- Setting up the DLU Simulator is pretty easy. I cover how to download it, install it, set up your transmitter, and set up the simulator to work with your transmitter.
In this video I use the FrSky Taranis X9D Plus for demonstration.

You’ve taught me a lot. Been following since you began. Man wish you were still flying with us today
Thank you bro. Still giving to the community even after passing.
Tried to download this and hook up my QX7 many times. I'm a new subscriber to your channel and just found this. Everything worked the first time. HUGE THANKS!!!!!!
@Larry Faucett - I'm having problems hooking my QX7 up to my MacBook - it binds fine to the USB dongle but stick movement not detected. Got any tips? Cheers
@Daniel Kezar I got it working now and it wasn't anything to do with MacBook at at all! The dongle was faulty, hobbyking sent me a new one. Happy days
Really a big loss for everyone. Prayers to his family and loved ones. Way to young to go. You will see him again. God bless.
Hi, I have just successfully managed to connect the DRL simulator today with my Taranis Plus transmitter thanks to the instructions on your excellent video!. I am a nooby to FPV with some experience in drone flying. My computer seems to have to work quite hard so I do not like to leave the computer on if I am not using the simulator. However very enjoyable and can see I have a long way to go to master FPV flying. Many thanks again :)
RIP JC thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with the fpv community.
we will miss you. u were such a great guy
this video got me all set up. thanks
meant to try this out awhile ago...thanks for the reminder!
I meant to do it a while back also but five days of rain reminded me haha.
can I use the fleshy fs-i6 too? thanks
You're good at that game as in you make it look easy!🤔👍👏
What thumbs sticks are you using. Cheers
cool! My old laptop isn't compatable.Anyway to install this with Xbox?
It does not work for me, it won't recognize my Taranis, it just says ERROR controller not plugged in. If I unplug it and plug it in again, it goes to external drive F: and shows me the Taranis files? Help...
3000gtwelder start the game when the controller is already plugged in
Yeah, I tried that, it didn't work. I think it's maybe my computer is to slow.
Mine doesn't work for CRAP!! The DRL app doesn't even register my trim throttle. What are the settings on: inputs and mixer supposed to be?
What plug you use?
Nice vid, thanks!
I can't figure out why my yaw and roll are backwards. using a spectrum d6e until I get my taranis. using a 3.5mm jack and smartproppro. it my be just me but something just does not feel like it does when I fly a real quad.
Thanks for the video, I just set it up with my turnigy evolution and I'm getting noticeable I put lag. Is this normal. Graphics are set to low and I'm using a laptop. There's no frame rate lag, just lag on the sticks.
Havent tried it with the Evolution yet. I'll have one in the mail tomorrow then I'll check it out.
Thanks man. Just got mine today haha. Happy with it so far.
project blue falcon hiya I'm using the flysky fs-i6 will it be the same setup for my transmitter
I downloaded DRL but when I click single player it says I need a profile and when I login it says user not found. I created a account on DRL website idk whats wrong?
forgot to mention to turn off external rx to save battery life :)
Yep that too. Good catch.
I thought it hurts the rf after time too
how do i do it with a turnigy evolution and with throttle right?
can u fly DRL with a mac and spektrum radio?
your awesome!! subscribed!!
Thanks a bunch!
what specs you need to have smooth video playback.. using surface 3..
I don't have a fancy control and used an usb xbox controller. The control is pretty bad for me (yeah I am a newbie in this too but I have a lot of hours in RC cars and planes). May be my setting is too sensitive.. Will just any usb 2 sticks RC plane stimulator controller work? If so I will dig mine up from the basement....
Hi JC, I've tried so many times messing around with my computer trying to get the zipped file to extract all of its files correctly; maybe you might know how to help. When i extract it, all goes well until it gets to the very end where my computer tells me that for the last 50 files, the "files names would be too long for the destination" and my only option is to skip them and have them not be extracted and therefore leave my simulator not able to be used. ive done through every single file of the extracted simulator files and compared them with those of the zipped sim files (freshly downloaded from the website) and i have specifically found the files that are apparently "too long for the destination." Ive tried to move them individually but they still wont go over into the extracted program files. do you have any ideas??? Thanks so much!!
Here is one of the directories to one of the files that wont go from the zipped file into the extracted file because it is "to long":
DRLSimulator_1-1-1_win.zip\DRLSimulator_1-1-1_win\simulator\DRLSimulator_Data\StreamingAssets\PhotonServer\deploy\LoadBalancing\GameServer\bin\Cache\Game\assembly\dl3\1f37b5fc\00d8dbb2_2159d101
and in the file called "00d8dbb2_2159d101" at the end of this directory in the DRL program files is a file called "__AssemblyInfo__" and it is an example of a file that has a file name "too long for the destination"
Again thank you so much for you time JC,
Malin
Do I need a special cord for my Taranis, or can I just use a normal cable?
drumrboynoid you should see a port on the back of your taranis, this is a mini USB port. This type of cable is pretty common
Can I use my RealFlight G4 controller with this sim?thanks
for the guys having trouble connecting their Taranis or Horus be sure that you have NOT selected the mass storage option when downloading and installing firmware.
hi i have FlySky FS-TH9X how i can use it with DRL?
But i dont have any USB on my receiver (only trainer mode)
can I use real flight transmitter?
Can you play this offline?
How realistic is it?
I'd say the realism is pretty well after you spent a good amount of time adjusting the quads weight and thrust and getting the rates similar to the one you fly in real life. As far as crashes in freestyle mode its not very realistic at all lol, but thats no big deal. Overall I enjoy it and think the maps are great.
What are pc requirements?
I'm not sure but I dont think its much. Also you can turn the graphics settings to low. Its not a CPU heavy game so it should work fine even on laptops.
Project Blue Falcon ok thanks
