I would love a dedicated video on your recommendations for Azelaic acid serums, moisturizers, or other products you feel will help melazma. You seem to have several videos where you mention the ingredient but not one that really highlights a number of different options. I’ve gotten such great products from your recommendations I don’t even want to try to research it myself!

I have enjoyed Differin’s benefits for almost a year with great results . Recently , I broke out in the worse way, where I was covered all over my lower part of my face with these huge marble size, painful breakouts . I did a product detox and after weeks of healing and normal skin, I re-introduced Differin and again the breakout resurfaced. Is there a time when Differin can betray you and produce adverse effect to those originally intended? Needless to say, I plan on avoiding Doff, but when it works , it does beautifully so, I am preparing for the mental withdraws :(

They do a conditioner too. It's a white bottle with pale pink cap. Has fragrance obviously but not that methyzio something ingredient that dr dray says is bad. Hope this helps!

Hi Dr Dray, huge fan of your work here. What would you suggest to target the hormonal aspect of acne safely? I've been using Differin for more than a year. My skin went through intensive purging for the first few months and did become better. However, I noticed before my period comes, I would have new acne breakout, which I feel is impeding my acne recovery process, adding new scars.
I am a single female and have no plans to get pregnant for the next 5 years at least. Should I consider being on birth control since my period is the reason why I always have new acne breakout? However I am concerned of the side effects on my health and thinking if it's worth it just to have clearer skin.
I also do admit that I can be be stressed out from time to time, but I can't help it and feel that it's part and parcel of life. Does it mean that I'll forever have acne if there's always gonna be stress in my life?
How I wish you're able to open for consultations internationally..😅

Have you heard of Spiro? It could be worth visiting your doctor or derm about. It’s commonly given to women with hormonal acne like me. Birth control fucked my emotions and health up really bad and so far Spiro hasn’t given me almost any side effects which has been lovely.

I’ve been using over the counter Adapalene for over a year that I mix 50/50 with 2.5% benzyl peroxide and is the only thing that keep pimples from coming back. For moisturizer, I’ve had problems with heavy oil production and I hate being shiny. Putting some on makes me feel even more greasy so I don’t know what to do about that.

IPL made my melasma much worse and gave me melasma where I hadn't had any previously. I also tried the pico laser and that one didn't make my melasma worse, but it also didn't help much at all. Not enough to justify the cost. Melasma is so tricky and seems to react differently in different people.

Will differin give results when applied in this order...1× a week(0.3 adapelene) 6× a week(20%Azelaic acid). Currently Im using 20% AzA only at night for comedonal acne(bumpy texture) and I see some difference but not big. Previously I used adapalene 0.1% daily for 5 months but it only gave me cystic acne(which Ive never had). So I stopped after five months. Nw I wish to start adapalene 0.3%. Is it a good idea?

Make sure you use wrap around sunglasses. Stay out in the shade as much as possible. Also use hats. Reapply spf every two hours. Apply spf at least 15 minutes before going out. Your melasma could get worse if you don't take these precautionary measures. I'm sure you already knew. Good luck!

From everything I’ve read & heard on these videos 1. Use retinol at night. It looses its potency if exposed to the sun, even with sunscreen, and works better at night anyway. Also, you can’t use 2 different retinol products.
