Its nice to know "professionals" and experienced track guys don't win every time. It certainly makes a change from people on RUclips always having perfectly seamless build videos and track videos. Good work guys
I've done loads of trackdays in my shed of a DC2 over the past 6 years, completely trouble free. Last year it came off the road for major bodywork/suspension/brakes/engine overhaul. Did my first trackday in it since the rebuild a few weeks ago and the gearbox exploded after about 15 minutes on track. Love it!

I’ve had a 182 for quite a few years now, when I first built it, I replaced everything (not exaggerating, I’ve spent far more than I should have) and it’s been perfectly reliable.
When he was black flagged Phil should have given it the "don't you know who I am?". I find that approach always helps smooth things over when dealing with figures in authority - police officers, magistrates, etc.
Is that truly painful enough though? I recon a Pontiac grand prix would be "better", as it's factory transverse mounted LS4, but he'd have to both import it, and custom manual swap it, as they where auto only. It's near lambo levels of difficulty, and far to expensive, just to join the fwd club.
Just done the same and bought a RB clio 197 for similar reasons! Got other stupid cars with money ploughed into them but been really surprised how good this has been for a cheapy stop gap car to have some fun in 😁
Don’t know if it’s been said already but check little plug that goes into alternator. If that drops off (quite common) battery low warning comes on even though battery is charging.
A lot of the Renault hate is ill founded, it's always been cool to hate on them, but they really aren't as bad as many people make them out to be. Much as I'm a Japanese car enthusiast (mostly AWD) now, I still miss my Clio 197 and fully intend on buying a 200RS in the near future. One pretty much the same spec as what James has would be ideal for me.
You guys should have someone film from the trackside, although I'm not sure that's allowed in this current climate 🤔🤔🤔 either way, it makes a fun watch 👍👍👍

A jack is for raising and lowering the car - NOT supporting the car. Sorry - not using jack stands is unsafe and irresponsible. If you’re using a jack to support the car - ARE you willing to have that jack fail at ANY time? Not me. I’d rather be safe - and alive (or not severely injured (Changing a spare tire- you can put the spare under the unibody or frame)
