This is great! You get right too it!! I cannot get thru most people's intro because they go off track for the first 15 minutes! Your recipes are doable and they look tasty! I will try this!
I don't think I will be going vegan but you've definitely given me some inspiration just to eat healthier. I'd love to see more vegan hauls and cooking videos :-)
I wish Canada had the cheap USA pricing for groceries. I understand we have to pay the extra to have the goods shipped here but still sucks lol. I've started my own garden this year, to save money on some veg and fruits, so I will be able to afford more healthy things. cauliflower with hot sauce actually sounds delicious! I will have to try it, I found out I have fatty liver when I was only 25 lol so love watching healthy food options. it really helps seeing the meals on camera, thank you!
A tip when cooking with curry powder, add it to the onions and garlic when you saute them (until it becomes fragrant, about a minute), as this will help to release the curry's flavour. I was raised in a culture where curry is a big deal, so much so, that there are shops that only specialize in selling hundreds of different types of curry powder. Also, all curry powders are not equal, so if you use one that you're not a huge fan of the flavour, try another by a different brand.
I roasted some cauliflower. I put seasalt, complete seasoning by Badia, black pepper and some coconut oil. I promise you those cauliflower taste like sauteed shrimp...I am so serious!!!
I had a girl come up to my register and she bought a bunch of fruits and vegetables and while I was scanning all her items, she picked up this candy bar type thing but ended up putting it down after reading everything and than she paid and left and I read the ingredients on that bar and it wasn't vegan and I think she was vegan and t was cool to see (:
This has helped me so much! I'm going vegetarian and hopefully vegan, and I was wanting meal ideas. I thought it was so expensive. I'm so excited to know that I can start my daughter and family with good food! Definitely do more of these. Seriously!
there is no way that eating a plant based diet is more expensive then a more traditional diet simply because meat or chicken is at least $8 a pound, compared to fruits, vegetables, rice, and legumes that are usually $1-$3
It can be. The better you eat the better you want to eat. You go vegan. Then you want organic. I can't get under $50 each wk. She had me like, whaaaat? $30???
I can't even express how much this video just saved my life and pockets! I'm so glad you shared this, I've been trying to eat cleaner ever since I moved, but I've felt like I've been spending way too much money and then still end up HONGRY! But this right here... this is such a great tool! Please, we need more of these videos! Love, love, love!
Finally someone understands me. I have always preferred green apples for the same reason, I also hate non green apples because I find them to be too mushy.
Wow this video is two year's old and I'm just seeing this. I'm on my healthy eating journey and stubble across your channel. I love your channel congrats on your baby boy.
If you want to eat organic and live in New York, it's very expensive. I eat organic fruits and veg, and gluten-free whenever possible. I juice every day, too. It IS expensive.
It's close to the same here in Chicago. I spend my Summers in NY with my in laws and I come out of pocket heavy there too, so I feel your pain. Once I noticed that her fruits and veggies weren't organic, I understood the $30. I've been vegan for over five years, still I was hoping she could put me on differently, lol. Mind you, I don't always buy organic, just the notorious 12 or so, but I'm conscious-conscious, and they eat good from us. Smh. Shit's expensive.
I have completed a 30 day vegan change for myself and love it! Thank you for your " what I eat in a day" which helps to see the complete meal. I use Pinterest too but love how you put things so simple together!!!! Keep them going.
OMG!! The Cauliflower buffalo recipe was beyond awesome!! I made it last night and shared it in one of the Vegan Facebook groups I am in. I'm addicted!! Subbing!
+TheChicNatural The curry looked great, and I can't wait to make it! Also just wanted to say that when I make pancakes I use a cleaned out ketchup bottle to squeeze the perfect amount every time. Premixed, no muss, no fuss!
I honestly admire your channel so much. Your recipes look so good and it's making me consider trying out a plant based diet to see if I could do it. Your fashion style and home decor is literally right up my alley and can not wait to be able to rock every aspect of this when I get my degree. Keep being amazing Kim! Thanks for the amazing weekly content!
