It technically is possible, but... You'd need to be a certified madman to pull it off. 😂 Record to BP is 4 and a half-ish hours.
I think it's possible with neutron highway. Maybe like 23 hours but still possible. But the DBX has the highest unengineered jump range and with the guardian FSD booster. It can gooo fast
Seeing a lot of content creators I've never seen before popping up on my feed with obvious click-bait titles about Fdev going P2W. I'm glad you've not only resisted that urge but have given really clean and concise information in a non-biased way. I'd personally never buy these ships but I absolutely would have been interested in the DBX if I was starting out on the unlock process for Guardians. It looks like a good way to get into that fast. Ultimately, this is a good approach to monetisation, I think.
I'd like to see the Type 8 be a medium size ship, but with a larger cargo capacity than the classic Python

Of the type 10 is a combat variant of the type 9, it stands to reason the type 8 be the fighter variant of the type 7. Though both of them should be medium sized ships.

Leave it to fdev to add a large hardpoint and reduce the power distributor size.

But luckily the power plant can be buffed a lot by the overcharged engineering and in PvP you don't need your ship to run cold as in AX.

A single Class 6 optional is laughable too. So, you’re gonna run a 6Prismo, but no reasonable SCB to buff it? That C4 optional slot will barely fondle a 6Prismo, and then 5/6 boosters, good luck trying to draw out that PowerPlant. Who at FDev thought of these? They clearly didn’t ask anyone who actually gets involved in PvP.
If they hadn't made those compromises people would be screaming bloody murder about it being OP. It's no small wonder they don't release new ships often because people will whine about it no matter what they do.
by the stats i have seen so far it basically is an FDL with more guns, slightly better shields and better handling in overcharged supercruise. Pitch, yaw and roll values are ever so slightly better than an FDL but you would probably have to be an absolute PvP expert to notice the difference. It will be interesting to see how the ship handles the extra weapons energy-wise when using current meta configurations with rails or plasmas.

I think Fdev struck a good balance with the starter packages.

Watched Ghost Giraffe's stream earlier - the "Pythwo" is such a beautiful ship, and it seems to be a great too.
the A class SCO FSDs are good news - I put the current 5C into my Krait II Titan bomber (replacing the pre-engineered 5A) and the jump range dropped from over 25ly to slightly under 10. That's quite a hit.
That mk2 is a thing of beauty... might have to load this back up to check it out

yes getting your carrier i would highly recommend , you would need the initial purchase price plus about the same again for outfitting and upkeep , i use mine for deep space mining ,i wish you good luck 07 commander

@@TheSlayer117 if you stick to essentials, so rearm, refuel and repair then 10mil a week.
..... and you may shutdown the optional modules, when not needed, for saving upkeep. My carrier eats 25m per week, but only 14m when mods are down. 😊

It has a firepower that you can't power unfortunately, because of only 6 class power plant and distributor.

Please let's hope Frontier introduce the engineering of SCO with some lore. I mean it makes perfect sense (to me) that new tech is not engineerable from the bat, and then once the engineers play around with it they figure out how to engineer it. Be good if they also indicated whether Class B/A are likely to come later or not.
That Python Mk2 sounded like a Titan bomber to me since I don't PVP. A stable SCO to escape the Thargoid interdictions sounds good....except it'll all be over by the time it's available unless you pay Arx :(
I am sure they'll introduce it with lore, as they introduced the prototype with lore too :)
Still 5 Titans left, none with more than 0.15% total damage, so they'll be around for a few more months yet.
I love the idea of these ships, good out-of-the-box thinking to increase revenue for fdev, which doesn't break the game, impressive.

The flamboyant curves of the Python were almost enough to steal me away from the robust frame of my Lakon... the red deco is enough for me to make the switch. Looks like I returned to the bubble just in time!
Looks like FDev have taken a good look at other games selling ships and went for the reasonable route.
The ship looks stunning. I definitely will be adding one to my collection some day.
But first, I have to get some credits to be able to.

If you meant "copying, then I have to disagree. From what I've heard, ships in Star Citiszen come in at about 100 bucks, that's significantly more than those 10 bucks Elite calls.

the builds are garbage. absolutely not worth any real money, with how easy credits are to get these days just play the game for 2 days and get a better build...
I agree. I think that people were justifiably concerned about where this might be going, bit it really looks like they're doing it right.
@@raghav1026 That's kinda the point - some people earn that money in an hour of work and want to spend that hour over two days of playing the game, to skip a bit further and check out their desired gameplay more in-depth.

Definitely getting it. And I hope other new ships will have small bonuses like it as well which will make them more unique but not gamebreaking
HGE Farming: Asp Scout with FSD (SCO). it flips around faster than any other ship capable of doing HGEs (efficiently).

I wonder if the "unique feature" that was promised with the new ship variants has to do with the A-rated SCO drives. Maybe it's like how only Saud Kruger ships can fit luxury passenger cabins -- maybe only these ship variants can carry A-rank SCO?
Great camera work as always... and I'll be buying 3 (I bought loads of ARX's some time ago to support Elite and now it's time to spend them). I'm going to moth ball all three whilst I upgrade, engineer and paint them. Testing them in a lonely place in space around my carrier and then release them in August. They'll just be mu playthings for now
The "get a leg up" builds are a great idea from FDev. A good balance between to encourage new players through the grind.
At last another beautiful ship to work alongside my FDL in CZs, looking forward to jumping in one as soon as I can - deploy the Arx hose

I think it's a great idea having these starter ships and will hopefully bring a boost to game content and player count
I get that they don't want to make it OP so they people don't scream pay-to-win.
But if you add a hardpoint, you can't just downsize a powerplant. You're only gonna be able to use low power weapons in those hardpoints and you can forget about 6x A shield boosters.
I've just restarted ED, deleted my old save. Just got the python and I was thinking doesn't it have a size 7?
More weapons would need more power so this seems a bit odd.
Speed of mamba and 7 class power plant, more maneuverability, tank and hardpoints? U sure its good idea?
@@lblackeight6087 I would honestly prefer if it had an adequate power plant in exchange for some other drawback like being little bit slower or having smaller heat capacity or only 5 utility mounts
Of course it's pay-to-win - you don't pay insurance when it gets destroyed! That's as pay-to-win as it gets! Python 2 it's directly comparable with the FDL with regards to PvP! People will be using it for everything because it mitigates against the risk of PvP.

