God, can you imagine being the guy who hit Phil's Porsche!?! I'd be bloody mortified, let alone fearing the wrath of the owner and insurance consequences. Fair play to the guy for fessing up quickly and well done Phil for being as decent as you can about it... It sucks, but that's life and it could be a lot worse.
I had my car bumped this week and bumper slightly damaged, no trace of who did it. I fitted that bumper brand new last year and have been trying to take care of it, so "murder" sprang to mind when I came to find the damage and nobody decent enough to own up to it.
For real, my car got hit in a carpark at a pub, lady came to reception, reception found our group and one of them knew it was my car expecting me to be pissed, she was honest about it etc and I don't think anyone could be mad in that scenario - real thankful honest people still exist because she could've hit it and dipped and there would've been nothing I could've done seeing as it was on private property.
Can you imagine telling everyone about your first ever accident, " so what did you hit?" .... " an RWB 964 Turbo, you know, that famous one on RUclips 😅😅

I have a can checked 28 on my 996 for egt via ecumaster unit. Great bit of kit
UNHOLY...its the only word to describe the noise from that 964 when it wheelspins off the line during the intro. Pray for forgiveness Phil....Awesome car mate. 👌
I can imagine that the RWB body kit cost more to be done than what the car cost new without it, I think it's awesome that the guy that does the kit comes to your place to do it all by free hand work, true master craftsmanship

The display looks legacy. Surely, the supplier could have sourced a fully round LCD display, as they are readily available.
Gaz is the best, but I would dare say you are too, for keeping that off insurance. Bravo, Phil. Well done.

I'm reminded again just how much nicer the LHD lower dashboard is on your car. UK RHD 3.3 turbo's had to do with the old-style rectangular knee pad like the G-body cars. We also didn't get airbags until the 93-94 3.6!
I wonder if the lower dash is a possible retrofit....

Good on ya for keeping it away from insurance. I'm sure it wasn't exactly cheap, but compared to a new driver making a claim hitting a valuable old porsche - no contest.

Firstly, kudos to Gaz for the insane job of colour matching the repainted bits.
Love the functionality of the gauge but it bothers me that it’s a small rectangular display taking up a lot of circular real estate. Would be so cool if CANChecked could do a custom circular display that fills the entire space. Just nitpicking though.
Nice work with the laptop configuring the new gizmo just one little detail that would bug the hell outta me is that the blue don’t match the rest of the clocks maybe reprogramming to red will match the screen with the needles for a smarter look n prob be less in your face when night driving ❤❤

I'd love to be able to get a round display to do the same, seems an oversight of canchecked or perhaps round displays not quite on the market for them yet.
Still…..not every new driver can say they have part investment in a modified 964 😂

Why not use it to replace the gauge that's on the left of the tacho? Seems like it makes more sense there and then you can keep the mileage ticking over, and the output for the Haltech. Especially since the left one is just oil pressure, water temp and warning lights. Seems like stuff this replacement gauge takes care of.

Of all the cars you could have hit in the carpark, this was definitely the worst 😂 poor lad though, I’d say his heart sank.
Luckily the speedo isn't hooked up yet on that test drive 😂

Not an expert by any means but I've repeatedly heard that EGTs are significantly more meaningful during load and/or high RPM, discrepancies at idle are to be expected especially with particular manifold / spark / fuel system setups.
That screen would be epic if it looked like the new gen and circular LCD!

Looks like the gauge is a custom android ROM that's been reprogrammed to accept haltech inputs, most likely this is something that will be fixed in a software update. The designers probably thought people would want it portrait and designed it to that spec, with landscape being a feature of the android ROM display, it looks wonky because it wasn't designed from the ground up as a landscape gauge.

Maybe a giveaway of the speedo (if you said you had no use for it) for anyone who purchases something from the shop in a given period of time 😅/jk it's probably not worth it if you want to switch back to it
Anyway, love the 964 content, amazing car and I have a few of the RWB cars posters from Petrolified. And kudos to Gaz for fixin'er up so quick! He's an artist!

Fibreglass is really easy to work with, you just use more fibreglass.

Hi Phil, on my 930, i am using Motecs M130, and currently, i have a pod on my dashboard with 5 clicks but it only lets me go from low boost to high and nothing in between.Do you have any suggestions?I appreciate it..Kevin
I would never swap analog speedo to some screen. First time ever I am not 1000000% on board of what Phil is doing.

I'm guess your refering to the bit where the battery on the car was flat. Check it out later in the video, it's fine.
You know if it could display lambda on each bank of a v8 on a haltech?

Yeah I think it could do that as it just takes the can data that a Haltech spits out. We're not selling them no.

It's gear limited. 3rd onwards is unlimited. It was for the sake of not breaking rockers arms on launches and skids. I don't think it needs to be so low now though so I may bump it up a bit.
Wait, they left the clock in there and decided the speedo was the least important gauge in the cluster?
Yes as the clock has some very important aditional features, and the speedo is now displayed on the new gauge so nothing is lost.
If the gauge was full on circle display that would be perfect, looks of this would bug me terribly.

How on earth do you keep that engine cold without a radiator . i didn't think you could even air cool a big power turbo engine

They don't cut corners they make the corner conform to them XD
Lots and LOTS of oil. Like seriously, the 3.3 turbo takes somewhere in the region of 12-13 litres of the stuff (depending on how much of the old you can get out at oil change time).

i hate that gauge ! It is very usefull, but ugly IMO, too far from original gauge look which was great
I don't like it. I like the original look . I have a 964 turbo 3.3 all original beautiful. These cars are becoming so rare and from an area. Modern stuff looks wrong. Why not buy a new 992 if you looking for modern?
Mine is far from original and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's a 600whp super modified widebody 964 Turbo. It requires a data readout to make sure I don't blow it up and this works really well.
