GR8 information, it shows that the Manticore is a winner straight out of the box, and the tips just given in this presentation gives you confidence to experiment, but have "factory setting" as the life raft if things go pear shaped.
Really hope you keep doing these tutorials,i was ready to give up on my manticore it was to sparky and noisy I’m one of those people who used internet settings after watching the reactivity video and doing a proper ground balance i had the best 3 hours with the manticore I’ve ever had it was great. Many thanks.
great video! been having hitting a old beach cut with the manticore this summer and finding alot of old gold and silver! best beach machine on the market!
Default settings are best for all terrain. Only thing changed is 5 tone. In trashy areas, or parks....go to 8 x5 coil. Obviously at the beach .... You would use beach mode. Sometimes more is less.
It is the Minelab Pro Spade - one of the longest shovels on the market. www.crawfordsmd.com/metal-detecting-accessories/digging-tools/minelab-pro-spade
Noise cancelling depends upon the machine and the environment. You're right, it can be best to lift into the air to noise cancel, and on some other popular detectors you have to do it that way or you don't get good results, but it's not always essential. It depends on the machine and the location.
Great video great info Thank you for sharing this with us all watching the 1st episode it sims to me that you can use the information given on some of the settings you could use them on what detector have at the moment especially for people who have upgraded to the Manticore and for newbie’s to this amazing hobby I’m using the Legend at the moment and the sensitivity is something that can help you on different types of ground your detecting on the higher it is you might get to much chatter so by lowering it to a more quitter level so you can hear the target better Looking forward to seeing the next episode and learning more from the experts thanks Crawfords for the opportunity of winning a Manticore 👨🏻🦯🤝🤞👍🏼 #ManticoreExpert
Hello, yes, you're right. Some of this is generic to nearly all detectors. We have some more feature specific Manticore episodes in production which we hope to release in a next couple of months - Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
Hi there. I really did get the worst experience with the manticore on the beach. I own two manticores and only one of them has performed decent. I live in south florida and i do wet sand, surf and deep water all the time. One of my machine has broken several times in a year and a half, lower and upper shaft, coils go bad even when new, no good headphones. Holly crap of a beach detector, decent and deeper than the CTX on wet sand but thats about it. Settings? a complete joke full of gimmicks and useless features like the noise cancel, ground balance etc, those only work one out of 20 times and under certain conditions. I have been a minelab user since 2007, i own 2 ctx, 2 manticore, a sovereign gt and i have tried several other machines. The weirdest of this is that there is almost nothing on the web similar to my issues with the machine, the repair center is always doubtful of my claims and i have had to send them a video of the manticore behavior on the beach. The last time my control box and coil were replaced only to get to the wet sand and starts making an iron noise and reflecting an iron target on the screen regardless of the sensitivity, recovery speed, beach mode or any other setting, update or reset. To the point of going back and detecting with the ctx again and refusing to send the manticore to the "repair center" despite it still have more than a year of warranty under it. Going back to the ctx reminds me of how a detector should perform on the beach, the only down side is the weight (ergonomic issues) but everything else is a 100 per cent more stable machine than the manticore.
Hello, I'm really sorry to hear this. I must say, as you noted, that your experiences do seem like an anomaly. I know this doesnt provide much reassurance, but we are the official repair agent for Minelab in the UK and we have sold a few thousand Manticore since its release nearly two years ago. I don't think we've had one faulty stem yet, and I'd say less than 10 control box issues. I'm not saying your claims aren't legitimate, and I'm truly sorry that your experience has been ruined, but I think here you have just been lucky. I* can honestly say, that for me, and I would put my neck out on the line and say for most other users, that the Manticore is the best detector they've ever owned. As I mentioned, I appreciate that this does not help your experience. I invite you to contact our marketing and communications manager Scott on Scott.ballard@crawfordsmd.com if you are having any more issues and he can try and help. Although we are based in the UK, we will do our best to provide help if we can.
@@crawfordsmetaldetectors thanks a lot for your response and your reassurance words. Really appreciated. My experience has been bad, especially with my own manticore cause my friends manticore only went for repair for the first time now. He couldn't use it because of how noisy the machine is compared with the CTX. He gave me his machine and continued hunting with his CTX. I'm not even bothering to resend the machine for repair cause they replaced the control box and the coil and it's new but it completely refuses to work in the wet sand. You can do dry sand or land with it, I haven't tried on the water yet to avoid more frustration. Something else I wanna add. My gold count hasn't improved at all. The amount of gold jewelry at the beach that I used to get every year with the CTX is triple what the manticore gave, gold chains, earrings not at all. The total gold or silver no improvements, only the total amount of jewelry cause I'm digging way more trash or junk jewelry with the manticore. I consider myself an advance user and still the machine is too noisy to do the surf unless you are willing to compromise and decrease the sensitivity to 16-17 on the surf. On the wet sand 23 is unstable but doable, on the water I only got 21 max, for the surf of the beach was flat I'll do 20 with recovery speed 4-5 but if the water was moving then recovery 5-6 and sensitivity 19-20 and despite my trained hearing I would have to go back a 100 times to make sure the falsing wasn't a good tone. I love the machine but only when it works kinda ok for the wet sand. For the water the CTX is a king.
Factory reset it. Me and my friend go out I use the manticore then my friend uses the ctx. We both know the CTX inside out.. I’ve had the manticore about a year. When I’ve had enough of Detecting, we swap machines. That gives us an extra boost of energy. To see if we can dig out more targets. 👍 it’s hard to say what is better I think the manticore is about exactly the same as the CTX just a bit lighter. And it doesn’t take a year to noise cancel 😂 If the factory reset doesn’t work, just send it back, man they’ll change it. I’ll do some time with it to work out what’s wrong with it and then just swap it.
Hi there @@owenkitto27. I've tried that multiple times, it doesn't work. I'm not the only one. I have multiple friends that use the manticore on the beach and all of them had similar experiences, none of them like mine cause I do double or triple the amount of beach hours that they do. Regarding sending the machine my experience is what I already stated. Those guys say that they find no problem with the machine cause they cannot replicate the conditions of the beach. I'll have to take a video again and send it. It's frustrating going over and over again multiple times and despite their parts replacement it only takes a month to go back to bad

Best machine out there . I’ve set mine up & never touch anything apart from sensitivity { 21-24 max)
Good educational clip 👍

Noise cancelling whilst the coil is on the ground? I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure they got that bit wrong first thing.

Since I've got the Manticore logo tattooed on my arm, u could send me a flag like that, being serious
