Loving the Harry's Garage reference. Top work as always and love seeing all the behind the scenes tinkering that goes into making your cars what you want them to be
It looks great with that set up! Perfect wheels and ride height (even better washed I’m guessing 😂) please please please can you design and make an exhaust to make the 997.2 turbo sound great too? Best sounding exhaust so far is the soul performance from the U.S, there’s such a gap in the market for one! Have you sold the 992?
Recording with Iphone - If you want wind protection on a Iphone use a Saramonic SmartMic with lightning connector, comes with dead cat and can take some serious wind before it gets interference. Microphone plugs in either towards you or away and apart from looking a bit odd works very well. I also use the wired Saramonic Lav mic for piece to camera. Get a wireless pair of mics if doing an interview or you do not want cables doing piece to camera. Iphone compatible microphones are a plenty these days because Iphones make great cameras.
Loving the videos! Would be more then happy to work some GTS/CS Flashes to see how you find the traction, steering and gearbox after makes a huge difference!
@@driftworks MHD only does CS flashing for the gearbox and engine. You need someone else to code in the CS software for the steering, diff and traction control
Asking from the US as im interested in getting this. Any potential for the flex pipe failing on higher hp apps? And any plans to make a video with this setup having aftermarket exhaust ?
Hey Phil, i was wondering is your height leveled front to back or front is lower than rear or vice versa. Stock suspension on the F80 is front higher than rear, but on the F82 M4 platform front is lower than the rear. For a track setup what would be your recommendation for F80 M3?
In Australia we all run same or softer rear springs In the bmws. If it’s not transferring the weight back it won’t put the power down. We are like 700lbs in the front and 600-700lbs in the rear. (Yes I know about the motion ratio.) Seems nuts but just try it. Anything but slicks are faster on a softer setup.
Interesting. And that's for track use, not drifting? We do that for the drift cars. For the road I'm pretty happy with it at 7kg /12kg. Your rates convert to about 12.5/12.5kg I think.
@@driftworks we went as low as 9.8kg in the rear but found once the front inside wheel is in the air there wasn’t much more to gain for rear drive. And that’s with stock sway bars front and rear. Yes for a race car with r spec tyres. For the standing race starts the stiffer rear spring was much better. We run eibach springs because of the thinner wire diameter allowing more travel to coil bind
Actually, I'd like to ask another question; You mention the spring rates and why there's such a disparity between the front and rear, but do you actually know the body frequency that's achieved from those spring rates? As in, how many cycles per second the suspension would bounce if it were undamped? I feel that's more translatable to other peoples' setups than an outright spring rate, especially given how much different cars' weight, weight distribution, and leverage ratios of the suspension components can vary.
I run your hsds on my E90 M3. Really happy with them. Other then the arb mount. Constantly coming loose with the drop links supplied. So the new mount on the f80 looks awesome. Adjustable drop links sorted my issue.
I've got the mono pro on my e46M. I've never had the droplink mounts come loose as I used a proper hammer and drift to knock the locking collars in place
Every time I see a stanced/cambered car makes me sick in my mouth. Then Phil goes full OCD with set up,explaination of why and how, makes the world right again. Love how anal you are 🤘
I've got Pzeros on my Cayenne Turbo and they're fine. I'd just rather have PS4S on the F80 as it has too much torque, and I haven't experienced a better all round summer tyre.
It just has my Outcast 2 into 1 downpipes with a cheap 3.5" single centre section and standard backbox. I'm going to be fitting a cat into the centre section soon.
Looking at the prices on GT3’s now you sold at the perfect time. M3 looks mean and is my favourite car for family duty’s and when alone nearly killing yourself with its torque curve of death 😂
I definitely did. The market has tanked. Not quite enough to buy a 992 Turbo S or AMG GT-R just yet though. I thin the market has a way to go down yet.
@@driftworks I'm going from 4S to Conti 7. Not only are they about £50 a corner cheaper, the Conti 7s I have on the back don't break loose half as easily in the cold / damp compared to the 4S. Tyre Reviews on youtube did proper tests and the Contis destroy the 4S in pretty much every test. I'm on 763M wheels so 265 19 front and 285 20 rear.
@@driftworks I haven’t on the M3 as they came on the car but have had PS4’s on several cars previously so know them well I had a 500bhp Toyota A90 Zupra where I swapped the MPSS to PS4’s and they made all the difference. Mine is a 2015 with the original mapping and DSC/Diff software and I don’t feel the car is as hairy as the reputation it comes with which I can only put down to the tyres. The SC7’s are very responsive to steering input, have a decent breakaway (not snappy) and the wet grip is mind blowing! They are even good in the minus degrees I can still pull out of junctions without the need for new pants.

👍💯Well done on the suspension design. Looks awesome and like the wheel design too.
I love that i use the same technique like you to get the clearence . Some people go mad when you tell them that you just cut a fender of a new car :D
HI Phil from Driftworks 👋and hello Baxter 🐾
I think you need a new range of Driftworks “Phil Spec” and “Jay Spec” products to reflect the level of R&D you guys put in!!
The m3 sounds great!
Brilliant vid as per usual.
happy new year to you and all at Driftworks, your BMW is looking mean with the black alloys and being lowered.great job on the suspension tinkering.

16kg springs?! Blimey I'm out of touch with modern cars; I remember buying 6kg/4kg coilovers for my S14 and it was a little too much!
S chassis also weigh about half a tonne less than an F80 M4 though...
Is the exhaust work complete, now?

Get a heat gun on those arch liners where the tire is still gonna rub and once it's heated up enough you can push the plastic out of the way.
It never works as well as you hope. Especially when the tyres already been hitting the liner.
