In todays episode, so much has happened! We've had an explosion on the site, where plots have been sectioned off, quarantined and will need excavated. Check that out in my video!
I also make huge progress at the allotment plot. I show you how to create a no dig bed ready for spring. Giving you an abundance of crops.
I also have a compost and manure delivery. A huge stock ready for mulching beds, filling beds and ready for the sowing and growing of spring.
I also organise the polytunnel from First tunnels.
I fill the middle metal raised bed with compost and manure, then I show you how to fill a raised bed and plant it up for spring salads.
I added green hoops that will be perfect for securing the fleece:
Link to the green hoops:

I discuss fleecing the delicate crops using andermatt bio degradable fleece, made from plants. Link to Product:
andermattgarde...
I visit linda at the @Feelgoodgardens for a coffee and catchup about spring sowings and a plot tour.
I also discuss netting the alliums in preparation for allium leaf miner attacks.
Plot updates: the new shed is in preparation created from old doors and windows.

Thank You for such an amazing mention Danny 😊 I'm actually speechless which as you know is very rare! 😅😊 Thank You! ❤
Very rare! Bet vince Is happy with the silence 🤣❤️ you're very welcome xxx
It's coming along so well. I feel like we're all getting to that time where we're so excited for Spring! Couldn't agree more about Gemma, I've learnt so much from her channel! Also, I hope you know how much YOU do for this community, we all wouldn't be anywhere near where we are without you!
You are always very productive at your plots- and it’s very motivating especially when the weather is so cold! Great that you have a good support network and someone to have a cuppa with at the plot!
Hi Danny you really have two great women backing you and your doing the same for them that’s so wonderful I always watch both channels Linda and Gemma, lovely tour Danny and the plot is looking great happy gardening 👩🌾 ❤
Watching you dig out that soil, and thinking, what a difference to last spring when you were out of commission with the rib injury. Carry on 🌷
Funnily I watched that video today to remind me what I did last year and I was like ouch!!!!
Heartbreaking for thise poor plot holders, I'd be devastated.
Congratulations to you and Linda, crack out the posh biscuits!!
Thank you Jen! Oh i know terrible isn't it. Oh i can't!! Im on a diet. I had an orange lol
@TheGrowUpChannel I'm on a diet too. 😞 Maybe by the time Malvern swings round, we'll be unrecognisable. 😆
@moorsidegardener hahahaha!
Hi Danny. Congratulations on your 8K subscribers 🎉 You have a great gardening community going on your allotment site, well done 👍 Your brassicas are moving on in your polytunnel now, you can see how much they have grown. Take care, Elaine 🥦🥬🥒🧄🧅🥕🫑🌼🌶😁👍
Wow Danny it sure looks like you have a busy couple of weeks ahead of you. Can’t wait to see all the daffodils, my favourite spring flowers. They remind me of a favourite time in my life living in Wales. Your allotment looks like a really great community which is wonderful. So glad to hear you mention Gemma, she really is a very special gal! Still way too cold for us here in Nova Scotia 🇨🇦 where we are having loads of snow and -12 degrees🥶🥶😫. Between you and Gemma you are giving me lots of inspiration for when we can start working in our gardens.
Plenty to do indeed haha but I will get it all done. I know i will. Still so much to do and design. I'm excited to start growing up haha! I mean archways. Oh for sure Gemma is a wonderful friend. Happy growing for 2025!
Good morning Danny, you are really going for it,its going to look AMAZING and lm looking forward to seeing how your new plot neighbour gets on ,it will make such a difference seeing that plot get used.As for Linda oh she is one HUGE ray of sunshine 🌞 and l love watching her...isn't she so funny ❤ That old shed of yours the one your pulling down could be turned into another tea/coffee relaxing with friends place, then Linda and all can come to you,how lovely would that be.Thanks for sharing Danny 💞🌿🍃🌿🍃🪴
We love Gemma 😂❤
😂😂😂🤣😂🤣😂
I feel so sorry for the plot holders affected. Thank goodness nobody was hurt! You do really amazing things for this community Danny! I agree the channels you mention are brilliant! ❤
Aww thank you! Yes its devastating! Those poor gardeners :(
Hiya Danny. There’s no stopping you when you get going at the plot. It’s going to be a good year, I feel it in my water 😆😆😆. What a supportive guy you are, with all the mentions of other channels and the mentoring you do.golf star 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Have a great week. Take care. Mags.
