- Dungeness is a headland on the coast of Kent, England, formed largely of a shingle beach in the form of a cuspate foreland. It shelters a large area of low-lying land, Romney Marsh. Dungeness is also the name given to a "village" situated along the beach, and to an important ecological site on the same location.
Shot mainly on a Canon 5D mk2 and a Canon HSF10. Edited in Premiere Pro with a little from After Effects and Looks
I for one like the industrial music and dad-core jamming. It adds another degree of bizzareness to this place 😳
Thank you
Love "The Dunge" Would move there tomorrow, As soon as I retire Ha Ha. . . . Holidayed at Romney Sands last week. Booked for next year.
Can't wait. Love Love the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. What's not to like.
Very best wishes to all Dunge lovers. See ya next year. . . .
Sounds great!
Me and my mate Ben attempted the famous Pub crawl of Dungeness once. Best time of our lives. Also, not mentioned in this video but there is a flat tyre near one of the shacks that is well worth visiting.
fantastic video. i just used it to explain a style of gardening to some americans. thanks for making this. what a wonderful place.
Thank you
Thanks for this!! Visiting tomorrow
Have fun!
Really odd choice of music - also it's 'if Kent is the Garden of England, Dungeness is the back gate'.
I write odd music LOL and the Kent bit is a quote
@@MarkRigler I agree with HEADROCTV on both their points. The music is totally wrong for the environment shown, also the quote as you have used it is incorrect. I live near Dungeness and would select lighter almost pastoral music, also double check your quote, it should be exactly as suggested by HEADROCTV. Finally you suggest that Dungeness is a two day trip, but from where, certainly not from London unless you are walking.
@@davidrodwell6509 Yes the quote is wrong, but unlike Vimeo, youtube doesn't give you the option to correct mistakes. Music is such a personal thing, and I think i was given the wrong directions
That snare drum sound is awesome!
Cheers
Some lovely camerawork and editing there and gives a good feel for the area. Us anglers know it for one thing but good to see other sides of Dungie.
Thank you for your kind words
Good video, but some of the info was wrong. The RHDR opened to Dungeness in 1928. I think you've confused the miniature railway with the Standard gauge railway that used to serve passengers, but now only stops at the power station.
Your right, I only discovered there were two railways after making the video. Suddenly things made a lot more sense.
Hi Mark,
Just came across your footage you know with all the signs about not filming on certain points I've filmed their at the weekend got put off with the conflict along the track about needing a permitt did you need one sorry to ask this as back in Dungeness soon need to be sure awesome place especially the history and the two lighthouses.
I've uploaded on my channel very good video I've sub thanks 😊
I filmed this many years ago, I think it's slowly getting more difficult to film interesting places
@@MarkRigler yes I've seen tons of footage on Dungeness been told not to worry if you see what I mean on my channel of what I've filmed very not welcome to dungerness if your s holiday maker weird great videos have subscribed 🤗
@@MarkRigler thanks for replying mark it was just a weird situation even other people that were visiting had the same vibe like just go not welcome.
Any how I've taken some footage will go back their as their was other footage I needed to take lighthouses are cool arnt they 🤗
I love the Romney marshes don't forget to check out Invicta kent autograss...at ivychurch raceway...a great day out. And cheap...
Sounds good
Great soundtrack!
thanks
What is the title of the soundtrack please?
@@theweatherlog I don't think I ever gave it a title so I guess Theme from Dungeness
@@MarkRigler Thanks Mark. I was hoping that track is available on you tube and as an audio file somewhere. Great video and great music.
I've done this route several times a year for most of my life.
Its only about 75 miles. You'd have to go about 0.64 mph to make it take 2 days. Haha.
Got about 5000 boxes for you today mate.
Jack Wolfskin 2017.
Sorry, I think I've missed something
@MarkRigler haha. Sorry a personal joke with a mate of mine from long ago. Perhaps he'll see it one day should he revisit this video to rekindle forgotten memories.
What is the title of the soundtrack please?
I don't think I ever gave it a name, "Theme from Dungeness" I guess
It's a cracking tune
I swear I’ve been to that exact braitavano a inn
The Rigler Strikes again. Thumbs up buddy. Can you get me one of those old shacks where I can recreate the life's work that Blakeus Whitamus gave the thumbs down on at that wonderfully trustworthy other channel ^_^ Did you know that Blake is one of the most famous Film Judges in the world...His world! Love your work mate, as usual....
does anyone know who did the music for this?
I was me! sorry for the late reply
Cool video and a great tune, what a star
thanks for the info
...did you say Two days from London?
1:37
It doesn't even take 2 hours.
I did, but I didn't have time to make the trip in order to check the distance. LOL
Fecking barron place, with only the power plant that looks exciting
The visitor centre closed years ago
Thanks
No problem
terrible choice of music
@chrisMsimon Thanks Chris, those shacks sell for silly money, I'll treat you to a train ride instead
If you can't get decent photos there then you aren't any good with a camera.
Been many times and always something more to see and photograph especially good in black and white.
Very true
I wrote the music for the video
Love the area, hate this tacky, cheap, ill-informed film. Just the sort of people I wish would stay away from here.
Perhaps the info went over your head
@@MarkRigler - No more to say than that, hmm???
@@MissRandomwriter Not like you said anything of value in response, no-one owes you anything if you have a shit attitude. ew.
@@jessventures6172 You are clearly a better film maker than me
you must have a fast car LOL
Did he just say "NUCULAR" ?
Yes it's a Nuclear power station
