2:01 The blade that was broken... renewed and reforged after thousands of years bathing in sacred power. The Master Sword has built up so much sacred power now that it can outright destroy evil, not just repel it. It is as Zelda said, it is the key to destroying the Demon King. All of this possible by making the ultimate sacrifice and holding onto the hope that Link would one day find and reclaim the sword. Easily the most beautiful and emotional claiming of the Master Sword in the franchise yet.
I remember before that I was like i'm gonna regroup as many hearts as I can, just to get the master sword, but then....Nintendo decided to use stamina instead to get it lmao
I can’t explain the pure shock I got when I saw the mastersword in Zelda’s forehead. I just watched all of the dragon tears and thought “hey, I’m gonna visit Zelda”, then I see the freakin mastersword right there!
This was by far the best cutscenes in totk or botw. Absolutely breathtaking and beautiful in every way. Nintendo can really make an emotional impact when they try.

Getting the Master Sword BEFORE you completed the Tears of Dragon quest make all the story even more heartbreaking because: 1- The surprise you have in fiding the Master Sword over the Light Dragon without been warned about the sword whereabout by Deku Tree or by the last tear of the Dragon is one best experience in a gaming life for a player! You see the Light Dragon in the very first moments of the game and you will never imagine that the Master Sword is with it. The developers were genius about that. Besides, when you get the Master Sword and you see the last memory with the Zelda wish, you not assure where Zelda really is. The memory dont explain this properly, which make you still look for Zelda but you already have met her even you don't know about it. 2 - If you get the sword AFTER finish The Tears of the Dragon quest hte game tells the Sword location taking off your surprise in discovery the real location of the legendary sword! Finding the Master Sword by yourself or been warned about it by Deku Tree in Retrieving the Hero Sword Quest, the moment you see the memory when Zelda becomes the Light Dragon is even more heartbreaking because you already interacted with the creature and didn't notice that it was the actual Princess Zelda. HEARTBREAKING AND MINDBLOWING!
Such a strong moment! I accidentally stumbled into the Light Dragon "early" in the game, I knew hardly anything about the story at this point... It was such a coincidence, it was as if the sword wanted to find me at this exact moment. I've never noticed the dragon before (well, on the Great Sky Island maybe, but I didn't realize it was a new one..), I was high up on Zonaite Forge Island to check if there's a Korok at the top. Then I noticed the dragon, was like "OH, a dragon, let's take out the Purah Pad, I haven't photographed the dragons yet". Then I saw the name and saw that there was a "glow" on its head. I was lucky, it was within my reach - which was also very unlikely and a huge coincidence, because it flies so high! - so I flew there and realized that the glow was the Master Sword. I've just completed my second stamina wheel a few hours before, so I could pull it. I did not know who the dragon was and why the sword was there, I had no clue... But this was one of THE moments of my playthrough. And when I found out the truth about it later, it hit me like a truck 😭
on my second playthrough I found the Light Dragon shortly after I completed my second Stamina Wheel. I figured that if I wouldn't get another chance to go for it anytime soon so I used a recall stone to get as much height as I could, hoverbiked the rest of the way and I got the sword. My emulator ceased to function before I could finish the run, but at least I got one hell of a clip from it!
Thankfully I didn’t get spoiled that the dragon is you-know-who, but I hate that I spoiled that this is how you get the master sword for myself, all because I wanted to upgrade that damn champ tunic
I believed that the dragon was a kind of Master Sword protector until I finished the Tears of Dragon quest... Getting the Master Sword not knowing the truth made things much more special.... My best experience in games ever!
I love how in every Zelda game that came before, there was always a forceful pull to Master Sword from whatever pedestal it was in from Link. Here, it was the most gentle pull to finally remove it, because he made sure not to hurt Zelda in the process. God this game was incredible.
I go to a tower because I felt like flying, in the air I see a dragon in the distance, I’m like ‘hmm I can make this’, I land on the dragon, I’m like ‘what’s this thing glowing there’ and 2 seconds later I am having this epic moment 😂 I totally stumbled upon this 🤷♂️
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME! And to be honest, I prefer get the Master Sword before you discovered where Zelda is because when you see the last Tears of the Dragon the emotion is even harder!
@@olibarahosasa1137 I believed that the dragon was a kind of Master sword protector or guardian... I didnt imagine that iwas Zelda itself... MINDBLOWING!
I will forever maintain that, regardless of my opinions on the writing and voice acting, this is one of the absolute most well directed zelda games. Every cinematic shot acomplishes what it sets out to do. This one always gives my goosebumps. The camera angles, swelling emotional music, and the seemingly somber expression from link. I've always kind of viewed this scene as the moment Link had to accept Zelda was gone. Obviously with the end of the game being the way it is, this is more of a headcanon now, but even then, Link had no real way of getting her back until the very end. As much as Zelda is there, she isnt. This is the light dragon. I think even the final boss fight acomplishes that thought, to me at least, as well. I feel the reason the Light Dragon helps you out isn't as much related to Zelda versus Gannondorf, but moreso the Light versus Dark conflict. Ganondorf surrendered everything for Darkness, so it makes sense the Light Dragon would help you. Also the moment Ganondorf swallows that stone, the game is cinematically perfect in my opinon from that point forwards. God, I'm just always in awe of what Nintendo can do at their absolute peak.
Ah yes, i too dress up for the cutscenes. I literally can’t stand when link is in my goofy “ass kickin outfit” (the mismatched/silly looking outfit i wear that has the best stats vs the outfit he literally wears during the first cutscene and on the box. I always take a minute to just throw on my champions tunic just to make sure i LOOK like the hero zelda knows and loves
Fr!! That’s literally what I did! @@hmhas0517 lol at least the fierce deity outfit looks decent! Once or twice I've accidentally worn the zonai armor or the sky diving armor (which aren't bad looking necessarily...but the HEADGEAR for each one...agh!) Basically anything that obscures his face; Link has some pretty choice micro-expressions in this game and I hate having to miss out on them bc of a goofy hat
@@ghostchannel4766 Indeed! I think he should make a sequel to that video where he immediately changes his outfit mid fight bc he knows there's a live cutscene after he makes the final blow.

