I haven't been there in over 36 years. We used to spend the day hiking in the wildlife refuge then hit Meers up for dinner. A lot of fond memories.
I was born and raised in Lawton. In the 70s you could have a drivers license for a small motorcycle at 14 years old. So my friends and I would ride out there quite often. Park our bikes, and then go hiking/swimming in the hot summer heat, and by the time we got to Meers we were hungry and thirsty. (This was before societies started overprotecting kids).
Absolute wonderful memories. ❤️
One of their secrets is they use ultra-lean Longhorn beef, but they fry their burgers in lard. 😋
I live in Dallas Texas now, and I still ride/drive up there about once a month so I can get a MeersBurger.

D-Licious burgers at Meers, been twice each time the pie pan sized Siesmic burger, pir tin of fries and half gallon of sweet tea, highly recommend when in Lawton take a trip to Medicine Park and dont let the "rustic" appearance deter you

I’m from Lawton and growing up me and my friends all had sport cars and raced each other constantly in the witchataw wildlife refuge especially racing down My. Scott so I’m very aware of this area now this Meres store as we would frequent this place but that was back in the 60’s and 70’s now there is a place out there can’t remember it’s name but it sells buffalo burgers and THATS THE BEST BURGER you will ever eat now I find myself in Florida at 71 however before I die I’m definitely going back and eat buffalo burgers till I burst lol hey guy I’ll hit you up when I get there

Last time I went there they were busy. I waited in line. Didn't want to take up a table for just me and all i wanted was a burger to go. Drove 50 miles for that burger. Lady told me they dont do take out without even asking me what I wanted. I'll never come back

The Meers store and restaurant is not in Medicine Park. It is in Meers, OK, about 15 miles northwest of Medicine Park, OK, another town equally famous for its fine restaurants and other attractions.
I’m sure the 17 people that live in Meers will understand…

Meers Ranch is in Meers OK, not Medicine Park.

Visited June 16, 2022 and there was no BBQ or smoked meats on the menu. Disappointed after watching this video.
Well that sucks… burgers are still good though… I wonder why?
@@watchasytvthey are a dying business. They gave up their beer brewing, downsized the ranch, cut hours and days open...
They aren't going to sell it and the owner/operators are getting old and entropy finds us all
