As a 15 year veteran of World of Warcraft, I have fallen completely in love with the content and gameplay of FFXIV. Join me on this journey into Final Fantasy XIV, as I seek a new home in Eorzea. It's a long road to Endwalker, but it starts here.
Drop in to the stream for some laid back MMO content, perfect for a second monitor. I'll be progressing through the MSQ as well as stopping to smell the flowers... and maybe cat girls...

Luckily, you can unlock Transmog at lvl 15. You just have t level a crafter/gatherer class to lvl 15 (which will take less than an hour).
Reason why Glamor was invented and something to invest the time to unlock when you get to that point. As the armor in the game really has its ups and downs. Though some pieces look good. Other parts of the sets...not so much. Also, do not laugh at low level armor looks. As they are for the most part based off of historical pieces of armor that real flesh and blood humans (mostly men) wore to battle. Be surprised how tough a few lays of cloth can be to a blade cut. And it is better than bring naked.
I didn't even know these outfits existed in the game lol. Normally it's not efficient to buy armors in the lower levels. Props for trying them on just for the laughs tho.

Oh the good old low level gear from FF XIV. They look atrocious but they are also glorious in their own way.

srsly though, I hope you have fun - there's so much stuff in here, I find new things every day and I've played this game for like... Half a year already, mostly focusing on MSQ.
Also, a suggestion, you may want to check out other quests if you feel like you want to explore. Gameplay core there is basic, but sometimes you can find cool piece of lore or something. Some yellow quests even form chains that tell their own little stories, oddly enough. IDK, I had fun questing in this game, when it was just for the sake of it.
Once upon a time in FFXIV up until Heavensward era. Glamour only unlockable after you reached level 50. Now you can feel veteran's pain of never looking good in any original 2.0 cutscenes.
Dang that's honestly crazy to think about! Guess I'm spoiled compared to the vets 🤣
@@ZerumTV And we are glad new players now don't have to experience that. It was very tough trying to appeal the game to new players with all those limitations...

So I just played magic jobs most of the time.
at least novice hall armor looks pretty good.
Paired with the right stuff a lot of the lower level gear actually looks pretty good. Just not on a bald man in his underwear 🤣
We've all experienced the low level mismatched, rainbow glam when we first started. Good laughs
Wait till he finds the low level warrior lvl9 trashcan armor that doesn't allow you to wear a helmet

@@aratabhist Hang in there, after lvl 50 all gear becomes muuuch better. ...Probably that sounds not very encouraging :'D Also some nice magic armor drops at Brayflox's Longstop.
Nothing compares to the Caster Dunce Cap or the Melee Speedo...

@@gadstvo also with the fact that as a conjurer i had to use 2x2 plywood plus a branch as a weapon made my characters looks funny
Think that's bad? Started an archer character here back during the flying issue in WoW. Early agility armor as a quest reward, a literal harness, looks like something out an S&M catalog. Couldn't get a new piece of gear fast enough!!!! Who put that in the game?
The low level gear is designed to make you want to upgrade it
My Hrothgar entered the snowy wastes of Coerthas wearing an open-chest silk shirt and a leopard-print thong. Very glad he was desined to look like a snow leopard.
You are playing to find "problems", give a chance to this game and you won't regret, the early armors is really really bad tho :b

Nah, I’m absolutely in love with FFXIV, just goofing around. That’s the problem though, I just can’t stop goofing around

Nah, the armor is way better than WoW. I think my last line in the vid sums up why it’s gonna take me so long to finish the MSQ, I just can’t stop messing around 😆

At start of the quest i was like.. Holly shiit my chara ugly af, and then i just pick gear for fashion.. Dont care with def stat tho hahahaha

Or you could use a glamour and have your good gear look like the gear you want..