+tikea p Educate yourself on veganism, watch Cowspiracy, Forks Over Knives and Earthlings. Then to learn about nutrition, watch LegitNutritionHawaii's weightloss series for health advice. Then go out and buy a ton of potatoes, rice, frozen vegetables, and fruit.
Ok I've been watching your videos on and off over the past years but after this video...🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 you are the BOMB with this vegan life and I'm so inspired! 💜💜💜
U r my main inspiration for becoming vegan in addition to watching a couple of documentaries on meat processing. .got excited when I saw u posted vid..it's bee n almost three weeks and I'm really loving it and can see changes physically, mentally etc. thank u!
I found your channel just looking for healthy food ideas. But you have inspired me. A vegetable curry last night and tonight those dang cauliflower bites. I cannot stop eating them! Had planned on posting a picture but they are mostly gone now! Thank you and please keep your cooking videos coming. I enjoy the clean, to the point explanations. Thank you!
This video is amazing. Plz make more.. I am struggling vegan who is depressed and seeing your happy self on these videos with easy to make meals is grand!
More vids like this please! Not vegan but love incorporating meatless dishes. I'd personally be more interested in the recipes than food/grocery hauls but please keep it up.
i really love how u make your food videos. u label your ingredients and go at a pace that is easy and simple to follow! other what i eat in a day videos are literally too fast and they dont include ingredient lists so just wanted to say thanks and I've subscribed to your channel for these kind of videos so hope to see more! :)
I am one in four. My family consists of my husband, my two toddlers, and myself. I usually spend about $200 a week on groceries. My husband is a 6'3 power lifter, and eats everything in sight lol I wish they were more open to this plant based style, but it's very hard. Especially since my two toddlers are used to meat products now. I hope we can make that switch slowly!
I know how you feel! My husband and three young daughters will eat my plant-based foods, but he still brings the meat and junk into the mix at least a couple times of week. I feel like I have to work around that! :) Our bill averages about 200 a week as well. My oldest daughter has been having a lot of interest in the vegan lifestyle lately though, and concerns with the animal industry. Sometimes it's just takes time, and is a gradual journey. Best wishes! :)
+Elizabethann Fint It's definitely a challenge since my kids are 2 & 1. They are both in their "picky stage", and refuse to eat various foods. My husband says he needs the eggs, chicken, and steak in order to bulk up. He's 6'3, and weighs 230 pounds so you can already imagine how much food he consumes lol Anyways, wish me luck! :D It'll be a slow process, but I think we can do it! Thanks for your input! :D
Oooh, I must try those buffalo cauliflower bites/wraps. My daughter looooves cauliflower, and my hubby loves anything with hot sauce on it...lol. That indian inspired dish looks yummy as well. Love your cooking videos. I am not vegan, but am trying to incorporate a few vegan meals in our meal plan. Love your channel.
Great video! I usually throw Kale or Spinach into Soups or Pastas. I'll sometimes make a smoothie, it depends if there is fruit in the house or not. Whenever I get Bananas I'll peel them and FREEZE them for just that purpose. I'm more team blueberry than strawberry, but to each their own. I know a lot of people add ice to their smoothies, but there is not need if you have frozen fruit. Turns out a person can freeze just about anything including fruits and vegetables. I'm feeling you on the small tortillas. The big ones are so much easier to wrap.
I just found your channel yesterday and I love it! I've been vegan for 9 years but I've always been pretty lazy about cooking, but you're really inspiring me to plan my meals and cook them!
I love all your videos! I've been transitioning to vegan for about a year now and you're so inspiring! I was always afraid to be dissapointed with buffalo cauliflower, but I'm definitley trying it now.
I really appreciate this kind of video. please do more. I am trying to eat more vegan based diets and snacks, but also can't cook. your meals are so easy to follow.
