Perfection! Sooo thankful that you all keep the character of your home. I faced the same bathroom redo in our 1890 and ours looks very similar to yours! It cost very little because I love to paint also and I dig my heels in when it comes to keeping it simple and full of old character!

Oh my gosh!! I think I met my other twin! I'm Brenda too, and we have so many similarities, maybe more than my real twin, Glenda! Crazy! I inherited an old farm house, the one I grew up in, built by my dad. And I've been remodeling too. Bathroom -- really wanted bead board, but chose to refinish the paneling that was removed from kitchen, that my dad also did.
I did all the painting, though I don't love painting, but do love the stubby brush. I've used that brush for every wall in this house.
I also garden, freeze dry, can, and raise chickens and dairy goats -- only 5 acreas. Put up a high tunnel this fall. Interesting watching the temperatures this winter when we hit 7 & 8 degrees in Texas! It got just as cold inside. Lost about half of my veggies; strawberries survived.
Curious where you are located. Love your place. Would love that rock root cellar. And those barns!!

How cool!!! Another Brenda and you're a twin. I have twins, but fraternal...boy and girl. That is wonderful that you live in the house that your dad built. That has to be so special.
Stubby brushes are so much easier in tight spaces, plus I just like the feel of it. It's easire to grip.
We do have a lot in common. We're actually considering goats, but probably not dairy....not sure I have the time/energy to milk all of the time.
High tunnels don't do much good when it gets that cold. I usually have fleece over the crops and sometimes have 'mini-greenhouseses'. on the plants (plastic bottles with the bottms cut out that I put over each plant) We're inSouth-Central Pennsylvania and have lots of freezes. I can only grow spinach, lettuce and kale easily over the winter. The high tunnel does help me to get things started extra early in the spring, as long as I'm ready to do some serious prep work when a big freeze comes along. Loved to see the process and it got me all excited about finishing my kitchen renovation that started just before covid then stalled out. But even more exciting is I am thinking of doing beadboard instead of tiles for the backslash so I can paint it to match the other pops of color in the kitchen. There is no rule you have to use tile for a backslash!
I actually have beadboard around my kitchen counter as a back splash. I love it, but around the sink it can get pretty splashed up at times. I just clean it and when it needs painted I give it a touch up. Best of luck with your kitchen reno.

It's Sherwin Williams Escape Gray. It's a slightly green gray. We're very happy with how it turned out.
