Same here but it's starting to get close to home .
Well done Yuval! This has given me some ideas for a rather plane but large Arbutus bowl I turned two or three years ago. A nice band of piercings would do it wonders I'm thinking. And as it turns out, bought myself some tungsten carbide burrs on Amazon a couple weeks back... Thanks always for sharing. Please stay safe!
Thank you Gord!! I hope you'll share with us what ever comes out of that bowl! I'm not familiar with the term "Arbutus", is that a specific shape or a wood type I don't know??
Yuval
@@yuvallahav Arbutus is a species that is found only on the West Coast of BC and WA. It is related to similar species found south into CA I believe. The wood moves a lot as it dries, very difficult to find a dry round that isn't split to the point of uselessness. Turned wet it is a dream except that it will start to move as soon as you start to hollow the bowl or similar. So it has to be finished as you hollow, pretty much with each additional inch of hollowing. Must be turned in a single effort, as it will split if left overnight partially finished. Well worth the effort tho and is lovely to put a gouge to when wet. There's a short video showing the tree in my yard on my channel. Stay safe!
Another fantastic piece well done

Thank you Tee!! To tell you the truth I had another idea for this bowl but it fell through, so the piercing was my second choice as well, but I'm happy with the result non the less.

So elegant ! I love the color and the shape . The piercing turns it even more delicate.
Again, that's a grate job !
Well done Yuval ;)

Yuval
I think that looks very cool and is incredibly creative. Very nice. But the silence was hard for me to take 😁 I would have liked some music. You always seem to add great music to your videos. But the finished piece is awesome.
Thank you Gib! I know it's a different style, but I like to mix it up, sometimes I talk, sometime there's music, sometimes there's just shop sounds. To keep it all different and fresh.
Yuval
Love it
Thank you Mike!
Yuval
Splendide !!!

Yuval

Your gonna need some more yew soon lol loving the bowl mate
Well, I still have a few small branches left, but a shipment sometime soon might be on order ;)
That's a nice helmet.
Yes! Very useful in the upcoming zombie apocalypse.
Yuval
This is so wonderful, I will never tire of your Pierced pieces Yuval. Even though I knew what was coming, my jaw dropped at the basic bowl cut into this piece of yew. And then again when you so delicately cut the natural edge so thin. It didn't stop there ... now the piercing work. Superb, just super my friend. Glad you are staying safe. -Mike
p.s. do you keep this under lock and key so they aren't roughly handled by your admirers ? I would😁
Thank you Mike!! and I keep all my latest work right in front of me on a shelf above my computer screen. When that becomes over crowded they move to a more secure location :)
Yuval
Wow!!
Thank you Melissa! :)
Yuval
Damn that's pretty!!!
Thanks Joep!
Yuval
Mãos habilidosas, mentes audaciosas e tá aí um trabalho único e fantástico, meus parabéns.
Thank you Normando!!
Yuval
Hi Yuval, It was a stunning bowl before you started piecing but the end result is just off the planet. I'm really glad you managed to keep the knot in place. What oil did you use for the finish? cheers, Huw
Thank you Huw! (still need to answer your mail, I forgot...). It was pretty nice as is, but I wanted to take it up a notch and practice my piercing a little more in different settings. The finish is as always plain linseed oil. I should get my finishing game in order as well... but I'm too lazy to wait for things to dry... :)
Yuval
Fabyuvaltastic 👍
LOL! Thanks buddy! Now I think I need to find a new element to explore...
Yuval
Hi Yuval another very nice master piece what ever will you come up with next cheers Ian
Thank you Ian!! I'm always looking for new ideas :)
Yuval
Good result! I'm doing simpler things for now...
Thank you!! You've got to start somewhere ;)
Yuval
parabens
Thank you Salomao!
Yuval
That's absolutely amazing, great skill
Could you please tell me what cutter did you use to do the lace?
Thank you Matt! The cutters I used are these:

Yuval
That's stunning, Yuval! I've shared your video with our turner's club's Facebook group -- I've not seen many natural edge bowls made with the entire log before. Most of them are made from half the log with the pith cut out. This one looks like it was relatively well seasoned rather than green, correct? Any idea how long it had been drying? I'm also curious as to where you found the mirrored turntable -- that looks like a very useful tool to showcase completed pieces!
Thank you Matt!! I believe I responded to all your questions on Facebook ;)
Yuval
Great work! What piercing bit did you use with your Dremel tool? Thanks.
Thank you Carl!
I used these bits that I've ordered from the UK, they work great and don't cost much.

Thank you!!
Yuval
Вellissimo!!!!!
Grazie!! :)
Yuval
Hi Yuval, what bit are you using for the dremel ? mine is burning the wood more than cutting ????? Stay safe and have a nice day
I'm using these bits, they work great!

Yuval
Very beautiful pierced bowl👍😊 Could you please write the names of the two bits you use for your dremel to make the piercing? Thank you very much🤝
Thank you Hanne! I'm using bits I've bought at this site:
www.woodart-products.co.uk/4_cutters.php
Well Yuval since I am going to get out of the retirement wood turning hobby, due to such magnificent work as you have displayed here again and after this social disease clears up and I stop itching, do you think you could use an old fart to sweep up in your castle villa wood shop. Nice piece of turning there Rookie. Haha. Stay safe Yuval and your family. God Bless.
Well, like I said before Ed, my shop would be a good home for all your tools the day you choose to retire this hobby, but don't just yet, you've still got a few good years of creative juices in ya'!! :) My shop is so small that two people inside it over crowded.... ;)
Yuval
@@yuvallahav Haha. Well you turn and I'll sand. Haha.
My heart goes out to you and Italy. Stay safe. 🙏
lovely, what bit are you using in the dremel to do the piercing?
Thank you Steve! Sorry for the late reply, here are the bits I'm using:

Yuval very cool. How thick would say the walls are?
Thank you Joseph! They are 1 mm thick at the edge, and they slope to a comfortable 2.5 mm at the center of the base.
