    I buzzed my hair off recently, and my boyfriend laughed at me and told me that I looked like a Mental patient! He is the FIRST man in my life to have ever made a remark like that to me; as I've had buzzed cuts in the past with other men in my life who all loved the cut. So, yes, it'll happen, but "to thine own self be true!" Don't let ANYONE let you feel down about being who you are!

    I have super fine hair, but a LOT of it. I always had to go to hairdressers to thin it out or I had the dreaded helmet head😅 I turned 50 last August and finally got the nerve to buzz it three weeks ago. BEST decision I ever made! No more ponytail headaches, sweaty neck. I'm free!❤

    For the past four years or five years, I have been cutting my hair shorter and shorter and now it’s half buzz cut and being that I’m 77 years old I’m very concerned that I might look foolish, but you’ve given me confidence. I am not sure I’ll be able to do it. I’ll think about it. I’ll think about it but I’m not sure I’ll be able to make the leap, but you look beautiful by the way and it’s a perfect cut for you. Who knows I just might do it.!

    I've been wearing my hair pretty short for years and did the big shave around 2016, wore it like that for a while let it grow, buzz it again etc. Of all the hairstyles I've had (I'm a stylist) this gets the most attention and compliments of all. People are amazed at the guts it takes but honestly it doesn't,it's hair and if you don't like it, it will grow! And btw I'm 49 this year 😊

    This is my first time to your channel, but I can see this is more "you" than any of the other cuts. And your cheeks look higher and fuller. I think so much hair made your face look thin and pulled it down a bit. Gorgeous! For years I've wanted to go back to the pixie cut I had when I was little, but my hair is so thin on top. Nice and thick at the back.

      Please do be hard on yourself. I would look into getting a silver or gray semi-permanent hair color and bright the gray. Or get pink or purple, just get a color that will add a pop and play with that. We think just because we are gray that we can't play around with a semi-permanent color. If you don't want to do that, think about brightening up your makeup. Get some bold lips or bright eyes. You know have to look old just because you hair has gray. I hope this helps and I hope you start playing around more with colors.

    Your amazing!! I found you looking for buzzcuts with bangs. I have longerish front framing my face and longish side burns. Rest of my hair is cut with #4 clipper blade. Last week my hairdresser messed up with the clippers. I didnt see till i got home. I've now got just about bald spot on one side. Looks awful. Unlike you I have thin hair...Sure wish I could get your opinion. After seeing all your videos I'm so ready to buzz it all, but I'm a tad worried. I'm 63 and afraid no bangs will show wrinkles, lol. But I've got wrinkles on rest of my face. I don't want to go back to my girl. Do I go to barber? Use my brand new clippers still in the box? I'm thinking just go for it...You are so freaking cool, and pretty and not afraid to try new things. I admire that about you. I suppose I'm close to that since I have a buzz cut! Please don't stop making videos. Your awesome. ps I can't help to hope you reply to this.

    • @grayhairandtattoos
      @grayhairandtattoos  Год назад +3

      Hi there! Okay here's my opinion. I personally say go for the full buzz cut, it's amazingly empowering and I think it's stinking cute. BUT you have to like what you see in the mirror. So here's my opinion on that. We all have wrinkles when we get older and we are constantly told that's a bad thing. I don't think it's bad, in fact I think we should celebrate getting old and we need to stop hiding behind our hair. We lose our power when we hide. If you decide to do the buzz I would say go to a barber for your first cut then trim it yourself from there. It will take the pressure off of you and you want a nice trim around the ears. If your hair is thin, I would suggest a lighter hair color (it doesn't show your scalp as much). To end I just want you to know there is no right or wrong way to wear your hair. It's your personal choice and you need to follow your heart and just do what makes you feel the best about your. Oh and one last thing - if you buzz your hair and you don't like it, just grow it out and be proud of yourself for doing it. 💜

    • @taracrawford5787
      @taracrawford5787 Год назад +1

      Except for bangs and side sides I do have buzz cut. I agree with you 100%. I earned my wrinkles, and love that I don't hide behind my hair, nor am I bogged down with hair products and appliances.

    I’m 38… your story resonates with me so much. I have thick curly hair. I cut it super short when I was in high school and I knew immediately that that was me. Over the years I’ve put myself in a box that I thought I belonged in, and longer hair was part of being in that box. I’ve struggled with self esteem issues as long as I can remember… I always fall back into thinking I need long hair to be pretty or feminine and soft. But the truth of the matter is that hair doesn’t make you any of those things. It’s a difficult way of thinking to break out of. When my hair is long, it’s all I think about, stress about. Everyone loves it long, they always say how beautiful it is. It is beautiful on a good day but for most of the time it’s a pain in the butt. So I completely understand what you’ve gone through.

