Road guy Rob just put out a video about the dangerous indecision zone. 14:50 was also caused by this (I think anyway, that might have been a right turn lane that was on red) It's something that strict enforcement of red light laws via camera exacerbates significantly. People are so afraid to go through a yellow they'll slam on their brakes and not give the people behind them enough room to stop. Following distance is based on average stopping speed, not foot to the floor locking of the tires and e-brake. Can't really blame the poor guys behind the first girl, though the latter one probably did have time to stop.
@@TheGreatPurpleFerret well for me it sounds like the moron on the 14:50 video after initially letting of the gas tryed to floor it to run the yellow. it doesnt seem that the guy infront of him smashed his brakes hard, rather he came to a decent stop
@@TheGreatPurpleFerret I've braked normally with a loaded 8'x5' on behind when the yellow light came on, and an asswipe tradie in a white van blew the shite out of me for obeying the law. It pays to see not only what's around, but also who they are.
@@TheGreatPurpleFerret Strict enforcement of red light cameras absolutely increases the number of rear end accidents, it is a known fact, however the level of injury and death from rear end accidents is nothing compared to the far more dangerous cross traffic accidents which red light cameras do reduce. Property damage is far cheaper than personal injury damage. It comes down to money and is a calculated decision (balancing safety and risk is always a financial calculation).

An Australian magpie-lark (Grallina cyanoleuca) aka mudlark or pee-wee lark - like most birds, the only time it reacts more quickly than that is when it sees food ;)
Just a reminder to leave a good gap between you and the car on front at all times. Police recommend two seconds. If someone in front of you emergency breaks, for any reason, and you rear end them, it's your fault, the police will charge you with leaving insufficient space to stop (usually without fine), and your insurance company will hold you responsible.
Police also recommend using indicators before turning... Note that the police car chucking the uturn- didn't- right before he got hit by the motorbike... (lucky the biker had a crashcam hey lol)
I don't think you would ever need an emergency break while driving. You could just use the brakes, slow down and park at the side of the road before you have your lunch break. If your car all of a sudden locks all four brakes because you need to have a break in the middle of the road, you need a new car.
@@DoubleSlayerXXX not exactly the best comment to be making when the horse float wasnt at fault. Also what you have to remember is that people driving horse floats literally have a live animal just standing behind them not strapped in. The horse box itself weighs over a ton as well as the horse(s) weigh a good 600kg if not more per horse. People need to take into consideration that when someone is driving a float it is equivalent to driving a medium truck, they cannot brake nor stop easily, same goes for accelerating and speed. Its also highly inconsiderate to be making comments such as this as horses to some people are irreplaceable family members, its equivalent of someone running over your family pet and saying "ah well, good riddance" put yourself in someone else's shoes and have empathy and consideration for their situation. What you may find hilarious, actually just comes across as naive and inconsiderate.
@@DoubleSlayerXXX Uncalled for especially as the crash was not the drivers fault, maybe one day when someone causes you extreme pain and the loss of a valued family pet you'll understand but until then just keep on being an insensitive posterior.

@@damstachizz what are you talking about?
@@damstachizz Meant to be, but if there's an situation such as someone braking because of someones stupidity, then you are fine to use whatever, as long as you do so with care... If you want to be picking out about lane choice, the brakechecker was in the wrong lane to be doing this.
He used as much care as he could, avoided the truck in the front who was being brakechecked, but an innocent person got rear-ended, while the actual cause of the whole accident was right up front, shown to be at fault...

Lmao.
I ignored him as I could just see part of a cop car behind him in my offside rear view. White van got pulled over after next set of lights for trying to beat the red.

14:26 breaks my heart for the horse