I just got the master sword today. I must say, traveling through the treacherous depths to reach Korok forest and free the poor deku tree couldn't have been more rewarding.
When I first did this before even visiting half the geoglyphs, I felt kinda bad for the dragon since it felt like I was causing it pain in getting the sword back. I reloaded a save after deciding I wanted to get the Sword after getting all the memories, compared to BoTW, where I got the sword halfway through the main story. Flash forward to today, after having witnessed everything, I actually felt REALLY bad as I was causing Zelda unintentional pain in trying to carry out her wish. Tomorrow, I finally head out to beat the game.
I did this tonight after getting all the geoglyphs. I figured out it was Zelda but didbt know the master sword was there snd i saw the glow on the head and was like wait a minute....what is that??? Beautiful.
There are just so many hints from just the light dragon itself that help us deduce that it's indeed Zelda: 1. The light dragon is new to totk. Naturally we want to learn more about it 2. It's called the Light Dragon (or White Dragon in Japanese). The other dragons have names, but not this one. 3. It's got short golden hair like Zelda 4. It's got pointy ears like hylians, unlike the other dragons' which are shaped differently 5. The stones that you get from the light dragon heal, instead of being elemental 6. The fact that it's called the Light dragon 7. Master Sword is with it
this hurt so bad to realize i no longer had a little ping on her after i did it. like i got the master sword... but at what COST (the cost is not knowing where my GORL is)
You get thrown off and it says something like "Seek the blessings of the goddess statue," iirc. I accidentally mashed instead of held, so that's how I got thrown off lol.
Well, comment section is already filled with Spoilers but I'll try to hide my comment anyway. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I haven't played many Zelda games, but I can easily guess the BotW/TotK version of Zelda is the one that suffered the most. Losing everything, the kingdom, family and friends by the strikes of the Calamity, then forcing herself to seal it for 100 years to let Link heal and give him more time to recover his memories, and when the crisis is finally over, leaving in peace and lose everything again by being teleported to the past, where the same shit happens. Not just that, but even literally becoming an absolute martyr offering body and soul to restore the Master Sword. I'm very glad it was possibile to bring her back to her original form in the ending, but still, she didn't know it could have been possible, she straight up sacrified herself and lived since the ancient times waiting for everything to come back at that same point. And probably she wasn't "asleep", but well aware of what was happening below her, as she is actively helping Link against Ganondorf in his final form. They really did a great job with the plot, even if it was predictable, it's still well executed. Jeez I hoped that after the credits we could have got a few more quests with her as a companion.
I believed that the dragon was a kind of Master Sword protector until I finished the Tears of Dragon quest... Getting the Mater Sword not knowing the truth become the things much more special.... My best expereince in games ever!
Big Spoiler but she accidentally sent herself 10 000 years in the past with no way back. At some point, a present time shattered master sword finds its way back to her. She realizes her duty is to find a way to reforge and deliver the sword back to present time Link, and the only way there was was to swallow a divine stone which would turn her into an immortal dragon, taking away her humanity and consciousness in the process. So she spent 10 000 years wandering Hyrule’s skies as a dragon, slowly reforging the strongest version of the master sword in the process by bathing it in her light powers until Link found her in this cutscene.
Honestly, having done all the geoglyphs prior... This feels like one of the most "earned" master sword pulls in the series.

