      Are you eligible to apply for Social Security disability in addition to having SSI? If not then I assume that you would have to purchase private insurance through the Affordable Care act. But maybe Dr Weir knows a different solution.

    Please double-check your answer to the query at 55:22. You suggested a split strategy, but the husband is 12 years older than the wife and he is intending to file at FRA. He will be collecting benefits by the time she is 62. If she files then, doesn't she have to file for everything she is entitled to at that time including spousal benefit (deemed filing)?

    • @MyGovExpert
      @MyGovExpert  2 месяца назад

      She can file for hers and then wait until she is her full retirement age to file on his record for the full 50%.

      My son receives disability and somehow he had his snap benefits cancelled. You DO NOT automatically qualify for SNAP benefits because you are disabled. It is a LIE .

    • @DebLindley-xg8gz
      @DebLindley-xg8gz 2 месяца назад

      @@nancysellard6157you still have to meet income guidelines for your particular State, in order to qualify for SNAP benefits. Each COLA increase, will eventually get you taken off of SNAP, eventually, depending on deductions. Earned income, can also help increase your SNAP benefit amount.

      There is also a difference between if your son is receiving SSI or SSDI and the amount he receives each month.

    Dr Ed why do you have to pay back an overpayment of your own money if they paid you over for a year what happens to that money.

    • @DebLindley-xg8gz
      @DebLindley-xg8gz 2 месяца назад

      Since there's actually no account with our individual names on them, it's truly not, "our" money. People don't seem to understand that.

    Money you received from an accident claim, then medicare wants part of it. Put a lien against your judgement.

    Yes... I mispronounced "lien"...just before the LIVE I was reading the most popular names this year and I noticed Liam was the #1 boy's name (Olivia for girls)...and somehow my brain kept trying to pronounce it like that...(actually pronounced like "lean"...). Thanks to those that pointed it out!
