Another great video! I actually went back to listen a second time because you said something that proves your skillset, 'not great in every climate'. I love that statement! So true and I'm impressed that you are thinking outside of your area. Have a great trip to Yellowstone!
It’s a thought process born more out of seeing what doesn’t work in our climate that does elsewhere…. We go from the rare extremes of over 110 f to -10f…. Not many places have a bigger swing, hotter places don’t get that cold, colder places don’t get that hot…. We’ve got to have our heads in the game for both extremes…. Seems what works for us will work most places but there may be corners that can be safely cut in climates with more temperate or consistent weather!
You mentioned sider crete as the gold standard. Maybe you were ONLY referring to coatings? But to me a full glass tile interior is the ultimate finish for a pool. If you can afford it, I wouldn't even consider anything else. And even if you can't afford it, I'd recommend just waiting to build your pool until you can save up more money so you can afford it. Nothing is as beautiful or as durable.
Aaron, love the videos keep them coming. I am building an icf pool and plan on going with the ecofinish. I just ordered my icf, I can't wait to see the video of how you finish the icf with ecofinish. I'm assuming your gonna put cement board over the icf then a plaster or mortar or something on top of that.
In terms of working with Ecofinish/flame on icf, have you thought about using the flame proof iccf products like perfect block and ef block? The recycled Styrofoam mixed with cement can tolerate direct flame. I haven't seen anyone do this yet, but am genuinely interested if it can be done
Looks like some pretty Amazing stuff. I am looking to start a ICF pool this fall. I am afraid this may be way above my skill level, since it looks like it will be a DIY pool build. We haven't been able to find a Contractor to do a pool in NW Georgia. I'm thinking of doing Buildcrete plaster or having a contractor come in and spray Glasscoat if it will adhere to the ICF. You videos are great. Most likely going with Foxblocks or Buildblock depending on availability and what I can find. The only thing that really has me nervous is the pours, especially the pool floor. I may try and find a concrete professional willing to do it or atleast assist.
Ecofinish specifically has been around since the mid 2000s, their equipment is actually used by Latham in the fiberglass pool factory to apply final coats…. A lot of the pics on their site are 10 years old or more, the finish holds up indefinitely if on a perfect substrate! Everything is about the substrate, if the plaster or concrete or fiberglass below it fails, it fails…. That’s why we and eco are taking the time to get the substrate ironed out to perfection!
@@all3pools thanks for your respond ! That’s what I tought. I’m looking to make a icf pool and I really like this finish, but i’m not sure what to use between the icf and thermoplastic… we have some good winter here and some cold temperature.
@@all3pools I'm interested in building with ICCF because the EPS-crete of the blocks seems much more fire resistant than straight EPS ICF blocks. I'm also thinking about adding a small plunge pool to my building. If the heat of ECO finish application is a problem for straight EPS ICFs, maybe ICCF would be the way to go? I need to look in to that stuff.
@@joequixotic3039 I agree about ICCF ... Would be nice to see if amyone has experience with it and this finish. I'm super curious. Two mfg of ICCF by me in AZ; perfect block & ef block.
I feel that ICF covered with hard surfaces (like epoxy) could crack . For example the wight of water eventually will push the floor down and walls to the side ( soft to touch base under eco finish) and will crack eco finish because it's not stretchable. Or if you will push your body from the wall by pushing your feet against the wall. I like ICF pools but making hard finish questionable in my mind. Yes several years should be ok, but with the time???. There are ICF panels that has plywood boards on inside and you remove them after concrete set. That would be good choice for application of eco finish.

I believe it!

Hey do you do pools in north east ga mountains would love an number with the eco finish on the ice blocks a
can that liner also be used for a flat roof?
how did you do the floor with ICF
It’s lite deck
Would you build a pools in Kansas City?
Depends on the pool and the timing:)
Do you have some picture or video or a 5 or 10 years old pool with thermoplastic in it ?
