LOL 😂 Love it mate. That made me laugh. You know I’m a huge fan of your channel and thanks for making me a troll of the week. That’s definitely a first. Stay safe buddy 👍🏼
Hi Mel. You missed one step out of filling safefill bottle. after connecting the LPG nozzle, open the gas valve on the bottle then press the fill button on the pump. When Safefill bottle auto-shuts off. close the valve before removing the LPG nozzle. I am well on my way on recovering the cost of these bottles, The only downside is the nearest place to refill mine has a worn out nozzle so doesn't always work(Morrisons) and they are going to stop supplying LPG Autogas in 2024. So I do use an app to find the nearest and cheapest working LPG supplier on route.
NEW SUBSCRIBER! I plan to convert my 2010 Honda Odyssey into a camper, so I have been researching this project. That's how I found your channel. I really enjoy your information and presentation - entertaining instruction, indeed. Thank you. Two years ago I was privileged to visit Liverpool Hope University. While there, I visited the barbershop on Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, and the church where Elenor Rigby is buried. The highlight was visiting the Beatles Museum; it was fantastic. I am a big fan of Brit TV. Snooker, too. I watch the matches on RUclips. That's where I noted that some people on your side of the pond say "thank you" a bit differently than most. It sounds like "fank you." I find this curious. I am not being critical, and I am not campaigning for Troll of the Week. HA! Again, thanks for your videos. I will continue watching. (The one on the pull out bed was interesting.)
Hi Norm thank you for subscribing and more so taking the time to comment that’s really appreciated great observation we love to destroy the English language 👍🤓👍
I fully agree with you on the van bulkhead. We removed ours and did a van build including a 350 watt solar panel and 2 fiamma roof vents. Unfortunately the brand new van developed a leek on a roof seam with water wrecking a lot of the interior. Iveco fixed the fault but refused to compensate us because we removed the bulkhead and added weight directly to the roof. They said this weakend the structure
Hi Mel, I love my safe fill bottle! I tried pricing up an underslung LPG kit and couldn't do it under £500-600 quid. And then you have to fit it... Plus you can always take the safe fill bottle with you which is handy. Just hope in Europe we don't get too many fuel stations refusing to fill it.
One of my former students, lives in his van up Lake District. Found a nice spot for a few days, then another transit rucked up behind. After a few days noticed van hadn't moved. He tried the rear door, opened and as a former paramedic said, smell of death wafted out. Old boy in his 70's dead. Called police. Might be good idea if you have friends, just let them know where you are going, daily phone call? Some folks may not have friends. Look out for each other.
Hi Mel , I'm having a bit of trouble with my gasit bottle and I've tried everywhere to find the answer . I recently moved my bottle to another van and I didn't realize there was gas in the bottle when I removed it , so gas rushed out of the filler side and then stopped . Now when i try to fill it , it won't accept a refill . I am wondering if some sort of valve has stuck, if it has I don't know how to reset it . Thanks in advance 😰😰
Quick question. My connector in my gas cupboard (usually goes into calor bottle) screws into my new Safefill (thanks for the recommendation) but as there`s no gas in it I can`t tell if its sealed. Looking inside it looks different to the inside of a Calor bottle. Does yours? Will it seal when I get out on the first trip? Ta. Martin (Newquay)

Hi Mel so I can go to the garage the petrol station and fill that up myself how do you know how much to put in it and when it is full does the LPG pump know!- when one of those bottles is full?
As long as you are using a safe fill bottle like the one in this video you will be fine it has a cutoff valve to stop you from over filling it where as the ordinary bottle you can over fill that’s why they’re not safe to fill yourself all ways use a safe fill bottle 👍🤓👍

Mel, have you seen the GasIt system with bottles that have 2 ports on them, a 1 way valve on the fill port and a feed one with an isolation valve that you put a pigtail on to the regulator? The fill port also has a pigtail that goes to a fill point like you originally had...mounted wherever works best 😉

Hi Mel, always look forward to your videos, informative and humourous. My question is propex heater versus diesel heater? Is it worth thinking of propex as they look quieter and use less power due to no pump or glow plug.
Hi Liz I really simple way to spot a garage that sells LPG is looking at the price signs you normally see only 2 prices one for petrol and one for diesel but if the garage sells LPG you will see 3 prices 👍🤓👍

Personally i prefer the gas it lpg refillable bottles ...had them in my last 3 vans . Ive found some places will refuse to let you fill a bottle if they see the bottle so i always fit external filling points to my vans. That said the next van i build is having an underslung tank fitted instead of the bottles. 5kg is far too small for fulltiming use IMHO
