I’ve only ran Stihl and Echo and love them. Never owned or even ran a pro Husqvarna saw. I do wish my dual sport motorcycle had an electric carburetor, that’s cool! I like carbs!

Will it still auto tune to performance mods? Exhaust, popup piston or others?

My first experience with autotune was on my T540xp. It was also my last.😡 I no longer use that saw. For the last 3 years I've switched to batteries - first the T535i XP and now the T540i Xp. If I need something bigger in the tree or on the ground, it's one of my trusty 372 XPs.

T540 is the only autotune thats been remotely good for me from husky, my 550 starts maybe 70% of the time and would overheat until i put a muffler mod on it, my 570 and 357 and my echo 2511 all start and run beautifully, there was never anything wrong with their saws and stihl mtronic seems to work great so i dont understand how theirs is so bad and why they even did it in the first place

Are you sure there's no choke? The red switch doesn't need to be UP to start. It's ALWAYS ON even when neutral. Up is high idle and (I thought) choke. Going up then back to neutral is high idle only. Least that has always been my impression. I run a 550xp Mark II.

Cool. Can you say which model husky you're using right there in the video? I used my friend's 550xp the other day, which I think is a smaller saw but had impressive performance

It maybe sounds like a Stihl M-Tronic copycat? Perhaps more sophisticated? I dunno, 'cause I only have manual tune saws, ...and, ♫♪ that's the way, , uh-huh uh-huh, I like it, uh-huh uh-huh ♪♫

Auto tune is a nice concept but I would not buy one anytime soon. Customer support for something like this has got to be top of the line and Husqvarna support is text based only there is no phone support. Computer tune chainsaw ? you have to download updates and flash your chainsaw ahhh I'll pass on this for awhile...

  • @Matt-416

Nope. I've owned two auto-tune saws. 550xp gen 2, and a 572xp. Both blow smoke like I'm fogging for mosquitoes. Load up on idle and conk out, start fourstroking at sub 5,000 rpm.
    Nice thought, but not practical.
    The Auto-tune is not good.
    30-ish second full load cut.
Because that's something anyone can do. Super easy... Until an average 30 second "simulated" bore cut... isn't a possibility.
Now, I don't know about anyone else, but that's a hell of a cut, scabbing a good log... And if the auto-tune fails to recalibrate?... Meh, just do it again. Barely any effort... Super easy. It might work.
Oh... Funny how the mentioning of the greatest reason for auto-tune malfunctions is the crank bearings leaking. Because, Husqvarna, in their infinite wisdom, chose garbage sealed bearings.. i guess the time tested, and serviceable crank seals are too antiquated. That stupid light, fast, 372xp with thier dumb bearing seals... So much easier to split the case and change pressed bearings....
Or, perhaps one could use the overly complicated method of Stihl's M-tronic... : Idle it for 90 seconds. Poof... it's reset.
Who could possibly do that?.... And if it doesn't work... Oh .. there's a very difficult second opinion.. ugh... The effort and complications of holding the throttle wide open for 30 seconds. No ruined wood one may or may not have, no target rpm to hit, not crossed fingers and "maybe"....
    Husqvarna is circling the drain.

I would stay far away with any saw with Autotune. All these videos showing how to tune it doesn’t work Husky needs to come up with something more reliable . Or go back to the screws to where you can adjust it yourself.