MORE MORE MORE pretty please : ) awesome video!!! You reconfirmed my desire to go vegan, seems a lot more "doable now"!! Do you take any supplements as well since you're vegan? If so, what kind and what made you choose the specific supplements your take? Thank you!!
I love ❤ how you do your meal ideas where I can keep up and take notes. Eating healthy to heal and transistioning from vegetarian to vegan trying to heal my kidney and an autoimmune problem. Thanks 😊 for the videos.
I just discovered your channel and I am so glad I did! Those cauliflower wraps are so delicious and satisfying. My son is trying the cauliflower now and is so surprised how close it is to a hot wing. The look of surprise on his face has me giggling! Thank you so much for sharing!
More food videos, these are so helpful, i'm trying to transition into a vegan diet for health reasons, and it hasn't been easy, but you make it seem like it is!
hey! my family always buys those tortillas, but i figured i couldn't have them because they have distilled mono and diglycerides. i haven't really found a vegan tortilla that i like, and i used to love those tortillas. are the monoglycerides and diglycerides from a plant source?
OH MY GOSH! This video popped up in my recs. Thank you SOOO much for sharing. I'm in the early stages if transitioning and videos like this help so much with the anxiety of figuring out logistics. Plus your recipes look incredible. I will definitely be trying them!!
I love this video. I would love more food videos. I just moved into my first apartment. I want to save money and slowly transition into a 90℅ plant base diet. The other 10% is seafood.
Awesome meal ideas! For your bulk bin chickpeas, you should try using jars instead of plastic bags. Keeps the pantry neater, and helps reduce plastic trash
I find that I save so much money when I take the time to plan my meal menu for the week, this keeps me from buying things that are spur of the moment purchases which can go bad before I get around to cooking it. Thanks for this market haul!xo
I’m soooo excited I found your channel. I just decided to be Vegan and I’ve had a hard time finding recipes that look so good . And your channel has go me excited. It all looks delicious!
FullyRawKristina did a video about eating $20 a day on a vegan diet...$20 a day😮. That's $560 per month. That is why people think eating vegan is so expensive.
Yes, it depends on what you're buying. I was spending over $100/ wk, sometimes more. That's because I buy tons of fruits & veggies. If the fruits aren't in season they cost more.
that is totally and completely unnecessary. Anyone can spend that much money on food a day. No vegan would need to spend that much money. It's not expensive at all, it doesn't have to be. if you're one of those people that buys food made for vegans are vegetarians and yeah it'll be expensive but if you just buy your own fruits and vegetables and beans and whatnot and it's not expensive at all. especially if you get Frozen stuff like me it's really cheap.
Depending on what your eating you might have leftovers or something and technically for 5 small meals or 3 bigger meals 20$ ain't bad. Because people nowadays have fast food every meal and that adds up to probably more than 20$ depending on what it is
This is really great, thank you most people just talk about being vegan and being healthy but no one ever talks about how much it costs, They fear if they reveal the cost people will shy away from being a vegan! So Thank you!!!
It's meal prepping so she preps for the whole week on what she wants to eat and she'll get the same thing everyday. It's cheaper and makes it so much easier so she doesn't have to cook a new meal everyday.
You have the most creative ideas for meals. My eyeballs are like this 👀🙌🏻. Been a vegan for years and I'm learning so much on your channel! THANKYOU. More more please! 👌🏻👍🏻💗
$30 for the entire week is really good. I don't eat the same thing all week so my grocery bill is a lot higher. I can eat the same thing for two days and then I'm done. It's good to see you eating healthy at an affordable price.
Love the recipe/meal ideas! I just have to add that location is everything, regarding prices and how much you spend. I saw that strawberries on your receipt were around $2 or $3. In NYC, they're regularly $5, unless there's a sale.
Omg the Buffalo wrap is so good. I shopping yesterday and made it today with a side of spinach with ranch dressing. Wish I could upload the pictures. Thank you. I'll get your cookbook.
