Triple snappin turtle move! Woe, I love a greasy burger. Holy cow, that place is really right out of a page of history. Those 3 or 4 fry stations are so funny, but in a good way. Loved the paper towel plates on the counter of those old guys eating. How cute is that. Old school and down home. Loved it and thanks. Karla in Cali.

That gal at 2:36 probably gets A LOT of attention in Tompkinsville. As to the burgers, I can tell by looking at them that they are overhyped. Ya gotta go to The Assembly in Hoffman Estates, IL if you want the best burger on earth.

I have visited Thompkinsville. A buddy of mine from my platoon in the army was from there. Although I will not mention his name, he was well known as a successful businessman in the area. Unfortunately he died 8 years ago. He never mentioned Dovie's.

I came from Brazil in 1960 and fell in love with the mom and pop stores and small restaurants like this,I love my old america and this place brings lots o ( I could not speak one word of English) 🍔🍔🍔 he made me hungry eating that burger

I live in Tennessee just below the Kentucky line and I go to Thompkinsville to walmart and always stop in and grab a few burgers

There is NOTHING like the taste of good, old fashioned, burger or hot dog! Fast food restaurants like McDonalds, Burger King, Whataburger, and all the others serve a decent product, but it is a product that we have been conditioned to over the years, and they really don't have great character. Country burger restaurants like Dovie's serve old fashioned, unpretentious burgers that do not contain all those "modern" additives like the modern burger restaurants. The result is an incredible, full bodies taste that tells your body that you've had an incredible sandwich!

I visited Kentucky for the first time in October, and this town is where I went to experience these types of places. Sad I didn't make it to Dovie's (We went to Bob's House), but will be sure to next time!

I have had the Dovie burgers and they are wonderful. Whenever I’m in Monroe County I always try and stop by for some burgers.
There is another burger place you need to try sometime. It’s called Laha’s Red Castle located in Hodgensville ( Larue County ) Kentucky. You will be amazed with their burgers too.

Actually, I think this is genius! By cooking at 3 different temperatures, they get the char on the outside without overcooking the inside, and keep it juicy all the way through the process. Genius!

Those burgers look mighty good. If I ever go thru there I will definitely stop there. I hope you will also visit Sprayberry’s bbq in Newnan, Ga. It has been in same family since 1926. Great q and stew but my favorite thing to order is their aristocratic hamburger. They serve it with onion rings and steak fries. Best onion rings I have ever tasted too. They also have really good homemade peach pies. Lots and f good food served there I live in Fl now but go back home every year and always eat there

Pal’s in northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia has a sauceburger and it is ketchup, mustard, pickles and OMG it is my favorite! I have to eat there multiple times when I go to my momma’s!

If I knew this place was there, my wife and I would have tried them out. We were at her sisters in Celina Tennessee right down the road and came through there or close to there out by the Tompkinsville Junkyard on the way home this past Monday . We will definitely try them next time.