How awful for the other plot holders having all that happen but I'm sure you all will help them out once they are able to get back on .. I'm a relatively new tuber myself, and it's been brilliant to watch your channel grow and how much support you give others, especially linda, who, by the way, is hilarious 😊
Oh hello sarah! You have a channel? Yes its devastating as their plots are quarantined. The whole lot has to go. Sheds the lot. How sad!!! Linda is amazing ♡
@TheGrowUpChannel I certainly do have a channel 😀 which I'd live on if given half the chance lol
@@Sarahlottie94 I'm so pleased I give you a giggle, 🤭 thank you ❤️ x
@@TheGrowUpChannel Awww thanks Danny ❤️ x
The Polytunnel looks great and already productive.
I just need a week of dry weather and a week off to have a good tidy now .
Your face when you ‘d finished that last bed… gleeful joy 😊
Oh Rita. It's been a bug bear for weeks. I just need to keep going down the plot now... it'll soon come into place 😊
@ it’s exciting though isn’t it! I’ve been busy repairing beds and relaying bark paths this week… looks lush… feel good factor 😊
Rita we are very similar. Yes haha! Very very exciting!
Commiserations to those plot holders affected by that explosion. Hope they keep an eye on rub off being in winter.
Congratulations to you and Linda on reaching new milestones. 🎉🎉🎉
Everything's being removed, sheds, fences, plants.. everything. Poor guys! I feel for them! Thank you very much from me and Linda . I'll pass on her feelgood fanmail😂😂😂
Danny I’m in the US and getting ready to start a RUclips gardening channel, I appreciate all that you do ….really enjoy your channel….
How scary. Glad no one was hurt. So sad for the Plotholder who can’t access their plots. 😢
I know Emma! It's terrible. They say it'll be done in weeks / months. Poor men have no growing space for spring. Terrible
Congrats on you milestones, both you and Linda. Hope that leak doesn't travel down the allotment and do further damage.
Its actually the last plot before it runs into a field.. but what a disaster! Those poor plotholders
@@trold1969 Thank you Trold ❤️ x
Another great video Danny you'll be at 10k in no time. Just started uploading videos mostly for me to remember what and when I have done things but made them public in case someone accidently watches one and likes it.
So close, but still so far from 10k! Haha! Oh fantastic! Goodluck with your channel! Danny 🌱
You seem like such a kind and nice person. You've got a great spirit.❤ I hope you grow food in abundance this summer. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Love Gemma 🥰
I love your cheeky sense of humour Danny! I watch Gemma, Linda, Tony and quite a few other gardeners too.
Haha why thanks Jayne 😂 that's good! We are good bunch.. except tony 😂😂😂❤️
Congrats to you both on hitting huge milestones
Thanks tony mcneil! We won't forget you. Don't worry 😂
@@simplifygardening Thanks Tony ❤️ x
Hi Danny,
I hope they clear the plot this year and buy new sheds and equipment etc they have lost for them, hopefully they will complete it this summer and it doesn’t drag on, that’s a big excavation 😢 job, how upsetting for them 😪
Enjoying your channel as always, a breath of fresh air when l see your new videos 😃🙏❤️🌺
Owmy thats just so sad for the plotholders 🤕
Yhea tullips!!! 🐝Thanks for the great video🌻
Gemma is lovely, and her uploads are brilliant. ❤
She's okay. I guess 😂❤️
Danny. Great video as usual. Your enthusiasm shames me into action, even on col and wet winter days.
I've got a thousand million dandelions to dig out of my brand new first plot, well, it was brand new a few months ago, and I'm still digging :)
Oh I feel for you. Just make sure to never let them go to seed. That's the way to master them. Annoying aren't they!
Aww I hope that those allotment holders are able to get back on their allotment soon!
I agree, Jem always comes across as warm and friendly.