You may want to consider trying a healthier mix. Bisquick uses enriched bleached flour. Not good for you. Research it. Whole flour is better for you. Always read the ingredients. The same with the tortillas. There are tortillas with whole flour. Trader joes sells pre riced cauliflower frozen and fresh. Also, Costco sells a lot of frozen fruits and veggies that are organic and will last you longer.
veganism is about the animals and the planet, pleaseeee stop making it about health all the time. the humans are fine (in comparison), it's the other species that need looking after. her health affects her and her only. it doesn't affect you or anyone else. if you want to eat healthy, you eat healthy.
+Anna Clegg I understand and respect your point of view. If a video is titled how to eat good I would hope that all the food presented is good for you. Vegan or not. Your body's health is just as important as an animals life and to me that includes ingredients.
Awesome budgeting. I go even lower by making everything from scratch. I make my own tortillas from organic masa flour. For the waffle/pancake mix, I make a gluten free batter from almond flour, coconut flour, arrowroot flour, a bit of maple syrup, coconut milk, and flaxseed meal. I don't buy bagged veggies, but opt to "process" it myself. My weekly budget is around $20. I'm eating lentil chili in a variety of ways for a few days, because the one cup of lentils I started with turned into two quarts of chili when I was done adding to the recipe. I froze a quart, too.
unitedjt345 I was asking so that I can clearly understand the price... $30 per day or week. That's all. No shade here. I eat the same thing over and over quite often.
I don't know if you guys have Sprout Farmer's Market near you, but it is the place to be when trying to eat healthy on a budget. Everything's organic and low priced, at least that has been my experience. Get their flour and rice, granola and all from the huge barrels. You get more for your money. I don't buy boxed and prepackaged things anymore, not even seasonings and spices. You buy it by the ounce at Sprout and get so much more. And for the vegan burger meat, is seitan. You can make it on your own in various ways and you get more that way and you can freeze it for later consumption. Just a thought.
I have two babies. My daughter is starting to eat meat I don't care if she does but I want it to be a healthy kind. The other is just 8 months and I am still breastfeeding but she wants to eat eat eat. It was hard at first but being an uneducated vegetarian I ate a lot of pasta and carbs and gained a lot of weight. So you really have to do it the right way. If it's what you want to do it then do it but if you are struggling maybe try just designating a day to it and gradually as you get familiar with more recipes and your likes and dislikes gradually stop eating meat for more days.
This video was very helpful. I've noticed that you have lunch tray/lunch box for your food and other cute silver dish ware for your kitchen. can you do like a Kitchen haul to show your beautiful dishes? love ya girl
Lol I went to subscribe after the first few minutes and I’m already subscribed to her! I must have missed her videos over the years. Super happy I found her again! Great video!
These meals would last my husband and myself 2 days but if it was just me probably 4-5 days. I'm wondering if the other days you go out to eat? Also, there are no snacks included at all and being vegan I definitely snack between meals otherwise I'm starving. We spend $160 a week on average but we are also athletes who eat 2,500 and 3,500 calories a day. Wish we could get by $30 a person! I should also note we eat organic
this is great. but i have to wonder, is this vegan or vegetarian? is it safe to believe the cheese and mayo you are using are vegan? im a vegetarian and go either way (i enjoy my dairy outside of milk- that's reserved for almond or cashew and now im excited to try pea milk!) but for those who are venturing into veganism, are these options youve shown vegan friendly or vegetarian friendly? :)
+TheChicNatural that's awesome! maybe I confused the slaw for cheese lol. keep up the healthy diet. I've been vegetarian for over 4 years and it's been fun interesting and a learning experience! 👍🙌🙌😊
Iam interested in the rise of veganisum but have questions as to how much do you have to consume to not feel light headed, tured, etc. what vegan friendly protein options do you eat most often? Thank you
I'm so glad I found your channel. You somehow make this all seem more doable. Everything you make looks delicious, also. And I'm going to start meal planning now. lol
Im a beginner so if you have time please list a week or 2 worth of your vegan meal preps. B,L, and dinner. I really need a steady routine. Thanks dor the video.
yesss girl! That Biscuit mix is a lifesaver for vegans especially those with larger families...my pancakes and waffles always turn out fluffy! And yay BIG wraps lol....a big wrap is a must for me lol....but WAYMENT buffalo cauliflower you say?! yuuuum i love them by themselves but never thought to make a wrap...they look AMAZING!! great video girl!
