Super helpful stuff! Thanks for doing this Andrew. It's a lot of work, I know! I think it's going to help a lot of people though. I was able to reproduce these results with the old software version in my coin garden and a short 1 hour school hunt this afternoon. Steadier ID's and better audio on deeper targets with less sens and more recovery speed. That up averaging with the M8 on the dime is kind of a drag though. Almost no data on the M8 yet, so I don't know if that's a mineralized soil thing or a more general M8 thing. I'd hope (wish?) that Minelab could/would address that in a future update, since the Manticore is "coil aware". It's really interesting to note how different the two search modes are on their intended targets, too. It's kind of a conundrum, for me, as I'm often in highly mineralized soil, full of iron, looking for silver, lol!

Thanks Dave for posting your comments on what you are seeing. It's good to know you are seeing the same results since we have the same soil conditions. Yea the up averaging on the M8 coil is kind of a drag, but I don't see myself using it for anything but trashy sites.

Once you said ground ballance I quit watching …. I’ll be back to finish . .. put your ground ballance at zero brother then noise cancel . You’ll thank me later my friend . Much more depth and better signal .! I can’t wait to get this m8 and the m15 . So nice ! Happy swings brother !

Once I figured out I can't run the manticore at max sensitivity like my other machines, I am really starting to like it, 24 sens. and 6-7 recovery are working well

    Good video.
    Curious.
Wonder how manticore does on those targets with default GB?
    Thanks for sharing.

Looks like hot dirt = ATLC use imo.

By default GB do you mean 0? Some of the programs after factory reset and update came in with GB in the mid 30's if I remember correctly.

Do you know what the M8 coil will cost in US dollars?

Any thoughts on why the targets show in the iron range on the 2D graph?

Iron in the soil is pulling the target into the iron range.

8 inches is better in underwater hunting 😊 good luck mate 😉

Awesome. Thanks. Considering a manticore after being out of the game for over a decade. Clearly position relative to the center line means absolutely nothing. Target ID is still useless….

Would be going better once I get my sniper coil and large coil for my manti lol.
