- It's just not worth it to me anymore. I explain my rationale as to why I'm giving up my Amazon Prime Membership. I go over the different benefits, what they are, if I use them, and how you should figure out if it's worth it for you.

I spent $31k on Amazon last year. I cancelled back in January for a number of reasons, but after looking at how much I was spending and how much BS I was buying that I probably wouldn’t have if it wasn’t so easy, I decided to see if I could do without it. I also don’t like how Amazon is positioning itself monopolize a lot of industries.
Whoahhhh you spent 31K on Amazon in a year? You should probably reevaluate your spending habits. That’s like 2.5K per month. Why would anyone mindlessly spend that much money every month? I think monthly I spend a couple hundred on frivolous expenses IF THAT.
Please throw the money at me lol jk!

I agree. Amazon doesn't guarantee 2 day shipping anymore, so it's a huge waste for me now to have a membership.
Depends on your location. Many things I buy are same day delivery.
I cancelled my prime about 4 years ago. Haven't missed it at all 😅

Can you tell me, if i use amzon prime after 1 year and i used it for some advantages for some products to by will i be charged for it after not renewing it
*Yesterday I went on Amazon to buy something and I was signed up to the Amazon Prime free trial even though I didn't want it!!! There was no option to buy the item without having to sign up for Amazon Prime!!!! Surely this cannot be legal? It puts me off from buying from Amazon with them doing this shady practice. I cancelled my free trial to Amazon Prime as soon as I had finished my purchase.*

I just brought this up with my wife and was thinking about cancelling mine and being placed in her “Household” but then I peeled back another layer and asked if she would cancel hers and we are actually cancelling both after this weekend, when we finish watching a series I purchased. People are getting 2-day deliveries now? I was thinking of canceling just because I don't get the 2-day guarantee anymore because of the virus. I'm definitely not getting value now.
I think some people still get 2-day delivery, some don't. It depends on your location, the fulfillment center, the item you're buying, etc. Even if the 2-day was guaranteed, I still am cancelling.
Haven't received anything lately in under 5 days. Average can be up to 10 days. That's why we got Prime.

Dude, if your delivery is late you're entitled to a $5 Amazon credit. All you have to do is chat with customer service. During the pandemic I've racked up some $100+ in credit from late deliveries. And I've been taking advantage of the prime student trial and prime student discount, so you can actually gain a net profit if you're aware of these loopholes
I canceled my prime a year ago. Still get 2 day delivery. Do you have any videos explaining options in trading? I use TD Ameritrade which has 4 options. Bid (bearish) call option, ask (bullish) call option, bid put option and ask put option. I know the difference between call and put, but not ask or bid. I’ve seen other videos of yours that I can comprehend so I’m wondering if you have one on this subject. Other people have left me confused.
I've only ever made 1 options trade so I probably am not the most qualified to make a video on options but I can explain the theory behind it thats it tho

cancelled mine this year. I was no longer receiving 2 day shipping on too many items and I could never find a good show to watch. If I need to order something I just wait till I have a few items to order and get the free shipping
In my country Amazon Prime is R$89 a year, which is around $18, so it's pretty cheap. Here we don't have 2 day shipping (but it's almost like that to my address anyway), but it's free shipping for prime itens. If I buy once a month, it's already worth it just for the shipping discount. If you consider prime video, it's also the cheapest streaming platform here. So, I'm way satisfied with it.

I know this is an older video but I just canceled my student prime recently, and this video really affirmed that I was making a smart choice for my lifestyle. In general having prime made me icky because I’m really not a fan of how the company operates but also, there wasn’t a lot of purchases that I needed in two days. And I found that I was spending money unnecessarily. Reality is that if I really need something in two days, there’s people around me that have a prime account. 🤷🏻♀️

I use the video streaming only version of Prime. Most people don’t even know that’s an option. I always keep a list of items I need and use in my wishlist and if need a few dollars to get over the free shipping limit for something I need at the moment, I add as needed.
I’ve used Amazon for nearly 2 decades ago and have never had Prime for shipping. I only get the streaming option about half a year and then pause every streaming option to get Sling for college football in the fall. I’ve never understood why people have 10 streaming services and cable at the same time. I just pick and choose throughout the year to fit what I need at the moment.
I canceled mine because they can't get orders out in a timely fashion anymore. I think my account algorithm is messed up bc no matter what day I order they will only deliver on Saturday. And then there's a coin flip chance it will even be delivered on time. Mother's Day gift ordered on May 1st still not here yet...

