I made a sliding deck like in the start of the video. Due to lack of room in our garden for an above ground pool and very specific wishes from the wife, i.e. the pool must not be visible, not to take any room of the garden and had to be easy to clean and maintain. The pump, saltwater system and the liner cost me the most, the rest was just hard en precise work. (And a lot of youtube)
It’s incredible that you managed to do that on your own. How hard was this project and do you have any background in projects and building things like this?
@@MrCrimi really proud of it, took me 2 months to build, a lot of planning and collecting materials before that. I am fortunate enough to have a garage in my garden where I could store all materials. But that garage is also the reason for the lack of space in the garden. It is also the place where the pump, filter and salt water system are placed, so we don't hear them outside while swimming or when we are in the garden. I'm just a handy guy, no building experience, we planned more then building. When we were ready, and the frost was out of the ground it was like legos, just build the plan.

One 'BIG' problem - What if you're in the pool or hot-tub and it malfunctions and starts closing on-top of you? Then you are stuck underneath the cover and will drown in complete darkness. Also, some drunk idiot friend could think it's funny to close someone inside for a minute, and they could drown.
Drill a hole in the covering before using it. A big enough hole that would make you feel comfortable. Simpler solution: don’t get a pool like that.🤷♀️