Omg. My dogs name is waffles and every time you said waffles he looked at me like "yes?"
What kind of dog? Waffles is such a cute name 🐶
haha that's so cute!
lmao omg adorable
Soooooooo cute!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Agreed...
Yea, I was going to say it really depends on where you live.
This is very true! I usually pick and choose which fruits and veggies to buy organic. Truthfully, not all veggies/fruits need to be organic.
yeah conventional fruits and veggies I can walk out with 3 bags worth 17$ but organic is expensive.

Hi! If you haven't already, try putting some of the coleslaw mix into your salads. It adds a nice crunch to the spinach and kale mix.
+Noelle Schultz great idea, thanks!!
+TheChicNatural Do you have a recipe book, I would love a copy .Ty
So as far as the bisquick you just don't add any egg just water(for waffles) & put on griddle
exactly!
OMG! I needed this - I just started the vegan challenge on my channel and I am running out of ideas and didn't want it to get too expensive!!

Try dishes with tofu. My boyfriend doesnt mind tofu as its full of protein and with the right spices tastes just like chicken 😀
I'll definitely give it a try. It is a struggle to be Mexican.
Honestly so many meat substitutes (especially the chicken ones) taste literally the same. Your kids probably wouldn't even notice! :)
Love that you're sharing how easy it is to be vegan under a budget! Most people think it's too difficult.

Awesome meal ideas! For your bulk bin chickpeas, you should try using jars instead of plastic bags. Keeps the pantry neater, and helps reduce plastic trash
The way she wrapped that tortilla gave me a heart attack lol
why it was wrapped pretty good except for the top parts.
I'm a 100% Mexican that's why lol
+Janet Camberos how do you wrap it?
+Maxine Cyriaque Just curious, not meant in an ignorant way
+Maxine Cyriaque wrap it tighter
I find that I save so much money when I take the time to plan my meal menu for the week, this keeps me from buying things that are spur of the moment purchases which can go bad before I get around to cooking it. Thanks for this market haul!xo
You just made my fat ass want to go vegan. lol! Yesss girly👍🏾Keep em coming
+Lish Channel Hilarious !
lmao yes
#FACTS
I’m soooo excited I found your channel. I just decided to be Vegan and I’ve had a hard time finding recipes that look so good . And your channel has go me excited. It all looks delicious!
FullyRawKristina did a video about eating $20 a day on a vegan diet...$20 a day😮. That's $560 per month. That is why people think eating vegan is so expensive.
Yes, it depends on what you're buying. I was spending over $100/ wk, sometimes more. That's because I buy tons of fruits & veggies. If the fruits aren't in season they cost more.
lol That video was ridiculous. It probably turned off a lot of people from veganism.
that is totally and completely unnecessary.
Because people nowadays have fast food every meal and that adds up to probably more than 20$ depending on what it is
Eating raw tends to be more expensive than eating a vegan diet
You are making things even my kids would eat. Thank you for sharing. I love your vids.
I'm not vegan but loved the video nonetheless! Where did you get your shirt? Love!
I must stop watching these grocery/meal videos when I'm hungry! ALL of it looks so yummy! Thanks for the ideas!
So what do you use for the mayo on the cauliflower wraps?
the first two minutes were already so GOOD with your week plan !!
