Absolutely. The show pretty much belongs to Jeffrey Dean Morgan from here stealing the spotlight with his charisma, but this episode (and the next one) belongs to Andrew Lincoln. There's a moment in the trailer, after roadblock 3 I think, where the cameras centred on him touching his face & his expression is haunting. Some people will argue that in such a post-apocalyptic world, a man-child who commands cult-like respect from his followers tossing around the f-bomb every other sentence would be a real thing that could happen. To those I say I do agree; it is pretty immersive, and if you crave immersion in your zombie tv shows, then kudos to you.
But as I read through Negan's fuck-sprinkled dialogue in the comics, I felt my eyes start to glaze over as the word "fuck" had really lost it's impact a long while ago. Maybe it's just me, but I like my fucks like I like my cunts: used sparingly and with great impact.

A good example of less is more is the uncensored scene of Rick in the cliff hanger ending at terminus when he said 'when they realised they're fucking with the wrong people' hit home brilliantly so when I saw the censored version with 'messing' it lost that punch.

This was movie quality violence. Honestly made me shudder the first time I saw this. Took me a couple days to come around to the idea that Negan really wasn't all that bad of a guy.
We just are watching the story through Rick's eyes.
If it was through Negan's eyes we would have seen another group attack our group, kill our friends, and watch them steal our friends stuff. Point of view is very important.

Jeffery Dean Morgan's acting really fits with the less vulgar incentive in the show. He does an incredible job with the character and honestly has ripped any preconceived ideas of Negan out of my head and replaced them with his own character. Despite how lack luster the show is at times, there is no boring scene with Negan on screen and that goes to show how absolutely talented and awe-inspiring Jeff is as an actor. But in hindsight I understand completely why it happened. And of course it makes complete sense now lol. honestly pretty natural comic dialogue that translated to the screen really well, with the help of a greaat actor of course

I just noticed the reason why Simon dropped that gun near to Carl because Negan never thought a child would hold a gun and shoot. Simon intentionally did it since he already didn't like Negan to be the leader of the Saviors he is just waiting for the signal for someone from Rick's team to do it but failed due to their felt terror and tension. 😅

This was hands down and Hats OFF A terrific, unmatched and amazingly intense Tv sequence with unparallel building of horror, suspense and dreadfulness in the heart of audience.. Thanks to the brutal and POWERFUL Performances of cast members, especially by JDM and Andrew! What a Show!!!

I feel like Negan is more intimidating without the excessive swearing because instead of being in your face all the time he has this erratic anger.

For the first time I am actually happy that they censored the swearing, the uncensored is like a Helluva boss episode xd

Even though JDM was great in this scene, you can tell that he wasn't fully in character yet. I remember him saying he had less than 2 weeks to learn that he got the part, learn his lines and shoot the episode. If you watch 6x16 and 7x01 back to back, the difference is night and day. He didn't quite develop Negan's personality, loud mouth, and charisma yet.

I have seen The Walking Dead show, but I haven’t read the comics, nor should I because it contains a lot of swearing, and I honestly don’t like reading books that have swearing in them. Like I remember reading “Dear Martin” during English 1 class in my freshman year of high school, and I was uncomfortable seeing swears in the book because my parents taught me not to swear at school, and it was so weird seeing swearing in a book when I was taught not to swear. Besides, watching the tv show of “The Walking Dead” was enough for me because while it does contain swearing, it’s not as bad as the comics as far as I can tell. I loved seeing “The Walking Dead” on tv, and it was amazing. I normally don’t watch horror movies and tv shows, but something made me want to watch “The Walking Dead,” and I don’t even know what it was. Maybe it’s the acting, maybe it’s the story, maybe it’s the effects, but I honestly don’t know. I honestly prefer the TV version of Negan than the comic version because the comic Negan looks younger and less handsome and charismatic than the tv version. Besides, JDM did a really great job portraying Negan in the show. He’s the key in making the Negan we either love or hate. Without him, I doubt Negan would be a great villain in the series as a whole. The acting was just phenomenal with the help of Andy Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Steven Young, etc. Excellent job to everyone who worked hard on this show for us to enjoy!