Before getting all tears: Give me back my sword you thief!
After getting all tears: Im sorry im sorry im sorry im sorry!

The blade that was broken... renewed and reforged after thousands of years bathing in sacred power.
I got a feeling something bad would happen after my first tear. Finished all of them in a rush and almost cried when I got to this 😭😭
This one made me cry when I got it
I remember before that I was like i'm gonna regroup as many hearts as I can, just to get the master sword, but then....Nintendo decided to use stamina instead to get it lmao
I first saw the light dragon at the water temple, I decided to follow it with a construct. I hadn’t done the dragon Tears quest and I didn’t pull out the sword yet, but I was extremely surprised to find the master sword there lmao
So beautiful when she takes you above the clouds into the golden sunlight. Possibly the most powerful moment in the game for me.
Felt like it invoked a Sacred Realm effect.
in tears of the kingdom you get to pull a sword out of a dragon's head
This scene gives me goosebumps every time, just like in oot.
Legit got on the Loght Fragon without even knowing the Master Sword was on it... imagine my disappointment when I realized I was just one stamina upgrade away from getting the Master Sword (I also had 4 Lights on me too ;o;)
Bro I went to that dragon just to get a part from her and I didn't realized the master sword was literally on her face, imagine my reaction when the deku tree revealed its location, and I had enough stamina too!
Same bro got the master sword before getting the quest i was curious about the light on its forehead
I am so glad i got it this way honestly it was a full surprise
I was doing the water temple and I saw the dragon, I decided fuck the temple and made an airplane to it, I was literally heading to it's horn to get a piece until I saw the master sword. I decided fuck it and I had two wheels, I didn't get all the glyphs but I had enough to piece the picture together, unfortunately I didn't get mineru and the deku trees quest, I just pulled it out, it was impactful anyway tho
Getting the Master Sword BEFORE you completed the Tears of Dragon quest make all the story even more heartbreaking because:
1- The surprise you have in fiding the Master Sword over the Light Dragon without been warned about the sword whereabout by Deku Tree or by the last tear of the Dragon is one best experience in a gaming life for a player!
I just realized, the light is Zelda's hands is coming out of where the triforce symbols are.

