12:55 You could've just let the P-Plater in. As soon as you saw they wanted to come into the lane, you accelerated from 28 to 31kph instead of being cautious and decelerating. Giving provisional drivers a bit of courtesy on the road encourages courtesy from them in return.

Glad to not have been the only one picking this. Good that they showed both as the second gave context as to how the fist occurred but they should have been together.
Wrong. DC was letting them in, had more than enough room but for some stupid reason people like the car in front seem to overtake incredibly slower than what the traffic speed is in front of them. Take a look and see how much room they had in front but because they were so slow in overtaking, DC smashes in to the dumb fucks. No sympathy at all. Hurry up and get in there, you're not a semi trailer. Overtaking that slow with 5 metres of room in front of you is your own fault.
it kinda worked out well for the person they hit coz they just hit the person in front of them aswell but can now just say it was all the car at the rear.

I agree. It is the sort of clip that deserves to be in a compilation of "Lessons for L/P platers". It also falls into the category of "driving in hope": that no one is coming when I can't see past traffic, that no one is coming when I pass over a hill/around a curve/over double lines or running red lights. HOPE on the road is a four letter word.
100% but even still, if I am the car in the left lane, I would notice the cars stopped in the right lane and anticipate someone turning in front of them so I would automatically slow down just in case. Might just be be though!
It is interesting to see how many of my fellow Australian road users are of the school: "pull out first then look later". I was taught a different technique but apparently not everyone does it the same way.
Yep, two idiots made for each other, trying to race each other to be the first one to get in a car accident. I'd also like to see the 5-10 minutes before that clip, because I'm sure there would be some great examples of douche-baggery in there too.
Shows how many “drivers” don’t know what red stands for or who gives way to who. With cars supposedly getting safer the skill level to drive it has gone down like the titanic.
Well it's a classic case of who gets to merge first dragrace.. the SUV didn't want to be behind, and the cammer didn't want to get undertaken. Both are also classic a knobhead move
@Dylan Zammit there seem to be a pandemic of this, going on all over the world.. if the other part is doing a illegal overtaking or some cheeky manoeuvre, some individuals loses their mind.. and will themselves forget everything about manners and law. World war 3, everyone vs everyone, is actually happening, but confined to the roads
The truck driver at the end did well with the amount of time he had to react to the cars coming to a stop and him knowing he can't stop in that space so go down the side nice job
10:50 why couldnt you just let the camry in? Feel like the driver wanted the accident to happen. Pretty sure insurance company will see it as both party's fault.
Yep, drivers are required to take reasonable care to avoid accidents, so the DC driver would share partial fault for the accident, as he could have very easily avoided it.
Same could be said about the guy pushing in. In the end the guy in front didnt giveway. He was merging. He has to make sure its safe. Both a dickheads though for sake of argument.
Vehicle was already under brakes, on a wet road, and the car was trying to merge 1 meter in front of the cammer's bumper. Also look, it's a truck or van, not a car (you can see right over the camry's roof). Dickheads who don't give heavier vehicles a bit of space don't deserve your sympathy. The truck knew he didn't have any extra space because he was already on the brakes as hard he could under the circumstances, that's why he was leaning on the horn, hoping the Camry driver would grow a brain and give him some room. Dickhead drivers that have zero concept of driving anything but a Camry don't deserve to have a license. Really? "I'm merging now in braking traffic, good luck everybody". Seriously, don't merge into braking traffic, and definitely don't do it in a way that sucks up someone else's braking distance on a wet road.
Because, despite all that Camry drivers might think, using an indicator is not: 1) notice that you are already changing lanes 2) permission to cut someone off 3) advisable to do when your back bumper is inches ahead of a heavy vehicle's front bumper

Because, despite all that Camry drivers might think, using an indicator is not:
1) notice that you are already changing lanes
2) permission to cut someone off
3) advisable to do when your back bumper is inches ahead of a heavy vehicle's front bumper
i was going to say that
