    1. Avoid fragrance
    2. Avoid scrubs, cleansing brushes, and other mechanical exfoliants
    3. Avoid Essential Oils, most oils are pointless [does this include tea tree oil to treat scarring? Unclear]

Appreciate your video on this topic. Am planning to start a Retin A product. My md gave me a compounded variety from his own pharmacy at his office which also contains hylaronic acid plus niacinimide. Now it says it’s for acneic skin. I’m 66with dry , dehydrated skin. I have the lowest dose and only plan to start once weekly. Do you think I will run in to trouble from this preparation? I wanted the one with the moisturizer base . I probably shouldn’t have filled it there. I told him I really wanted to get my Retin A from India, as so many women do here in the States. I’ve researched this as have many others. Well he refused to give me a script under those circumstances. I can understand his trepidation, but I don’t think this prep will be appropriate for me and I’m afraid I’ll run into more drying than necessary.
Do you have an opinion, Dr. Sam? Actually, I should have posted this to your skincare club. My mistake.
    Thanks, Rachel.

Hi Dr. Sam, I have been watching your videos religiously for the past few weeks as I struggle with my skin. Although alot of your videos adress my skin concerns I wanted to explain my situation for some advice. I used to have combination to oily, sensitive, and acne prone skin. I have been struggling with severe cystic acne for a few years now, I'm currently 18 years old. I have tried everything from not washing my face at all to the 10 step routine and nothing seemed to work. Last week I visited the health center at my school and got a prescription clindamecin and benzoyl peroxide topical gel (probably didn't spell it correctly). It has been working wonders for my acne however my cheeks are extremely dry and flaky. While my t-zone is still relatively oily. I have realized that the 10 step korean skin care routine does not suit my skin and I am struggling to figure out which products to keep in my routine and which products to get rid of. I have decided to keep the basic cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and my acne medication. However I am wondering if a toner, exfoliator, and mask is worth adding onto my regime? People say that toners add extra cleansing and is a great foundation for moisturizer as well as balances your ph levels. With exfoliator I'm wondering if it's important since it gets rid of dead skin cells and clogged pores. And lastly there are the sheet masks which hydrate and clay masks for black heads and generally detoxifying your skin. Currently I would like to keep my skincare simple but with exfoliator, toner, and masks I am really on the fence. What would you advice for my skin?

Please Dr Bunting, do topical retinoids stimulate facial hair growth or change vellus hair to terminal hair,
I have been using very mild 0.05%? La Roche Posay retinol for a few months now. I have a background of prominent vellus facial hair however I feel it may be getting slightly worse. If course there can be so many other causes but I was wondering whether hair stimulation is something to be aware of in topical retinoids or not.

You can use the serums in the morning when you don't apply Differin Gel after rinsing your face with water. • @TheMasochistKnight

      Adapalene: works best for acne
      Tretinoin: works best for antiaging

In terms of removing makeup, I find essential oils to work best so I don't irritate my skin trying to remove my makeup completely. I also find that the silicone mechanical brush helps remove my makeup and cleanses my face thoroughly. I only wash my face at night as well. Is this a bad regimen?

Ελιοάβετ Cartagena try a cleansing oil like Neutrogena’s light makeup removing cleansing oil. Then use a regular face wash. Oil breaks down makeup and dirt better than a physical brush.

I’ve been using Tactupump (adapalene 0.1% and benzoyl peroxide 2.5%) every night for the past five years. I find that while it does keep my cystic acne at bay, my skin is never clear and I still have regular acne. Recently I’ve started to wonder if this longtime usage will have adverse effects in the future (extra sun damage etc.) and if I should try a different product to see if it clears my skin up.

Hi Dr Sam, could you please inform us of what blue light from computer, iPad and phone screens are doing to our skin? Is spf enough to protect our face? I often like to use my iPad in the evening with no make up on, cleansed face and my night time skincare done. Am I opening myself up to pigmentation issues?

I do not have acne and I am planning on using Differin for dark spots, pores and overall anti-aging (I do not have access to Tretinoin). Will Differin work for my intended purpose?

Hello, I’ve been using Differin for about a year now and I’ve noticed taht my skin gets really oily . My skin was never that oily before and I moisturize and use the Neutrogena ultra gentle foaming cleanser. I get oilier in summer but drier in winter . I use Differin every other night. I was wondering what I could do to reduce possible irritation ? Is this normal ?

Great vid! I’ve been using Differin for nearly 5 months and my congested forehead acne has gone! Is it safe to just continue to use Differin and when the tube has finished get more and more and use for the long term? Or do I move on to something else?

I’m pretty sure you can use it long term even if your acne is gone. My brother has been getting a prescription for it for about a year now.

This wasn’t in the video but wear sunscreen! Retinoids make skin more sensitive to sunlight. Wear sunscreen regardless though :)

Only if your skin has been sensitised to the retinoid. If your skin has not been sensitised by the retinoid, then it is not sensitised to the sun

Does essential oil include essential oil diffusers?

    • @ezralord4901
      @ezralord4901 5 лет назад

No, just don't put EOs on your skin where you are also putting Differin. diffusers just make the air smell nice (and some help you calm down)