Imagine pulling the master sword whilst having the yiga armour on. Wouldn’t that be something 💀
Lmao I just randomly pulled it out because I was just exploring everything so I had enough stamina wheels
In BOTW, it is Health. In TOTK, it is Stamina
The master sword is back… back from the past… like samurai Jack!!!
I love how even after this scene if you look at the Master Sword in a certain lighting, you can still see the scars from where Ganondorf destroyed it
It felt like the dragon ascended Link into heaven to fully restore and reobtain the Master Sword.
0:47 the light dragon finally calms down and link retrieves the master sword
Imagine how relived Zelda must've been when that sword was finally pulled from her head
Absolutely beautiful
the moment link try to pull the master sword on the light dragon my heart starts to beat it was magnificent
when the dragon goes to the clouds you can here zeldas lulaby in it
I'll have to fly over to the light dragon so I can get the master sword
Ah yes, i too dress up for the cutscenes. I literally can’t stand when link is in my goofy “ass kickin outfit” (the mismatched/silly looking outfit i wear that has the best stats vs the outfit he literally wears during the first cutscene and on the box. I always take a minute to just throw on my champions tunic just to make sure i LOOK like the hero zelda knows and loves
Fr!! That’s literally what I did! One time when I was fighting a boss in that game, I had my fierce dirty set on so that it would help when I fought but I forgot to change back into the champions tunic and the hylian trousers before the cutscene happened after I killed the boss😭so I looked like a complete idiot during that cutscene
Was that a ProZD reference?! ROFL!
@@ghostchannel4766 Indeed! I think he should make a sequel to that video where he immediately changes his outfit mid fight bc he knows there's a live cutscene after he makes the final blow.

It looks so badass.
the light dragon looks absolutely beautiful

I didn't cry once while playing this game or seeing the cutscenes
That chord at 1:25 🤌
2:49 It's very subtle, but when zelda is talking about the master sword, here are some little fi-themed notes.
I remember spending an hour or two getting all the dragon tears thinking it’d show me the swords location so I spent another hour fighting phantom ganon because I didn’t know how to fight gloom hands 😭
I just got the master sword today.
I must say, traveling through the treacherous depths to reach Korok forest and free the poor deku tree couldn't have been more rewarding.
2:16 this shot was fire seeing link has the master sword 3 times with dragon zelda was good.
Someone needs to put freebird over the part where Link is just hanging on for dear life
When I first did this before even visiting half the geoglyphs, I felt kinda bad for the dragon since it felt like I was causing it pain in getting the sword back.
Beautiful.
I was wearing the gliding armor set during this scene and had to deal with the "bird" mask's ogling eyes during an emotional moment.
Dude same. And part of me kinda hates it
"Gimme my baby! GIMME MY BABY! My baby spent enough time with Mama, now it's Daddy's turn!"
I think them letting you dive down with the dragon next to you would have been a lot cooler
There are just so many hints from just the light dragon itself that help us deduce that it's indeed Zelda:
1. The light dragon is new to totk. Naturally we want to learn more about it
2. It's called the Light Dragon (or White Dragon in Japanese). The other dragons have names, but not this one.
3. It's got short golden hair like Zelda
4. It's got pointy ears like hylians, unlike the other dragons' which are shaped differently
5. The stones that you get from the light dragon heal, instead of being elemental
6. The fact that it's called the Light dragon
7. Master Sword is with it
I'm sorry for calling you ugly when I saw you for the first time light dragon 💀
this hurt so bad to realize i no longer had a little ping on her after i did it. like i got the master sword... but at what COST (the cost is not knowing where my GORL is)
Noted, Guess I gotta get a full bar of stamina.
also, THE MASTER SWORD IS A SHE?
I love that the Master Sword is referred to as a female. For some reason its so fitting.
What happens if you fail to get the two stamina wheel requirement? Does link fall off?
Yes.
I mistaped the button and you actually get raised above the dragon , you can land on it right away if you want to
You get thrown off and it says something like "Seek the blessings of the goddess statue," iirc. I accidentally mashed instead of held, so that's how I got thrown off lol.

How do you get it if your new? Can I just dupe big batteries and get an army of fans to get to godspeed heights to get zelda?

Nice Vid

Wait was that Zelda?! What happened to her? How did she become a dragon?
Big Spoiler but she accidentally sent herself 10 000 years in the past with no way back. At some point, a present time shattered master sword finds its way back to her. She realizes her duty is to find a way to reforge and deliver the sword back to present time Link, and the only way there was was to swallow a divine stone which would turn her into an immortal dragon, taking away her humanity and consciousness in the process.
So she spent 10 000 years wandering Hyrule’s skies as a dragon, slowly reforging the strongest version of the master sword in the process by bathing it in her light powers until Link found her in this cutscene.
she saw the broken Master Sword and decided to commit s*icide.
