I’m 37 and my husband is 62, I don’t have daddy issues. Never was into older men, all my previous relationships were in my age bracket. I just found that everyone I was with was so immature and I was ready to grow up after I turned 21. We’ve been married for 17 years, and been together for 17 years, only took 4 months for him to pop the question. The biggest misconception is that people think I’m with him for the money because he is older. Not the case, everything was always 50/50. And because of me, he has been able to retire early, he has been retired for 5 years now. His medical insurance is covered by my employer 100% as mine is too, we pay zero. I pay the utilities, grocery, pet bills etc. I have 2 kids from my previously relationship and he has 3. My kids are his and his are mine.

I know what you mean @her0807. I do see two points of concern here: 1. They have already been together for 10 years but have not had children. I know some couples choose not to have kids, it just makes me wonder about her sincerity of her love. 2. The money issue. It looks like she has much less money, and there are mentions of "Paris shopping sprees" and "spoiling her". Mind you, I said points of concern, not necessarily red flags. It could be that she does have money of her own and that she spoils him sometimes. In the future, maybe they will have kids. Or maybe he does not want any kids. So she may love him very much. But you could be right.

This is the first time I see a couple, with that big of an age gap, that I truly believe are the real deal. I’m always skeptical in relationships like this, but with them, you can see she’s very wise and mature and I think that’s why she’s attracted to him. He’s smart and has life experience. She has an old soul. You can see the love they have and he didn’t jump into marriage right away. They’ve been together 9 years already. Also, he might make good money (and it looks like she works too) but that’s not a rich man’s house.