    I thoroughly enjoyed this video and I love your style!!! I told myself that I would Buzz cut my hair when I turned 50, well I'm about 3 years behind schedule but truthfully right on time. Earlier this month I scheduled an appointment for the 22nd to get my buzz cut. It will be the lowest cut I've ever done and the 4th of my "big chops"!

    I have thick, wavy, dark brown hair that I loved to dye black, and occasionally experimental colors. It's a great texture for a mohawk, which I've had twice and loved, but the maintenance wasn't for me. In my mid- to late twenties, I finally overcame my obsession with wanting to tame my hair into lying down smooth and straight. I embrace the fact that I look like a distant relative of Edward Scissorhands, and I let my hair choose how it wants to behave. But even the bare minimum of washing and combing it every day is relatively exhausting to me. If it grows to ponytail-able length, it's too warm and too in the way and too explosive a lot of the time, plus I shed a stupid amount when it's been tied together for a day. Like weed, it's very forgiving of diy choppings and it grows quickly, so keeping it short is work, too, and I hate enduring salon treatments. I buzzed all of it off once, several years ago. I would say that, besides my first mohawk, it's the most liberating, empowering feeling anyone could ever feel through a haircut, especially when it's self-administered. I loved it. I'm currently growing out the black dye because I'm hopeful that I'm finally getting a full grey streak or two, which I don't want to miss. A short, straight 1920's bob has been my personal favorite of all time; I find myself returning to that the most when I want to 'reset' my semi-cyclical hair metamorphoses. I find myself shifting between impulsive, excited changes and lazy care. Growing out the dye is both boring and stressful, so I started to think about whether I want to buzz it once more. But I do want to ask - how do you get your hair to lie down flat?! Mine was sticking out Monchichi-style as soon as it started growing, which led to a really bizarre two or three months I'm not fully sure I want to revisit. 😅

      I love this hair story SO much! I have to keep my buzz cut super short or I look like a Q-Tip. I have cowlicks all over my head and my hair grows in weird directions. If I ever decide to grow it out (doubtful) I will just embrace the weirdness and spike it so something like that. 💙

    I’m glad I found your video tonight. We are the same age and my reasons for planning to buzz my hair are kind of different, but I struggled my whole life with my hair just like you did. all of my adult life I only found one person who could make my hair, effortless and beautiful. I think I got two haircuts from her before she decided to quit doing hair. I have chased that haircut the rest of my life for the most part, and I’ve never found it again. about nine years ago or so my mom lost her hair from cancer treatment so I used the clippers and cut all of mine off. And when her started growing back in, I’ll let mine grow as well. But I just couldn’t let it get past about a half inch long before I had to buzz it short like yours each time. But after a couple of years, I decided to let it grow again. it got to the middle of my back, but my ability to handle headbands or ponytails or anything like that was gone. And the brutal, humid summers! I finally went shorter about six months ago because I wasn’t quite ready to commit to buzzing it short again. Now I find that I am super clumsy, because some of the hair hangs down alongside my eyes if I have my head down and, it almost makes me dizzy to move my head. I laugh at myself all the time, but I also have slowly been getting more and more determined that somethings gotta give. The first time I had it buzzed, I looked young for my age, now I look my age all these years later, and I wasn’t sure I would like the buzz cut until I saw you get yours done. I’ve been scared until now, but you look fantastic and it gives me the hope I need to move forward. Tomorrow morning I’m getting those clippers out and buzzing my hair. Thank you so much for helping. Give me the courage to move forward and do what will really help me feel better physically and mentally. And it will be so nice not to be exhausted after shampooing my hair. I’m so excited! Thank you so much! ❤

    Hello, I have a question for anyone who may know. I've been thinking about buzzing my hair. I have to sleep on one side do to chronic back pain and times that I have cut my hair even shorter when I wake up my hair has spread out in one place that leaves a bald spot but I have just enough hair that I can keep brushing to the side to cover up that spot until it grows out. So my question is if I was to buzz my hair would I still get that bald spot in the mornings or would my hair be so short that it wouldn't do anything to it at all? THANKS!😊

    • @grayhairandtattoos
      @grayhairandtattoos  Год назад +1

      I'm not 100% sure on this one but I do know that if you have a buzz cut it won't show your bald spot at much. You would be able to blend that in much more than with longer hair. Also I noticed with my hair that when I have a darker color, I can see more of my scalp. When I have a lighter color it's not as noticeable. I hope this helps and please let me know what you end up doing ❤
