Which one is the strongest?
The last upgraded mastersword (the golden sword) in A link to the past/Link between worlds or the ToTK master sword?
This is an interesting question! I'm gonna pin your comment. I would like to know people's thoughts on the most powerful Master Sword in Zelda games. Personally, I believe that the Golden Sword is more powerful than the ToTK version since most enemies can be defeated in a single hit. However, in my opinion, the most powerful Master Sword in the Zelda series is the one in Skyward Sword. It holds significance as the first game in the Zelda timeline and houses the spirit of the Goddess Sword, Fi, within it. The only drawback is that the Sword Beam takes some time to charge.
I'd say lore-wise, it's probably TotK's since it spent tens of thousands of years soaking up divine power. In practice, though, it _really_ doesn't feel much different from the sword's default.
Purely gameplay-wise, though, it's hard for me to say 'cause I haven't really experienced many of them.

The great Deku Tree DID say its potential strength is essentially limitless. There’s no limit to how much divine power it can absorb.
@@zekeram129 Its stats are actually the exact same as in BOTW, with 40 durability and 30 attack. This can be augmented with fusion, though, so its peak strength is a lot higher. Ironically, its powered up form is actually weaker this time around to compensate for greater frequency of enemies it's strong against, only doing 60 to the final boss.
@@sheridan5175 It also does 60 Damage any time you're in battle against Phantom Ganon, and has infinite durability against Phantom Ganon and the Final Boss. It's pretty hilarious going to a place where Phantom Ganon spawns in while the Master Sword only has 1 durability left, so every hit becomes a double damage Critical Hit. The sword auto-repairs for the final battle though, so you can't do that there.
It doesn't power up at all against the Gloom Hands though, for some reason. Not even halfway boosted like against Gloom covered enemies. Probably a developer oversight that hasn't been fixed, just like how the Master Sword only gets the durability boost from fusing the very first time you fuse a material on it and never again for the entire game. I'd imagine both of those would be noticed and addressed if they do another Trial of the Sword type of DLC, since they'd have to tweak the Master Sword's properties in that case anyway.
i adore how Wind Waker Link swings his cool new sword around like an idiot, before realizing "wait this is a sacred blade, I should probably take this seriously" and composing himself.
I love how most of them play that same melody ever since A Link to the Past
This melody gets me hyped every time it plays, you know at that moment that the adventure truly begins.

Y’all need to play oracle of seasons, I just love how nonchalantly Link pulls the legendary master sword and then walks away like nothing happened 2 seconds later.
Age of Calamity is my favorite. The fact that Link gets his butt wooped right before pulling the master sword and his first reaction is turning around and threatening the villain. So cool.
Almost all the games are like: Wow!, you got the Master sword now you can defeat the evil things and save Hyrule! *Sounds epic music*.
The oracle games: You got the Master sword and nothing will happen, congratulations.

The Master sword pull from TOTK is the most over the top in the series and I love it
I love it too, Link pulling out the Master sword on the top of a dragon is just breathtaking!
It's fucking _hilarious_ if you don't know the light dragon's name though. All I saw was wresting a giant fucking dragon and "GODDAMNIT THE _ONE TIME_ I PREPARE HEARTS IN ADVANCE IT ASKS FOR _STAMINA"_ and then a weird cutscene of Zelda floating in what I'm pretty sure I assumed was either an imprint of her left on the sword or her left in time-limbo or something.
Well, up until later, when I peeked at the Forgotten Foundation ahead of time. And I started trying to deny that maybe, the Light Dragon wasn't just "the Hylia-themed dragon"...

