  • One can never be too fast and furious with Jacob & Co and their watches, especially with its Twin Turbo Furious Carbon. And this time we decided to bring it for a special test to where it was meant to be - in the universe of hypercars and speed, to the circuit of Le Mans, where the famous 24 Hours race takes place each year.
    As the brand pushes the limits with its dual triple-axis tourbillon, minute repeater, mono-pusher chronograph, we decided to push our own limits as well. And although this time we didn’t take our chances in an endurance-focused racing event, we used this opportunity to test the exceptional timepiece made of 832 components and explain to you how it works.
    So if you want to learn how to operate to operate the chrono function, and why exactly you might need it, do watch our video.
    No cars were harmed during the filming process and no records were broken… Yet :)

    0:22 jacob is a very entertaining company.
    they make pieces that look otherworldly beautiful
    ...and pieces that look like they fell out of
    one of them clawmachine-boxes at the fairground

    Excellent video Marc Andre and a great example of engineering excellence from Jacob & Co. Shame I can’t afford it but kudos to those who can eh? Perhaps if I win the lottery…

    Finally someone explained this, thank you! The seconds hand (and the regulators) seem to be stuttery. Does this not affect the accuracy of the timing? I always wondered (I think it is because the fast rotating tourbillon cage).

      what about the flaw on the hand @ 3:52? looks like a wart on my screen. They gave a watch to Marc for review with flaws.

    Poor people wear „Camp David“ fashion, rich people Jacob&Co time pieces … bold, brash and in your face. Kudos to Jacob&Co for finding a niche and successfully exploiting it.

    • @JamesAlexander14
      @JamesAlexander14 Год назад

      So you don’t see this timepiece as engineering excellence, but rather a ‘he can afford it and I can’t’ attitude. I smell reverse snobbery and wealth envy in your comment.

    • @NewtonInDaHouseYo
      @NewtonInDaHouseYo Год назад

      @@JamesAlexander14 I am not criticising the engineering behind these timepieces (e.g. the sapphire case) but rather the questionable styling of some of them. Take a look at the "Godfather" watch for example: I assume the target customer group includes mostly Russians and drug dealers ... There are plenty of classy alternatives out there: Greubel Forsey, Jaeger Gyrotourbillon, Jaquet Droz just to name a few. But of course, one cannot argue about personal taste.

      @@user-zl2sc3bg3g like a lot of things in our watch world it's not always about the usefulness but about intricacy. :)