Well done to Linda @Feelgoodgarden, that's amazing, and well done Danny @growup for 8k, both so deserving.
PS last week we woke up to an explosion in the village, and then the screaming of fire engines!!
A burger van was set fire too causing all the gas bottles to explode. Taking people's sheds and fences. Fire then caught 2 cars, a shed and a transit van. All just pure metal now.
The arsonist was caught at the scene and arrested.
We live in such a sleepy village, it was like an episode of Midsummer night mystery..
So much work! Congratulations to you and Linda, on all your new subscribers. Hope the plot holders affected by the explosion can get back to their plots, soon.
Thank you ann! Sadly they will be removing everything from their plots. Even their sheds will be taken and destroyed. They'll have all new, however it's a slow process. Devastating :(
@TheGrowUpChannel So sad. Soul destroying.
@annpryce6476 very much so. They've been on their plots over 50 years..
@@annpryce6476 thank you ❤️ x
❤ hi Danny. 😊😊
Hello 😊❤️😊❤️
Gem at the garden is great, been a subscriber for 2 year
Congrats to you and Linda well deserved
Aww why thank you! X
@@DadsPassedDownPlot thank you ❤️ x
I've only got a couple of subscribers, but it doesn't matter. I love the allotment and find all your channels inspiring..
That explosion was awful wasn't it but thankfully no-one was hurt.
Fair play you're doing so well with healthy eating .
Walla walla onions sound interesting.
Readly is handy isn't it.
You've been really busy again Danny. I think that raised bed in the middle of your polytunnel looks amazing especially all planted up.
Congratulations on 8k subscribers and well deserved too! 👏 👏👏
I love your enthusiasm 😅
So nice having a cuppa and catch up with you yesterday. Thanks for the lovely mention too 😍
Fabulous video as always ❤ x
Devastating for that corner of the site linda. Thank you very much. I had to mention you, you paid me 😂. Lovely to catchup. X
@TheGrowUpChannel I paid you with a ☕️ and 2 tangerines 🍊 🍊 😂😂😂 x
@Feelgoodgardens 😂😂😂
🙌🙌❤ to you and Linda 🎉
The plot looks great, too 😉
How utterly devastating for those plot holders affected. Heartbreaking. I don’t know if i would want to eat anything from the plot for several years now. It seems too big a risk as they’re very toxic 😭
Busy week. The salad box looks lovely and the new bed is looking fantastic too.
I have Readly. I love the app
Have a great week. 😀
Absolutely clare! So glad nobody was under that when it went off as it was prime garding time too. The morning. People were on site and heard the explosion and the flash! Scary! So pleased with the saladbox ! Readly is so handy isn't it! Danny 🌱
@ So fortunate no one was hurt 🙏🏻
Congratulation Danny and
Linda wishing every success, hoping you have a great year.Keep that lovely smile Danny tfs sylvi🎉🎉😊
Thank you Sylvia! Xx
@@SylviaCostello-lu1bu Thank you Sylvi ❤️ x
Enjoying watching the upload, Danny. You have worked so hard. it's looking brilliant. It's so cold that the squirrels are enjoying bulb suppers.
Thanks cheryl! Im ticking the jobs off. They are certainly pinching some bulbs haha
Brilliant video Danny, Linda seems to be a wonderful friend to you. I like it when you have your tea and coffee pit stops.
Wow I certainly wouldn't want to live near one of those electrical transformer thingy's they are hazardous.☢ Thanks for sharing, bfn.🐞🌻🌱
Never time to rest on a plot
Oh isn't that the truth haha! I got most of my jobs done before linda arrived haha or it's game over lol
Another banging video Danny 💣💥🤭
Haha oh Ian....
I really don’t don’t how you do it, you seem to have it all under control and organised, well done you! I only have a garden and I don’t know what I’m doing or where to start! 😂
Oh I don't know about that Cara! Haha! Fake it till you make it hun 😂😂 you'll get there !
Ohhhhh a little squirrel havoc at the plot.....digging all those tulip bulbs. Hope they aren't around to mess with your toms.
You'll love those Walla Walla's. Mine actually store for 4 mos. in the cool garage. I remember when you told me how funny that name was.
