different species of animals on this planet.
He does turn whiter in white neighbourhoods .. guess the writers didn't think of it
@@MONKEYSCHANNEL327 bruh
@@MONKEYSCHANNEL327 💀
You gotta love mcu. Darwin went from omega level to playing with fish in a tank ..
Fox not mcu
thats wasnt the mcu
@@AnjelCaido69 i seriously doubt they got that much creative independence to do everything they want alone without marvels consulting
It was all they could do to justify him losing to Shaw.
@@GothPaoki they had a lot of creative independence, they did own the rights lol
Why does every superhero in the Marvel and DC universe have to have genius level intellect?
Right and at the same time an genius level intellect user some how have to be an taxi cab driver . 🙄😏. The first class movie did him so wrong. It's not even funny
You want dumb heroes?
He evolved that be that smart for the test and stayed that way at the school.
He had above average intelligence, but his powers gave him genius level intelligence in order to fulfil his wish of getting his mother to love him. His mother blamed his mutation in why his father left them, and that was his powers way of keeping him safe: by evolving an ability, that he believed would be useful to his mother, in order to gain her love.
Cause the power is in the mind
First class did him dirty af
Darwin: I adapt to any environment.
MCU: hold my beer
It wasn’t the MCU. it was Sony. But I get your point.
@@mowondifirstborn2780 it was fox not Sony
Morira? Morira McTaggert? Mo-eera?
While I appreciate the pun in you calling her "She will die" (since she's a mutant who can resurrect).. her name is MOIRA. Moira McTaggert.
You literally said it every way but right.
First Class really got him wrong
The concept of his power is amazing.
Darwin should have a son that is beyond omega level and has biokienisis, metamorphosis and everything to do with evolution and be way stronger than his father and can evolve other lifeforms not only mutants
I feel like his kid would be able to actually control which adaptation they wanted to use.
I would love to see this Omega Level version of (Darwin) in a new (X-MEN) cartoon show series.
I bet in the "main", when Thanos snaps, he just reconstitutes right afterwards, that is if his body just rejects/negates the snap altogether. I do also realize that Darwin wasn't in the main....just having fun.
His body could also make an exact copy of itself. One copy is snapped, the other remains. Once snap is undone, they reabsorb eachother
so Darwin's powers allow him to adapt to anything the universe throws at him besides the movie first class which is kinda like he's cryptonite...he's mortal weakness he can't escape
The narrator needs to spend a little time on Google finding out how to pronounce a lot of words. He has a lot of talent but throughout the videos he stumbles over a lot of words. A couple of seconds before recording or rerecording after would make things a lot better for him. I only want the best for his career.
At the beginning of the video he said 'hearsay' which is a word but he was trying to say 'heresy'. The definitions are significantly different. It's kind of odd in his videos he speaks clearly and reads a script, but just randomly pronounces a word like someone who has never heard or spoken English. He should definitely look up any word he is not sure of and hear how it's supposed to be said and make notes. And another thing he needs to work on is pronouncing names of people, places, and things. Before doing any video any character, object of importance, or location should be looked up. Just because you have read it that way in your head for years doesn't mean it's correct.
Uh ohhhh we all know what is really being said..
If its so easy then you do it
This is why you need to have experienced comic book followers on the production team.
So the cocky production team don’t kill off the black hero in 20 minutes of the film.
Bokeem Woodbine would be great to play Darwin in the MCU..
Woulda been cool if he was with Hulk when everyone else died
Do you mean Hulk The End
@@allforone3427 yes
I do not believe in Darwinistic evolution, or evolution of any kind, but I do enjoy the character of Darwin a lot. Probably the most tragic background I've ever heard of in superhero fiction.
Do you believe in any Gods. or pantheism?
@@vaungriffith1289 I believe in a single God.
Well to say Darwin cracked genetics is a bit of a stretch. Humans were breeding dogs, work animals, and crop plant cultivars for many thousands of years before Darwin's birth. These simple agricultural efforts may not have been because the farmers knew what genes were....but they certainly understood characteristics were being passed from generation to generation.
You know that things fall down to earth, but you don't 'know' how it happen, and the whys and hows 'falling down' could happen.
Awesome video!!!
The power of evolution amazing
He looks like he will eventually evolve into the watcher
X-Men first Class really done him dirty, Darwin derserved more recognition in the X-Men films.
Would love to see the MCU have him show up out of nowhere from a ball of energy and say, "had some guy put a ball of energy in my mouth so my body became energy"
Naw I'd rather they just wipe those movies out of existence
Good vid I think you meant Heresy like “hair a see” it means against biblical scripture.
I was outraged when he appeared to be killed. I hope Darwin reappears in the MCU.
wonderful video
they did our boy dirty in first class no question about that comic book darvin would shrug that thing off like nobody bussiness
he could be in stories of beings trying to change and should or should not change and he helps or hurts them depending on who they are to him
Armondo: I'm going to jump and kill myself
His body: Sike your mind!!!