I used to have Amazon account and I canceled. all these sub get expensive monthly especially Netflix keeps going up from $7.99 just the regular price now $10.00 🙄🙄

I do NOT have amazon prime. But I'm always wondering if I should have. I live in a remote area where we don't have many stores and most goods are not available. Much of what we purchase is thru Amazon. Currently I wait until I have enough things to order to get free shipping. The only real benefit I would get then, is faster shipping. So I'm still up in the air about prime and whether or not I should get it.
Prime is now $139 a year, they cancelled Jeremy Clarkson and they also have failed more often at a) delivering items in the timeframe that was promised and b) deliver to the wrong place more often, and to add insult to injury are phasing out AmazonSmile which donates an extremely tiny portion of your purchase dollars to a charity of your choosing when you shop. Most of the items I have ordered I do not need quickly anyways and I almost never used Prime Video.
Most items are no longer 2-day delivery items. I kept mine due to amazon fresh, but today they confirmed they will be charging 7$ extra for any orders under 150$. Well damn. I'm just going to get a costco membership since they deliver groceries now through instacart. Walmart shipping is free for any orders of 35$ or more, without needing a subscription. Amazon has lost their edge.

I’d like to know if you’re still without AP. Compared to Netflix and other media services Prime stands out because it includes so many things. I actually quit Netflix recently because it’s over double the cost of Prime and I get a bunch of things in a $10/month subscription.

I did this cost analysis as well, but the Prime Video was the game changer for me. My family watched a lot of TV. Lol
Totally not worth it anymore. Shipping times have greatly increased, many more damaged/ruined shipments, and lately... a lot of of incorrect items being sent to me! On shipping times, in the past 6 months, I've had three different orders that took over a MONTH to arrive. Then, when I go to use the online chat to get help correcting yet another issue, the agents are not knowledgeable, or give outright incorrect information, make constant promises that never materialize, or are simply rude. I'll ride out my current membership, but I will not renew.
I haven't gotten anything in 2 days since before Covid. Even after we got a Amazon distribution center here in Iowa nothing changed. At best things come in 3 to 4 days sometimes takes 5 to 7 days. Gonna cancel this year. Ebay is free has most the same stuff and excepts Paypal. Also never use Prime video. Mostly use Hulu and Netflix.
Humphrey, our financial approach converges. I, too, am canceling my Amazon Prime. I plan to return to the local store to shop for things I need quickly.
I haven't watched a Prime Movie in 6-8 months.
I probably will be canceling Netflix, too, if my family allows me 😂😂😂.
I am hoping Netflix forces us to stop sharing accounts - so I will have no guilt about abandoning my family - by canceling Netflix.

Its funny cuz in India, it only costs under 14 USD annually and its the craziest deal for us Indians : prime delivery benefits, prime video ( ours have exclusives and pretty decent collection ) , prime music, and all the prime books, prime deals etc. Here, not even rival video subscription services ALONE could go MATCH the price ( actually it started at 6.68 dollars per annum here ! And the 13.4 USD price is the new standard price for years here). And it has been here for 4 years since it launched.
But other countries like CA, US and UK could get Unlimited storage FOR photos and videos your plans

I just cancelled mine today. Nothing ever gets here on time....and you have to argue with foreign customer service about returns. Not worth a cent of my money. The company even has the nerve to raise the price of it.
I canceled due to advertising on movies and increased subscription, plus most of the services are getting redundant.
I haven't had any packages on times since 2020 started and it's even worse now with the whole COVID situation. I will be cancelling this coming month until they get their shit sorted out.

I am canceling because they continually put me on autoship when I do not request it. By the time it gets sorted out I've spent money I did not want to spend. I'm done getting scammed.

right next to a big'ish city. dunno if it's as reliable in smaller towns. and ofc. it is only stuff from amazon. companys who sell via amazon mostly don't offer it.
Also wanna add: we pay "only" 69€ a year here, and the shipping costs are usually higher than your examples in the vid.
And on top you can get a credit card with no interest (when paid off monthly) and no monthly cost. When you pay with that card on Amazon you get 3% back in points. Also when you pay anything else, you get 0.5%. The limit is also pretty high.
A credit card like this without the points would cost me more than the Amazon prime membership alone (at least the banks I know of)
I never had prime, instead have a $9.95 / month gym membership.

I had no idea Amazon was even around In High school. Internet was still kind of new in 2001. I was a 10th and 11th grader that year. I didn't even shop online until I was in my Early 20's. Think Netflix the first thing I bought online.

At this point, I think it’ll be more beneficial to have a prime membership if you live internationally rather than in the states.
Most prime items I order take more then 2 days to get to me they often don't even ship in two days and often take a week or more. I joined prime for the shipping and they don't deliver on time anymore. They are pushing China crap more and more, and turning into a second rate ebay. Their ratings on items has become totally fake bs. I may buy a few things from them if I can't get them elsewhere but only if they are my only source.
It made it so much easier that I live in Hawaii so I don’t get two day shipping anyways 🤙. It just sucks that it cost a lot for shipping plus the waiting time. So no point in Amazon prime.

U.S. Prime membership is expensive. I lived in France for a summer in 2017 and annual Prime membership there was 20€ (~$24 U.S.) Not long before viewing this vid I canceled my Prime membership.
We cancelled ours too delivery days were out 10 days so don't need