This was so so helpful. Thank you for this video. Yes more food videos please 👍
This is really great, thank you most people just talk about being vegan and being healthy but no one ever talks about how much it costs, They fear if they reveal the cost people will shy away from being a vegan! So Thank you!!!
Do you eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch, dinner in one week?
that's what i was thinking too :/
It's meal prepping so she preps for the whole week on what she wants to eat and she'll get the same thing everyday. It's cheaper and makes it so much easier so she doesn't have to cook a new meal everyday.
You have the most creative ideas for meals. My eyeballs are like this 👀🙌🏻. Been a vegan for years and I'm learning so much on your channel! THANKYOU. More more please! 👌🏻👍🏻💗
I'd love to know your recipe for the buffalo cauliflower
It's below the video in links-she mentioned that.
$30 for the entire week is really good. I don't eat the same thing all week so my grocery bill is a lot higher. I can eat the same thing for two days and then I'm done. It's good to see you eating healthy at an affordable price.
You are so resourceful and prepared! Such an inspiration
Love the recipe/meal ideas! I just have to add that location is everything, regarding prices and how much you spend. I saw that strawberries on your receipt were around $2 or $3. In NYC, they're regularly $5, unless there's a sale.
YESSS. Finally found a black vegan!
Omg the Buffalo wrap is so good. I shopping yesterday and made it today with a side of spinach with ranch dressing. Wish I could upload the pictures. Thank you. I'll get your cookbook.
I have to try that chickpea curry!
I am so loving how you are including more food videos. & yes love Granny Smiths I stay stock
Well some people live in the South...and those stores aren't common there at times.
Talk
About health nazi lol
Thanks for the tip of riced cauliflower at Trader Joes. I will certainly pick up a bag or two next time I go.
veganism is about the animals and the planet, pleaseeee stop making it about health all the time. the humans are fine (in comparison), it's the other species that need looking after. her health affects her and her only. it doesn't affect you or anyone else. if you want to eat healthy, you eat healthy.
Do you eat the same thing for all 3 meals for the whole week?
I was thinking the same thing.
+sonja C If its healthy, nutrient-dense n I crave it why not? Why moderate good health??
unitedjt345 I was asking so that I can clearly understand the price... $30 per day or week. That's all. No shade here. I eat the same thing over and over quite often.
I never thought of actually planning out my meals before I go to the grocery store! I am going to try the chickpea curry recipe!
So glad I found your channel...i've been thinking about going vegan for a while...
30 a week for 3 meals a day? If so I will try this with my food stamp card.
And its pricey when you want seconds.
+Saving/me Depends on what you get I'm sure. I'm not a vegan but I am a pescatarian now but before I was a vegetarian from 2006-2012.
+April Smith wow good for you.
:-) Oh I'm Black too and I was only 16 when I started.
+April Smith wow. I'm proud of you. And maybe you could have vegan children as well someday. It's hard giving up meat.
I'll try my best to spend $30 a week ...
Lol I went to subscribe after the first few minutes and I’m already subscribed to her! I must have missed her videos over the years. Super happy I found her again! Great video!
Thumbed up this video, you should make one every week!!!
+Nichole D There is no cheese in this video, but yes the mayo is plant based.
+TheChicNatural that's awesome! maybe I confused the slaw for cheese lol. keep up the healthy diet. I've been vegetarian for over 4 years and it's been fun interesting and a learning experience! 👍🙌🙌😊
+TheChicNatural What about the waffle...its made with milk and eggs...this is so confusing 😶
Bisquick pancake mix is 100% vegan and you don't use any eggs or milk for it, just add water. =)
veganaise is popular and available in most grocery stores.
Iam interested in the rise of veganisum but have questions as to how much do you have to consume to not feel light headed, tured, etc.
what vegan friendly protein options do you eat most often?
Thank you
I love the vegan videos. Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad I found your channel. You somehow make this all seem more doable. Everything you make looks delicious, also. And I'm going to start meal planning now. lol
