    This is exactly what we need Andrew, you have dispelled fact from fiction. Sales people and product brochures are very eager to make a sale. You have methodically proven what these products can or cannot do in the field. As a potential buyer I thank you for your work, my purchase selection will be much easier.

    I will try this box test at home with the 11 and 15, at power 22. Very well done. Thank you, will just do the frame a big wider to accommodate the 15, so, no air space on the edge, only ground packed under.

    Nice one, maybe the only additional thing I've would have done for each coil was to up the sensitivity to the point where it just before it became unstable and then do a depth test. The reasoning behind this is, can the smaller coils be run at higher sensitivity as they might be less susceptible to interference and thus have similar end performance to the bigger coil

    Thank you for going through all of that testing for us. I’ve been trying to decide between the M8 and M9. I’m new to the Manticore, actually Minelab altogether. For 15 years Ive been swinging a Tesoro Vaquero which was very light. I was surprised how heavy the Manticore with stock M11 coil was to swing. Right off the bat I wanted a lighter coil. I think the M9 will be my choice. 👍
    Thanks again,

    Good on you (and Viv, at a guess) for the overview for the Manticore range, CBK. Correlation for other detectors, per versatility and capabilities options. Reminds me before we bought our Equinox seeing a ground test using plastic flower tubs of varying depths in a garden bed. Meanwhile, I could feel poor bun-head Vicky's golden eyes bulging holding her breath... At the end, phew! Didn't forget her! Yes, interesting to see, as I'm sure you were, responses to a half sovereign, it's at the brim of your and mine lists bucket! Although also doing a little, medium and big silvers ground test could interest some, including Jim. Abilities gained in new coil improvements, depth need not be the priority to result in new fields opened or re-taking to old sites anew. No intention of pun punishment, but, happy swinging, Andrew!

    Howdy Andrew, Very nice job on the test. The box frames with the wooden pegs to hold them together are a great idea. I'd trade a few mm in depth for a lighter coil if I was going out on a long hunt. Best to have all 3 though. A M8 for the really trashy sites, a M9 for the long grueling hunts and the M11 for depth. I'm not sure why you thought you'd need the 2 extra frames. You were probably thinking of the good old days when you swung an 800 like I still do. I have to bring a flashlight (torch?) to see the bottom of my holes. Hope you and Viv are doing well. Jan and I are. Your buddy, Roelf

    Great test, I prefer this over an air test. I am going to check and see if they make the lighter coil for the 900. Like you said it does not lose much depth but for older or impaired people it would make swinging the detector easier.

  • @waynearmstrong5233
    @waynearmstrong5233 6 месяцев назад

    Each of the disc's had good depth to them, so there's nothing wrong there, The lighter the load, the easier it is on the arms and back, I think my ctx is gaining weight, and is tiring me out more than it used to, and I deny the fact that my getting older has anything to do with it, and ill keep denying it when im using it as a walking stick. Plus I think my ctx is still cranky with me for taking your Manticor for a swing. Thanks again for that, by the way! Anyway im dribbling on as usual. Nice to see you on a Tuesday evening? Cheers!

    Great test Andrew, you should have tried the same depth on a silver coin as it’s more conducive, gold doesn’t generally give too much conductivity,
    Perhaps you should have tried the same depth in the gold setting

    . there Andrew...Were you once a concreter? Hopefully this is to be used during the show tomorrow night. What nick names are we going to use for the new coils?...M9 = The Boy. M11 = The Man, and we have M8 = The Mate....6 inch could be now called The Little Boy?? What about trying an edge on coin, now that you've done flat...Great segment either way 😀

    Very good demonstration. I think you can set the sensitivity on the M9 a little higher than on the M11, as it is less sensitive to EMI due to the smaller coil size. This is also the case with my XP Deus 2. In the end there is no difference in depth. The M11 just makes more ground coverage but I think the M9 has a better searation in iron infestet sites.
    Greetings ✌️

    If you set the sensitivity higher on the M9 you can get more depth than with the sensitivity set at 20 as seen in the video. And you won’t get that much EMI with the 9” as you would with the 11” if you had it at a higher sensitivity. I was hoping to see it if you set it at 25 or higher how’d it perform!