Nothing really cannot beat TP for me, Its just clean, simple and the way wolf link fights the light beaming out of the master sword is just badass, TOTK is also good but just because its cool to see him pulling it out on a dragons head

Up until know my favorite ones were from Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild. But Tears of the Kingdom takes the crown, not only the scene is the best one in my opinion, but the backstory behind it...for the first time, pulling the Master Sword really brought tears in my eyes
This is where the genius of Nintendo shines through; they have the ability to reinvent even the most common actions in Zelda games, such as pulling the master sword, and transform them into unforgettable moments 😮
AOC pull is underrated asf
The subtle tone of Zelda's Lullaby in the background was a perfect touch, they couldn't have done it better.
Hence, the name Tears of the Kingdom
Totk’s master sword pull felt too over the top and the sad backstory is cool, but in practice, you can just get it by accident in the most stupid way and also just get it at the end of the game even if you didn’t get every single memory. It’s flawed and I prefer the Oot pull for how you realize you doomed the world by pulling it and the TP pull because of how perfect it is with the build up and the de transformation of wolf link.
I love how the Zelda series made the Master Sword look like the ultimate weapon in each game when others such as the Biggoron's Sword and Light Arrows outclass it. Not the strongest, but definitely the most important.
I personally like how the Master Sword music theme is the BOTW version but it also incoropates Zelda's Lullaby into the melody to symbolize the connection between Zelda and the Master Sword
Hard to say my fave one, either OoT or Skyward sword for me. OoT is nostalgic and the idea of being warped 7 years in time to become and adult was so mind boggling for me as a kid. And Skyward sword, it felt so cool being the origin story of forging the master sword that every link iteration in the future would use.
You said it all! It's difficult to choose a favorite between Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword. Both games hold a special place in my heart.

I love both the Hyrule Warriors draws, because they are popping the cork on a whole bottle of ass-whoopin'. They really sell that there are swords and there is The Master Sword.

For all the time the player has to spend level-grinding in BotW and TotK in order to get the Master Sword, in those games, the fanfare has to be the most uplifting thing to hear in those games. I frankly wish that it replayed at the end of the final Trial of the Sword because those trials were diabolical. I frankly felt cheated out of what could have been my greatest moment in my video gaming history.

Good, so we can assume that in universe every time the Master Sword decides to say "mr stark, i don't feel so good" Link has to travel through the mist with Zelda once again just to collect his blade that every woman already says he owns down there.
Tbf, Young Link has to pull it out every time he needs to become an adult
The best ones are when link struggles to pull it out. So my favorite would jave to be BOTW or A link to the past
And A Link Between Worlds which is very similar to ALTTP where you also have to collect the three Pendants of Virtue to get the Master Sword.
Link didn’t struggle for ALTTP. Also, TP link had to fight the light coming out of the master sword as a wolf to show his determination.
The Zelda’s lullaby in the beginning of totk’s MS theme was just heartwarming
I love how you see forest animals running around or circle around the master sword like it’s their beloved guardian of the forest
Skyward Swords one is the coolest imo, essentially Zelda blesses your sword and it’s the origin of the master sword.

Twilight Princess has been my winner for years but I just got the Master Sword in TOTK the other day and it was the most beautiful scene I ever saw in a video game, I cried!

TotK is the best, SPOILERS:
The sword that seals the darkness is destroyed by Ganon. Zelda earns her title as legend and gives up everything to bring it back to Link, bathing the master sword in sacred sunlight for ten thousand years. At first she resists, trying to protect it, but then realizes it must be Link whom has finally come for it. And she lets it go. The back story, the sacrifice, the music, the zoom out on dragon back above golden clouds... It's magnificent.
Ive got to go with a link to the past. The original is still the best for me.

I've been very conflicted about this, but... between Age of Calamity and Tears of the Kingdom, which one has the crazier scene?
Age of Calamity is still established as the only Master Sword scene to take place mid-combat. The Master Sword itself literally rescues Link and Zelda from death, Link doesn't spare any second after pulling the sword, and the music that plays alongside it is legendary.
Tears of the Kingdom is the only Master Sword scene to take place somewhere away from its resting place, and the only one to take place up in the sky (Skyward Sword had its scene on the Surface). For the first time, Link is actively struggling to take the Sword, where in previous iterations (especially Twilight Princess) it was a mere test of strength. Link hears Zelda's final words before transforming into the Light Dragon, and he sets off to take out Ganondorf once and for all.
The crazier is TOTK, the most touching, is TOTK, the most cinematographic is TOTK...but, in Age of Calamity, the Master Sword is a true game changer, Link's savior in a moment of darkness and it can bring a sort of kinship towards the sword which is lacking in TOTK.
Honestly,I'd say my favorite is either TP, LBW, or Breath of the Wild, maybe TotK just from how hilariously over-the-top it is.
Wind Waker's is great too, with all of its fanfare.
Really, it just comes down to the ones I don't like, that being OoT's (it gets played so many damn times I got desensitized to it) and HW's (painfully generic). Every other one is alright at worst; SS's Goddess Sword pull is goofy, but in a fun kinda way. LttP's is primitive, sure, but it's held back by its hardware so I can't blame it. I haven't even experienced AoC's so I can't rank it.