Looking forward to get my hands on the new Python 2.0, though I am no PvP player, from what was shared here, it will be a perfect fit for my RP character ingame, I was expecting something like being able to stable flight with the supercruise overcharged FSD , also looking forward to see how that looks like and how much more usable it will be!

*- 6 utilities for all the Heat Sinks, Caustic Sink Launchers, Thargoid Pulse Neutraliser, Enhanced Xeno Scanner, etc.*
*- High maneuverability and speed for navigating the Titan's Heat Vents.*
*- Plenty of hardpoints for damaging the Heat Core once exposed.*
*- Room left over in both utilities and hardpoints for mounting modules and weapons for dealing with patrolling Scouts and Interceptors, as well.*

Build it to be a silent/cold running stealth ship, then the PP and distro should be able to handle it. 🤔

It looks amazing and indeed seems to be more PvP oriented in the slots and hardpoints! Very excited for this to hit the shelves (both ARX and ingame). It'll be a perfect BGS gunboat that's ready for PvP should your faction's enemies try to Openly interfere.

Yes right on arrival. I love the ship looks. I also want to spent money on ED to ensure server and development costs are covered. I am totally not PvP but the P Mk2 looks awesome and i just want it in my collection. I like how Frontier Development carefully works around the Pay2Win Issue. Nice Job so far.

What's the rebuy on pre-built ships does the package come with a fist full of dollars for insurance?
While looking like a Python and sharing its name, it's fairly apparent that this is functionally a completely different ship. Unlike the Krait Mk II and the Krait Phantom that have only minor differences in internals, hardpoints, and performance, the difference between the Python and the Python Mk II is significant. I hope the difference between the Type-8 and presumably the Type-7 it is a "variant" of will prove to be just as varied so as to essentially give us a new ship, even if it is a variant by name.
The Type 8 must, I repeat must, be zero emissions and fully cloaked with a zero cargo capacity. I mean, all Type 8s over the past ten years have followed this trend. I’ll be right put out if that changes. 🤪
What a beautiful ship, loving this new focus on Elite, after the Thargoid war it feels like we are getting more stuff and hopefully these new ships will bring in some cash. You could buy a meta pvp ship for arx but you can't buy the skill needed to be good at pvp. Let's hope haulers get some new builds too.
So does the jump start ship packs also include some credits for an unexpected rebuy?
Cause it'd be funny if a fresh new commander goes straight in open/in front of a space flowers, with the new shinies only to be popped without spare credits to rebuy.
Apparently they're free to rebuy so long as you're using the stock parts that come with the pack. If you add / change modules you pay to rebuy those only.
No one has said how fast it is. What are pitch amd roll rates? How much boost delay between boosts?

This is a great combat ship to be sure but I'm thinking about titan bombing or Orthrus killing ATM.
This could be great for that! It will be a weak on the armor but at least you can easily stack 3 module reinforcement mods on it.
Another concern is if that Class 6 Power plant can be engineered to run cold enough

Great video i will get the Python mk 2 , i dont tend to buy a lot of stuff from the store , apart from the odd paint skin , so will go for this, with regards the starter ships the diamond back interests me the most , along with the type 6 ,not so bothered about the chieftan as i am not that interested in thargoid content or combat related missions involving that part of the game.
Also i am getting my power play modules that i want now before the big changes , which might make them more difficult to get its a big unknown , they might improve it only to break it :}

Question to @TheBuurPit if you buy these ships, are they available if you reset the game?
I’m not sure if I misunderstood or if it was a typo but the SCO drives will have E-A ratings available assuming the outfitting menu of Ghost Giraffe’s Mars is to be believed. Furthermore assuming these drives are in release conditions they’ll have 12% more optimized mass and 4% more max fuel per jump, extrapolating these numbers to a 6A drive and applying engineering this could get an Anaconda to 94.54ly unboosted… or 378.16 with a neutron boost. I’m unsure if we’ll see A rate drives larger the C5 or if they’ll retain these increased numbers but I’m hopeful.
Also BTW, the MK2 only has 2 C1 internals, one is reserved for the Approach Suite.
I'd like them to implement some kind of interest feature for credits tbh. I have trillions of them, don't need arx at all, I could just survive on the interest if such a thing existed in the game. I worked for my credits, so they should now work for me.
Hearing the guardian equipment still needs unlocks for the non-prebuilt ships is reassuring. It demonstrates they acknowledge that a slippery slope exists. Keep doing that, FDev.

Im surprised at the very limited module slots. Though an extra C3 hard point will be game changing is shes fast. I wonder what her max will be with G5 dirty drag drives. If shes fast she will probably become my go to AX ship.

So, the Python mk II added another large hardpoint, but nerfed the power distributor as well? Ship no longer has the distributor to power that extra hardpoint, so it's a DPS loss.

If Fdev really wanted to give people a taste of different ships, they’d have included a simulator in the game to test them. You know, like how other games do.
What about Python Mk2 fuel tank? How many jump it can make in one tank? I really hate FDL for tiny fuel tank.
A new exploration options would be fantastic! I have over 2k hours logged in my AspX and another 1500 in both Kraits lol.