CONGRATS on the 8k🥰🥰🥰
Oh I thought it was Linda’s new brassica cage 🤭🤭. But really glad no one was hurt. Gotta resow my onions 🧅 as they were crap. Have a fab week it’s all looking quite nice and green, Ali 🥶🥶❄️❄️❄️🇨🇦
I love watching Gem too xx
Morning xx you never know what the day will bring xxx you work hard xxx🐈🐈🐛🐛🐛🐛🕵️🕵️🕵️
ohhh that long raised bed all filled up males me want to lie in it and make compost angels lol 😇
Wow that explosion, those poor plot holders. Thank goodness that nobody got hurt . Congratulations to you on your 8000 subscribers 👏👏👏💜
Congratulations on 8k subscribers, you deserve success Danny as you know your stuff and you’ve got a heart of gold 🎉♥️
🎉thank you Angie 😊🌱
Looking good Danny x
You won't regret growing Wala Wala onions they are delicious, l promise ❤
Loving the content, just added you after watching this episode. Hopefully give you a bit of 'shedspiration' from my plot to yours to replace the shed of horrors. I need to pull my finger out and get content created and get some videos up. Keep going, great work ❤
Where I live, it's still too early to put anything in the ground. Our time is about April when I can really get out and start planting cool crop veggies.
Nasty oil in those transformers - very poisonous, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
We had to close our factory for a weekend when our onsite substation was upgraded to a friendlier oil.
Horrific isn't it. They claim it's going to be tonnes and tonnes excavated out. Terrible
@@TheGrowUpChannel Yep, it is soooo toxic! Thank the lucky stars it was not your plot!
Then again, no videos for a while may be a blessing for many🤣😂🤣
@DigwellGreenfingers 🤣🤣🤣 I'd honestly give up the plot, if it was me. Personally.
@@TheGrowUpChannel With ours, no damage just a bit of seepage over 40 years, they dug out about 1.5m of subsoil etc and it was bagged as taxic waste. A bit scary as we used to have to walk on that ground to get to the diesel tank for the generators.
@@DigwellGreenfingers 😆😂😆
Nice update Danny , busy busy busy lol , pleased everyone is OK after the explosion crazy isn't it , yeah I'm hopingbto start my channel soon busy trying to make plans to get things right from Day 1 any advice gratefully received 👍oh and yes congrats to you and Linda great achievement for you both
Very dangerous jim! Oh how fantastic! Im sure you'll enjoy youtube. Thank you very much. From me and Linda 😊❤️

@@Jimsraisedbedgarden Thanks Jim ❤️ x
@@Feelgoodgardensyou make it so easy for me Danny & Linda , your both very knowledgeable, very helpful and with the Live shows I've made a few friends already and chat on Instagram with them so thank you Danny and Linda
@Jimsraisedbedgarden Awww that's nice of you to say Jim, thank you 😊 I'm so pleased you've made friends too ♥️ x
My sympathies for your fellow allotment holders as lot lost not just the soil etc compensations for soil, structures, equipment, seeds, plants, shrubs and much more as well setback emotionally and financial well being. Can they move the transformers out of the allotments for health and safety of public place etc
Inquiring mind's would like to know if that was a mug off coffee in your house, or was it a cauldron of the good stuff - awesome energy, tips and advice Danny
Absolutely Mark! The sheds everything has to go. Haha! It was for sure a mug of coffee 😂😂 but wouldn't mind the hard stuff too. Haha! Cheers Mark! Happy growing! Danny 🌱

I would keep the membrane down and put the potatoe buckets on it for one more year as couch grass is pain.
Ive thought this too! A nightmare isn't it! Urgh. Dreading it tbh...
@@TheGrowUpChannel I put two layers of thick cardboard on couch grass but within 6 months it was back, I would give it another
12 months but I can understand you wanting
To get on with things especially with this settled weather.