>Darwin gets Hella's - goddess of death- touch of death
>he gets some of her powers and survives
>Sébastien makes Darwin eat a ball of kinetic energy
>*dies*
WHAT?
MCU likes to kill off people of color
Racist movies
They did darwin dirty in the first class movie
I swear i remember another character who was a geneticist who had almost the exact the same powers but was a villian (it wasn't High Evolutionary) and i cant remember where its from. It feels like one of the more short lived comics in marvel. I tried google and i cannot find it. It had to have been maybe 20 years ago?
Think you talking about "Mimic" a mutant who could copy all other mutant powers. Check old xmen comics from 1960s ..plus 1996 I think
I'd post picture here but dk how
Could be Absorbing-Man from Agents of Shield. He doesn't adapt but he can transform his body to any material he wants if he touches it.
So basically darwin is living the life of a normal man in the society, being saw for what he can provide and not what he truly is
Holy shit, he was a afro-latino and with a Hispanic father and black mother.
He didn't die in First Class, his body realized the franchise was about to go down a toilet.
Darwin would be cool in a zombie story because he should be able to survive as a uneffected zombies
🤦♂️ hela and lady death aren't the same person so that thanos comment was both wrong and stupid
He went from op to unda the sea
This was probably Brubaker’s only real lasting or memorable contribution to the X-universe (He did some good work and issues , but his run was meh overall.). God knows that Vulcan sucks (WHY did they bring him back? Whyyyyy?).
Man after knowing what the comics did for him then seeing what the movie did to him, man movie fcked up
When your life weirdly lines up with a comic book character you know your unlucky, fuck me I guess lol.
Completely wasted potential of a character Actually there's so much stuff that could be done with x-men but they were wasted It's clear that Fox had no idea what they were doing
Lol
Marvel could always feature him in a future X-Men movie
It’s kind of ironic that his appearance didn’t change into something more human with all the abuse I mean I’m no expert but wouldn’t it make sense for him to survive longer if people didn’t bully him? It’s like attacking an army soldier dressed in pink camouflage your obviously gonna see him
Lol aahhh yes the unkillable mutant fox killed off
Intro lil slow but good as always
0:59 I think the line in the script was heresy (hair-uh-see, something that goes against religious doctrine), not hearsay (idle speculation)!
I hope they bring him back when the Mutants show up!
The only thing I dont like about this video essay channel is the recaps and repeated information. But its a good channel with alit of stuff I didn't know about
Damn movie pissed me off
Me too.
They did Darwin dirty in that one X-men movie.
The movies did Darwin dirtier than WWE's booking of Finn Balor 😭
Darwin can adapt to any situation but sadly he can't adapt to bad writing 😅
It's funny how Shaw didn't harm "our own kind" even respected Darwin trying to help his team, but made an exception and killed him 😏
Heresy, hair-rah-c. Not hearsay
No judgement btw
got done a bit wrong in the MCU
I hope the MCU somehow rectify what they did to that man. They nerfed him worse than Deadpool on origins
His mouth could have evolved to close before the energy even entered his body lol.
Hey @marvelousVideos can you do a video on one of batman,s great foe's Shiva, copperhead or Branden that would be so savage 😎😎😎
First class did him dirty
They did Darwin dirty in First Class
First class really treated bro like a throw away 🤦🏿♂️
I don't like how he was treated in First Class it was my introduction to what would now be one of my favorite Marvel characters and even then I felt like he was misused
Darwin is the man
great origin story
Too bad they killed him off in the weakest way possible in the movie
What a cool superpower.
Being black in a movie even if It’s not a horror movie and ur power pretty much makes u invincible u will still have a 95 percent chance of dying.
Wow
Omega level yeah he got ended
so fast in that movie and he was a black dude
He got killed before the title screen
In X-Men First Class
I was so F N mad
In real life would humans hate mutants or be hopeful their children would be a mutant?
Considering how normal ppl are treated just for petty things like skin color, I think having ppl who were actually genetically different would lead to anarchy.
"Afro-hispanic mutant." Yeah. He was in for a rough life u.u
Poor dude.
First class did him so dirty. If you don’t understand a character then don’t use him
Most insane pronunciation of Moira I've ever heard
He look like marching manhunter on DC comics
Here's a thought, if he can adapt to anything to the point where he can increase his intelligence because he wanted to impress his mom, why then can't he change his appearance to one his mom can accept, look like a handsome human boy, young man?
Darwin in the 60s? I figured to survive he would have turned White...
dr04 Darwin himself was often prone to self doubt over the sheer enormity of his own claims:36 Al1hough the belief that an organ so perfect as the eye could have been formed by natural selection, is enough to stagger any one ... I have felt the difficulty far too keenly to be surprised at others hesitating to extend the principle of natural selection to so startling a length.Darwin, C. (1872) The Origin of Species
dr00 would like to invite you to a MeWe group called Darwinian Revolution, its mostly about a UHM class on the historicity of Darwinism and how it became so popular and also why there is so much push back
the movie was wrong about this man
His superpower involves dying in the first scene they get attacked. Omega stupid
