    Today, we're whipping up something that's been unanimously declared 'the best chilli ever' by many of my followers.
    This slow cooker chilli is elevated with the addition of smoked bacon that really takes the flavour up a notch. It’s rich, thick, and delicious.

    I don't have a slow cooker but do use a cast iron pot in the oven on low for many hours. It makes a much richer and flavoursome sauce. I also add the tomato paste when cooking onions etc as when you caramelise the puree it also adds flavour and gets rid of the raw tomato taste. Great recipe Scott 👍

      Me too, I use a cast iron pot for recipes like this. Works really well.

    Just one thing. Could you PLEASE use mince in either 500 gm or 1kg batches.. so we dont have 200 or so gms left over!!

    • @ScottBaptie
      @ScottBaptie  Месяц назад

      Hey you can easily use all of the 1kg and just adjust the seasoning :)

  • @budgieboy52

    I like to use 20% mince because it is a lot cheaper. I then strain it after the first fry to remove the extra fat, then use it as per the recipe. Ends up tasting the same, but fewer calories.

    I made this a few days ago and followed it to a T but I found it to have a bitter taste, I weighed and measured everything so I don't know what I did wrong? I ended up adding a tin of tomatoes to try and help it but it didn't much.

    • @ScottBaptie
      @ScottBaptie  Год назад +1

      Not sure why that would be I am afraid. Maybe the spices were a bit funky?

      @lynneosborne5200 Год назад

      @ScottBaptie I'd only had them for 2 weeks as I bought them new to make the recipe, I've read on the Internet that it will most likely be to much cumin but I put in exactly 1 measured tablespoon.
