The phrase "as per the spell antimagic field" means that the level 15 ability DOES require concentration to maintain, so there is that as a balancing factor
I believe what “as per the spell anti magic field” specifically means that the effect of the feature is the same as that of an anti magic field. However the casting time / duration / components / and range of the spell are specified in the feature description. So by how it’s phrased, I’m not seeing that it requires concentration. That said, concentration or not, anti magic field that can target specifically 1 medium creature (5ft diameter, not radius) is still very broken even if it requires concentration. Normally an anti magic field will render the caster itself pretty much useless, but this one doesn’t. Especially without magic, the targeted creature will likely lose a lot of ways to break the concentration. I can see this ranger subclass use this ability from range then run and take the dodge action the entire combat. Edit: 60ft range is also very very far. Consider the spell anti magic field is self (10ft)
Maybe have the antimagic field be tied to a hit and damage done to difficulty of removing? I think of sinking an imbued arrow into the creature with a crit hit for 36 damage, the caster has to hit a combined 36 on arcana/save checks to remove it? Just riffing here
Seams like a fun sub-class. I like the 15th level ability as a player but as a DM I don't think I would like it. But the more I think about it there are many spells that can shut down a spell caster.
There isn't a gunslinger subclass for artificer, as artificer isn't part of the 5e SRD, it's only in paid books. However, Valdas has a straight up new class that is literally called "Gunslinger" that focuses entirely on guns
OK, from what I have heard from you folks on Valda's Spire is that you like it. I think it's really hit and Miss. I wanted to buy this book until I started watching your videos.
So far we’ve rated I think 20 subclasses from the book and there are 72 total for the official classes and there are also several brand new classes with several subclasses for each of those as well. There is a TON of stuff in the book and it’s hard to make that much content and have all of it be a big hit. They have done a great job just with the sheer amount of stuff and value in there, but I get your point. Thanks for watching!
Letting the anti magic field completelly delete a caster from the combat, with no saves, no concentration to break, and no way to run away from the effect, is probably fine since whatever goes for the players goes for the DM too. I'm gonna love to make a campaign antagonist with that.
Lvl 3 feat sounds like a EMP shot rsrsrs. Lvl 15 should at least count as casting a spell for the porpouses of counterspell or dispel magic (dispeling being the act of resewing the tore fabric) to avoid being to OP.

My DM: "I wanna run the new vecna statblock in a small campaign"
Me with my Spellbreaker Ranger: "Cowabunga it is"
There should be a mage slayer type subclass for every class

That’s probably the best interpretation even though the actual spell functions a bit differently than the ability. Thanks for watching!

I'm a sucker for any new content for the ranger, always look forward to new videos from y'all!

Please make Valda’s a project and cover everything in the book. That would go insane!
I am a sucker for anything new to the ranger class. Awesome!!
Great stuff as always
Interesting ranger design. You can have lots of fun playing this in a heavy-magic campaign.
This might be the strongest Ranger subclass yet. I really like this one, especially if you are in a magic heavy campaign.
Nice to see a respectable ranger
I’ve been waiting for this for a long time..
Is there an artificer subclass that specializes in firearms like the Mercer fighter subclass?
There aren’t many home brew/unofficial subclasses for artificer that we have seen unfortunately. Thanks for watching!

Really want to play this subclass
The spellbreaker ranger
They *spell* disaster to enemy spell casters
I’ll see myself out
Well played
This is very prone to become one of my top3 subclass in the entire game
It's probably worth multiclassing to a fighter or a rogue to ensure you're still doing damage to non magic casters and are a more efficient build imo
Quick question, how do you get the book? I'm having a bit of trouble finding the official source to purchase it.
We backed the Kickstarter so have pdf access. I don’t believe it is available for purchase as of yet otherwise. Thanks for watching!
What are some ways a DM can counter this, other than more non-casting foes?
These subclass are all awesome would you guys ban any of these in your games

So only pick this one if you're playing in Strixhaven or hunting hags.

I don't think eliminating an NPC from playing has the same effect as a player becoming useless.

If Vecna can spam counterspells out of his dessicated bottom, he deserved to be cheesed by this.
@@LowinBayrod The dnd-beyond vecna is a joke lol.
This is a 15 level ability
Happy Hands!
Idk man, it feels a bit _too_ specific.
I think It'd be fair if the range of _Arcane Burst_ increased by 5ft per lvl of spell slot.
Becouse monsters dont really have that many spells any more this is a bit worse then it could be but its pretty cool
Mage Bane.
