    I'm going to roll with the X1 8840U and the Onexgpu 2 as my main. Thanks for the video.

      That's one sexy setup! I do slightly favor the X1 with a eGPU due to the Oculink being over rather than under as it is on the X1 Mini.

    I am definitely going to invest in the onexgpu2. As much as I want a nice clean desktop, I rather get this because it is portable and compact. I don’t think I will ever bat an eye on a new upcoming portable device ever again once I get this. It will be one and done! This was a great review thank you

    Amazing video. Unfortunately I'm one of the onexgpu early adopters, and as much as I'd love to have the onexgpu2, it truly feels like a waste of money to do that while I still own my onexgpu, and it's also a very special niche where I am to find someone interested in buying my onexgpu for me to consider buying the new one. I'm one of the onexplayer 2 early adopters as well and haven't upgraded my setup since but it still does me justice.

    Very detailed video and I enjoyed watching it! btw I was not a fan of the charging brick the 1st onexgpu had. the brick would fall out of the wall outlet pretty consistently and im surprised there was no damage to any motherboard or internals while this was happening mid use. I'm glad the fans got quieter because I was never comfortable to push it as I had people find the fans annoying even when speakers were used while gaming. I know it got bigger but would you say it became any nicer for portable use? being able to push 60 fps max resolution at higher graphics on an internal screen like the legion go would be straight eye candy on the go (near an outlet).

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад

      Great point! It's probably less "portable" but once you "set it down", it's definitely a superior experience as far as I am concerned. I wasn't a fan with the brick either and the prototype I received used the exact same but I recall seeing OXP release a video about a new brick so I would assume the retail versions of ONEXGPU 2 will come with the new one. That said, I don't have any official info to that effect.

    Because you have to install new drivers, are you still able to unplug the eGPU and play handheld right away or do you have to keep swapping drivers?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  Месяц назад

      If the game swaps drivers because, for example, the eGPU operates on AMD official drivers, and a ROG ALLY operates on their own signed drivers, the game will almost always crash. There may be instances where somehow, the game continues to work but that shouldn't be expected, nor should that be the outcome, logically speaking.
      That said, even on same drivers, the crash can still happen and remains fairly likely to even though the odds of a crash not happening are more likely.

    I have a legion go and I recently bought the onexgpu 2, but what confuses me is if I had an oculink cable one end goes into the egpu but where does the other end go for the legion go?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  11 дней назад

      It doesn't. You need for both devices to have an Oculink port for the cable to be an option. So your solution is to use a USB-C, you're leaving some performance on the table but it is still a pretty substantial power jump when using the eGPU.

    • @tramainelynch5526
      @tramainelynch5526 11 дней назад

      @GameTechTalk alright thanks for that response and yea your right, just using the type C I can safely say I could run anything I need to. But do u recommend using the type c that comes with the EGPU or getting a different one online?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  10 дней назад

      @@tramainelynch5526 You can use the one that comes with or if you buy a different one, just make sure it's USB4 and it'll work too. Be careful with the quality because many claim it's USB4 when it isn't.

    What do you thinks better the gpd1 or this i have no idea about these but i want the gpd1 to go with my gpd winmax 2

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад

      The ONEXGPU 2 is drastically better. Mainly due to having a RX 7800M XT rather than the RX 7600M XT found in both the ONEXGPU 1 and GPD G1. These devices are also brand agnostic so it'll work without issue and without any performance loss. Just go for whatever works best for your needs. Cheers!

    Any affect on handheld like more tdp more fan noise ??

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад +1

      Positively so yes. In a nutshell, on your APU (CPU and GPU), the GPU portion takes the most energy by far, the CPU does too but drastically less.
      So when using an eGPU, you can just crank that TDP to the max to make sure your CPU is having as much juice as needed to keep up with the eGPU but at the same time, because it uses so much less power, the fans don't ramp up as quick, the handheld itself is not as noisy. As far as fan noise, your eGPU will easily drown out the handheld so you'll still hear something, just not the handheld as much.
      I hope this makes sense.

    I have a external monitor but it’s the arzopa z1fc so it’s 16’ 144hz 1080 - 1920 will that help the congestion issues?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад +1

      Yup, the monitor itself is of no impact, as long as it is one. So the order of things should be:
      Handheld PC > eGPU > Monitor. If you do that, it'll work better.
      Handheld PC > eGPU > Handheld PC. This has redundancy, it can cause performance loss. Cheers!

      @ btw can this thing allow me to dock to a 4k tv and play games at 4k resolution?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад +1

      @@AmariR_28 It can yeah, based off of the power output, you'll be able to play most games to not say all at 4k60hz, with graphics set anywhere between medium and high.

    • @AmariR_28
      @AmariR_28 2 месяца назад

      @ so 4k at 144hz is impossible?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад +1

      @@AmariR_28 Not impossible but you'll most likely have to lower your graphics to hit that on AAA games. Competitive games like Valorant, Overwatch, I think it would fairly easily but say Black Myth Wukong? That's going to be tough and you'll have to squeeze everything, frame gen, low graphs, etc. But it'll definitely get there on most titles if you sacrifice visuals.

    Only like the one XGPU because the price is a lot cheaper than the other one at first of all I’m not gonna buy it. It’s too expensive. They need to increase their price a lot lower so that’s why I prefer the one XGPU, it’s enough power enough performance I need for my Lenovo legion go even the one XGPU starting price will be $650 or sometimes it will go down during Black Friday event

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 месяца назад

      If they can bring the price down of the ONEXGPU 1 since the 2 is about to release, I think it could justify both products on the market but right now, the ONEXGPU 1 feels overpriced in my personal taste versus the 2. But I hear you, the affordability makes it still viable. I'd like to see ONEXGPU 1 at 500-550USD. Usually, the least powerful GPUs are more cost efficient and the more powerful are less, but you get a higher tier of performance. Right now, it's the opposite.
      The ONEXGPU 2 is pretty much double the performance right now.