In AoC, the Master Sword can feel game-changing.
I went from a runt with weak weapons to the wielder of the powerful Master Sword.
I doubt any Master Sword pull in future Zelda games will be able to top the one in TOTK!
I would have also added him pulling out the Master Sword in Super Smash Bros Brawl too and the upgraded Master Sword scene in Botw’s DLC.
My question is where does link get the sheath for the master sword? Does he just hand make them?
Maybe, considering the magical nature of the Master Sword, the sheath could be a manifestation of its own magic, appearing alongside the sword when Link retrieves it.

In Zelda NES there is also a Master Sword
It's not the Master Sword in the two NES games; it was called the 'Magical Sword.' The first mention of the Master Sword is in ALTTP.
What about the cutscene from Super Smash Bros Brawl?
This cutscene is definitely awesome in SSBB, but this video is more about the mainline Zelda games + Hyrule Warriors than crossovers like SSBB.

This is normal, in most Zelda games you can find the Master Sword, although there are exceptions like Spirit Tracks, Majora's Mask, Phantom Hourglass, etc.

It's as powerful as the Biggoron's Sword if you don't equip any rings. We are unsure if this is the real MS tho.

@@luma4682 Right! The blacksmith does restore the Master Sword from the Broken Sword (if you already have the Noble Sword). While the in-game dialogue refers to it as the 'legendary Master Sword,' I think the same as you. The MS in Oracle games could be seen more as a special easter egg or a reward for completing one of the two games that the real MS.
@@GuyLinkBrushGaming yeah, like replica, just like the weapon and dress in breath of the wild. they are just replicas of the original, but they arent the original afterall. The deity mask is not the same as the original and the sword too with the same effect. The light Bow of zelda tp same, even tho in botw it got light arrow effect, while in totk the lighteffect is gone, but the strenght is the same.
It's the L3 Sword Upgrade that can only be unlocked in a "Linked Game" Optional and most likely Non-Canonical. There is actually FIVE WAYS You can get the "MAster Sword" in the Oracle games
The Default sword that you would get in the scenes depicted isn't the MS, but the "Noble Sword."
1.)Oracle of Seasons - The Noble Sword is in the Holodrum"s Lost Woods, different from Alttp's Hyrule Lostwoods
2.)Oracle of Ages - You get an old broken sword from a Zora, you get it repaired and it becomes the Noble Sword
In a Linked Game, you Can Upgrade your Lv 1 sword to the Noble Sword way early via "Secrets" so the Master sword take's it place in those respective scenes.
After beating an "Unlinked version" of either Oracle games, there is a post game where you can use "secrets" and get Upgrades.
3.0Oracle of Seasons Postgame - You tell an Old Man a secret and Do a Trial. You get the Master sword
4.)Oracle of Ages Postgame- You tell the King of Zora(present) the secret and he will polished your Noble sword. It becomes the Master sword
You then can use the secret in the Linked game to Upgrade your sword. You go inside the Maku Tree and tell Farore the Secret. You can choose to upgrade your LV sword to the Noble sword earlier as mentioned earlier OR
5)Get the Noble sword in the Linked Game as Normal and then Upgrade the Noble sword to the Master Sword from Farore
Overall "the master sword" in the Oracle games is just a stronger sword, nothing special. It isnt required in beating Ganon or give an advantage
