Well it came out in the end of 2005 considering the timeline of development you're probably right because triple h was still champion till wm 21 and they might've wanted to book him strong even in video games.

This must be the only "winning the title at Mania" cutscene where the bad guy still gets one over you by putting the both of you through the cage. That's, like, the ONE cutscene where it's usually not allowed to be that way, but Hunter be built different.
@@THENAMEISQUICKMAN I kinda get what they were going for by having J.R. and King say "no one could've survived that fall, but (your character) did!" to make your character look strong, but at the same time, couldn't my character just have his time to shine without Triple H taking some spotlight away from the big Mania moment?! Even at the real Manias during HHH's Reign of Terror era, when he dropped the belt to Benoit and Batista, he let them have their moment without attacking them.
@@BrolyLSSJ01 I guess they wanted to have triple H show he wouldn’t let anyone get the upper hand even if it caused him to fall 20 feet through a cell but it was still an absolutely awful way to end a career mode. Just shows what marrying in to the business will do for you.
Rene Dupree = was the centerpiece in every storyline that he was in and was responsible for running over Teddy Long.
Kane = was the third wheel in every storyline and every title was vacated because Eric Bischoff and JBL wanted to sabotage Raw.

44:12 Flair’s repeated quick mischievous acts had me in tears from laughing. He could have just stayed there and beat Kane down but, instead chose to ruin Kane’s spots by stealing his weapons and occasionally poking him with a ladder while woooing.
If you actually pay attention to that sequence the AI misses something like 2 dozen moves in 60 seconds

You can't deny Duel fearing Pyro is great character work. He has been doing it for years and sticks to it without fail! In today's age of post-kayfabe, no selling and characters that never stay consistent, today's wrestlers can learn from him.

Honestly, playing second fiddle to Haytch is pretty authentic for a RAW experience around 2005ish. So I'll give them credit there. I think Kane actually got less promo time with himself as the focus than Rene did on the SD story.

I can appreciate the effort that went into the storylines with most of the characters getting voice acting, but still, it’s kind of disappointing how a lot of the cutscenes limit the player to being a background character. Like, this is my story! Why am I not the focus!?
Still this was a lot of fun as always, you guys. Let’s face it, nothing can beat Kane losing the Royal Rumble, getting put back in with the guy who got disqualified for cheating by giving themselves a worse number, and then winning the thing. That was incredible.
The smackdown story was way better. With Dupree shifting the blame on others, joining and then fighting Eddie and then being outed as T.Lo's attempted murderer
Dupree's storyline actually was focused.

I believe that old men Jenkins was only used for online play i believe because I can't find any vid on RUclips where they play 2k18's carrer mode. So I don't think he counts.

Fun fact about this game's Season Mode. Had you been eliminated in that second 6-person Royal Rumble then the season mode would have ended there and then without any story between the Rumble and WrestleMania. You don't even get the trophy for completing the Season IIRC

Kane is a jobber and somehow WWE company still manage give Kane a push... win or lose doesn’t matter to Kane.
Still got the Legends storyline (With Triple H or Cena ) and the ECW returns storyline with Eddie, Kurt Angle and Austin believe it or not to look forward to. Eddie's is the most different for Smackdown.
Triple H also has a few different storylines given he was in 90% of the Raw season.
The Legends storyline can be done with more ppl than HHH and Cena bc I remember doing it w/ Shelton back in the day. But yeah I did the ECW storyline with Eddie and it was so cool
