I think everyone should be allowed at least ONE bad spending habit. The Zelda book was hilarious to me because that's kind of what I do, I have dozens of artbooks that I just keep merely for asthetics! They just look so cool, and I keep thinking to myself "I'll get through them one day."

Depending on how nice your car is and if you're owning vs leasing, you should actually avoid the drive-thru car washes. The scrubbing pads they use for smacking (cleaning) your car aren't frequently washed or cleaned so you're actually scratching your car or spreading debris all over your car. IMO it's better (cheaper) to buy a power washer to clean the car yourself. It's actually kinda fun. Thanks as always for sharing so much insight!

I already did told you on another video how much I liked your financial master list. Since I had already been tracking each expense for years now, I had a similar spreadsheet showing categories and month columns. Yours was so much cleaner and organized and had that section of formulas for savings that I would have never figured out how to do, much less the section for assets which I also had on mine but it was just a mess and so hard to track or see what my savings progress was monthly or my assets and investment growth. It took me a straight 13 hours to transfer all my information over to yours but you changed my financial life and gave me hope I have never had that I could ever retire. Thanks to you, at 55 years old, I can see that I really can retire someday. Yeah I’m going to be pretty old by then and have to really bust my butt to get there but prior to you, I had zero hope and couldn’t see any way to get there. So again, thank you 🙏🏻

I really liked this one! Super interesting to cut down on the *things* we buy and to correlate that to our spending habits and personal finance. Maybe an interesting video could be eating habits/meals for cheaper or maybe even your favorite homemade recipes? I feel like I'm not alone in feeling bad about how often I eat out lol

I agree with most of these and you do bring up a good point about certain concert tees or other merch that end up not getting worn as much. However, I still like to buy something from the merch table, like a poster, cd, vinyl etc., and especially if it's a smaller band opening up for someone as it's a good way to support them while they are on the road.

Ive been proud of myself lately. Ive always been the type of person that spends quite a big extra to get the top of the line stuff but as of late i purchased hesdphones that i generally would spend between $250-$350 and i opted to buy a pair for $40. I also cut my coffee purchases down. I was getting coffee every single day at dutch bros. Starbucks etc so i decided to start making my own coffee at home. First thiught was to spend $100 plus on a coffee machine but i opted to get something that will work perfect for me but it was only $40! Everything adds up! Been loving your videos man! Budgeting, saving and investing!

I don’t know if you’ve done it yet but could you do a video on “tracking purchases” and go in depth on how you do it, what you do it on (eg spreadsheet) and then you can go in-depth on what you’ve figured out about your purchasing after you started making them. Just an idea! :)

$9 for a car wash! I've saved $3,200+ minus the cost of warm water and detergent by washing my old car with a bucket and brush on a stick about every 2 weeks. Did it yesterday, and, as sometimes happens, but rarely in winter, it didn't rain as forecast, so I had to hose the car down afterwards. Suppose this is out of the question if you live in a big city.

As for iPhones... I STILL use my 7 Plus... battery is still awesome for me. Perhaps it's because I work from home so I can top it up any time and when I am away, it's in my car so I'm charging there. While iOS updates have stopped for me, I still can download and update the latest apps... so far. When that stops, I MIGHT upgrade depending upon how vital any particular app is.

Awesome list, pretty much I don't buy any of that stuff either. I don't drink coffee. The biggest one is I don't pay for amazon prime anymore, I only had it for one year, but a friend convinced me there were other ways, and yes I have managed, occasionally I buy something on amazon but it's minimal, some of the shows were cool, but there are so many sources of entertainment today and so many books and podcasts to listen to that I don't have enough hours to get to everything. It's been a process as well and I aspire to be more minimalist but I think I actually have a lot of things in a tiny home :)

I will say I like physical dvds for the extras. I love extras. If they had them on the digital versions, I would consider not buying dvds. Granted, I haven’t bought dvds in 5 years, due to money crunch/disability. There is also a quality issue that can’t be equaled on digital. So while I would not go completely digital, it does cut down the amount of dvds I will buy.

While some of these things were cool. i felt a lot of them were very niche...and unless you are say.. A Vinyl collector (like me) why would you buy them? Same for DVds, cds etc. Although the concert shirts could be looked at as an investment if its a popular band since Concert tshirts tend to go up in value the older they get. Look at some of the concert shirts from the 80s early 90s. Some of them are going for 200+. Same for Vinyl and and certain books. I imagine that zelda will go up in value the older it gets.

The famous Legend of Zelda book you no longer read anymore may be catching dust on your shelf... but it may be also gaining value. Gaming collectibles are becoming more and more valuable. Especially those related to major franshices (Zelda, Mario, Halo etc.). Did you know a 1990 special edition Seaman Dreamcast can cost up to 1000$? 10x more than the original value. Or that a Saturn game that cost 25$ can do for 400$? Value is in the eye of the beholder.

If “all movies are online” is the reason you stopped buying movies, you didn’t need buy them in the first place as you are a casual viewer.
If you don’t love movies, that’s fine, but about 60% of all movies ever made(yes, it’s that high) are not streaming anywhere or at best you would have to rent highly inferior prints(Amazon rentals are at dvd level of quality most of the time) just to watch something you love.
That being said, I don’t really understand when people buy every movie ever made on blu or 4K because it exists. I have a well curated collection of very hard to find gems. I have movie nights at my house with friends about twice a month so I and others can enjoy them.

OKAY (new challenge) go trough entire month on $ 100 USD = yes it's possible 🙄 (don't ask me how I know) = save as much income as possible 😥 (reasons: not everyone live In USA but all the prices are based on value of USD no matter where you are in the World) 😶
