CMDR Dredgen Totalus of the squadron FPAP (Federal Pilots Assistance Program) deserves major recognition for discovering these systems, along with CMDR Ruff Leif. Amazing work guys. 💪
I am about to give Tris Majestus a lift back to his DSSA fleet carrier (in my FC [BPFC] The Tea Party). He came back to the bubble to engineer some new Tritium mining ships to keep it supplied. He will be using the Torval size 1 mining lasers with 2.5 km range. When we get there he will help me refuel my FC for the return trip. The Tritium Highway map could be useful. Another great video CMDRs. o7
We found the best use of the long range laser is to mix with regular 3/4 or 4/3. Allows for a total of 7 laser on the Cutter, which with 20 collectors gets us up to 350 tph Tritium mining with only laser. If you're up for the SSD mini-game and FA off, you can boost that further with a combo SSD+laser build. (Note: we use the modlaser from LTT 198 which has reduced distro draw. Not sure about the Torval laser). Looking forward to hearing your experience with the hotspots!
@@mikewaterfield3599 The PD can in fact keep up with 3 regular cl2 lasers and 4 pre-engineered cl1 lasers, the ones you get from LTT 198 tech broker and have reduced distro draw compared to regular cl1. Rock will be depleted before distro runs out. If you're spicy and willing to use heatsinks now and then, go 4/3 for even faster depletion. At this point your collector limpets become the bottleneck, hence needing the Cutter for 20 of those. Bonus is mining Trit at 350 tph, or plat at 1000 tph (record by a miner in the group)
I don't own an FC yet. Still out in the black in my DBX, discovering new worlds and seeking out new life, collecting samples wherever available. I always thought it to be sad that the Limpets would stay out there after they did their job.
Top 10% finisher here, even that level was not impacted by the change to the goals and additional rank 7. Stayed pretty constant, even going down for a while for the bottom threshold. I was super ecstatic to get two racks. Thanks again and o7 CMDR Burr
My Friday evenings would not be complete without Buur's weekly video. Even when i play other games (Diablo 2 resurrected, Battlefield 1, Rise of nations extended edition), I still listen to Buur's positive Elite news!
As someone that fought to stay in the top50%, I'm very happy with double the reward! Also, it was amusing to watch the threshold for the top50% drop from it's peak around 13.5k down to around 5k over the course of the new last tier!
I saw the Top 50% requirement for the rack, saw the threshold on Inara, and gave up since it was going to be too much repetition. Then I missed the change to the CG. Dang
CALLED IT! Totally called this. 2:38 Yes, this is exactly what carriers have needed from the get go, and that the mindset is less about geographic location with respect to say "The Bubble", and more about proximity to these "Oasis in the desert", being close to one being thought of as "close to civilization" while being far away from one thought of as "In the wilds."
I worked very hard to get into the top 10 commanders in the CG by around 00:30 early on Saturday morning (BST). I knew I wouldn't stay there, but that was my 'goal'. I didn't need to do any more hauling at all, and was still in the top 10% by the end. Two days of intense hauling, followed by a relaxing five days, and still got two cargo racks. 😊
I have always been racked with guilt when leaving limpets behind. Nowits even worse! Recall limpet button, please FDev. Great Video. Thanks the update Team. 😊
Fun fact…tritium in the real world costs $30k a gram, the average mining in a corvette I averaged 150 tons in an hour or so …500 tons p.h sounds incredible and would love to know the circumstances of such a fabulous haul
Great video as always. I would prefer that they did CGs with rewards for those in the top 75%. I am retired and can spend a great deal of time in game but others have less time and smaller ships.
I refuse to be guilt-tripped over the fate of the many, many limpets I have capriciously left littered about the galaxy! (though the video was fun) Man, it's bad enough I have to listen to pirate mooks discussing their retirement plans or whatever while I'm mid settlement raid....
I bought ED from steam but installed direct from FDEV (years ago, im a 3000 hr veteran lol) but you seemingly cant get odyssey direct from FDEV now. Does this mean I'll need to uninstall, purchase Odyssey from steam and re-install the lot from there?
I stocked up on 15000 tons of tritium before I took my fleet carrier to Colonia and took my time exploring along the way. I tried my hand at tritium mining along the way just to see how effective I could make it and I got around 250 per hour, still not enough to make the time spent worthwhile while I could be exploring. Better to be rich first LOL
That's where we started, then refined builds and also noticed just how much more you can get from certain rings compared to others. It's stil time-consuming though. But very liberating to be self-sufficient in the void.
As the guy who mapped all those routes for ruff im estatic our work is making this impact. Thank you for the shout-out.

She is retired, but never tired. I will always wonder what would have been with STA21.