I could do with some dry weather so I can finish some of my bigger jobs outdoors done. Smaller jobs we can move inside but outside is really muddy, mind you so is inside😂 with 2 dogs and me. Guess it's nice to bring outdoors in at times 😂
Shame about the transformer but on the funnier note you really reminded me of my poppy from the nativity on that coat! 😂
That's awful about the explosion! I don't think I would trust the soil, even when it is replaced. I feel bad for the plot owners. As for you, the plants look so beautiful in the bed. So nice!
Wow! Hope no one was under the transformer when it blew! What a mess. You can all pop over and chip in once all is replaced. Good thing it wasn’t summertime.
Yeah! Onion seeds! Mine are up (leeks, shallots, onions/sweet & long keepers) except the Walla Walla as they were old seed, but the other old seeds popped so we will see. The walla walla don’t keep well and would need to freeze if they do make it. Started early this year to make note how they perform compared to later start.
Looking forward to spring bulbs also. We have a bit of a wait here though.
😂😂How did you know I had an uncle named Bob?
Nobody was hurt thankfully. Would love to help but I won't be going near those plots 😂 if it was me personally, I'd be asking for a new plot. I'd always worry what's still in the soil. I've offered some of my tunnel so they can grow though . They are in limbo at the moment. Sadly. Oh thanks for the walla walla advice. Bobs everyone's uncle 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
have you the link for the bio fleece net please Danny ? so glad everything is sorting out for you well done
My apologies. The link is now added :)
@@TheGrowUpChannel haha no problem you are a busy person ta danny
Amazing results, but perennial weeds take time and patience even if you use herbicides.
Oh, I'd never use herbicides. Time and patience is fine by me. I have too many hedgehogs i have adopted that call my plot their home ❤️🦔
❤
🙌❤️
Sorry to hear about the electrical disaster, but I'm sure it will not be as bad as it seems. I have had an actual sub station blow up in my job (Falkland Islands) and it wasn't that bad. Take care, at least you were noy near it when it exploded.
❤
Oh my goodness....can I ask how much all that compost and manure costs in Wales? If you don't want to reveal it, that's ok. Walla Walla onions are great...from Walla Walla, Washington USA. I can't believe how much work you have done on your new plot! It's all coming together! Good work!
OMG that's awful. Poor plot holders. Is that why they shut the road the other day?
Yeah that's correct. Terrible isn't it.
@TheGrowUpChannel awful. Hope you're ok where you are.
@Beckyslifeandallotmentdiary thankfully yes. It was very close to me though! 😫
@@TheGrowUpChannel Scary stuff.
Doesn't that dark top coat just make you excited for all the growth to come.
I grow walla walla every year, they grow massive 😮 i pay £1:29 off Ebay for about 800seeds.
Awful news about your allotment. I can’t imagine how the plot holders are feeling 😢 Thank God nobody was hurt
Your plot is looking fab, you keep chipping away at it.
Life would be so much easier and cheaper if you made your own compost. Xx
Absolutely jen! Terrifying really. Thank you. Ill be finished for planting out, for sure! I really don't think I'll ever make enough compost for my plots 😂 it's a myth! haha!
@@TheGrowUpChannel nooo, you can do it!
Honestly, there’s nothing more satisfying than making your own 🥰
Hi mate
Thanks for the mention …where do you order your compost from?
Hey Carl..from our plot shop. :)
Hi. Can you do a review on the heater please. I just bought a greenhouse and it’s to cold out there for me so I need a heater and don’t know what one to get 🤷♀️ thanks
Hi Danny great video. When I left a comment saying I grow Fasto and Walla Walla onions and for you to try them. You messaged back saying wow I can honestly say I've never heard of either thanks john. In your video it was very different. Not been funny or anything Danny. Take care Danny look forward to your next video 👍
Oh sorry john! I must have read that half asleep! I still haven't heard of fasto. My apologies!
Hi Danny … I still have a lot of last years leeks in the ground … using as I need … do you think I need to harvest now? … in case of leaf minor
🌷🌷🌷🌺🌺🌺🌷🌷🌷
Do you use heater inside your greenhouse?
Hace buen frío
Where did you get your green hoops on your metal beds? Do they adjust in height?
Vicky. I'll add a link to them now. They come as one length but come with extenders. So you can add two together! Give me 2 mins...
Danny what camera do you use for your videos???
