Respect for actually going ahead with the BMW. All too easy, and understandable, to just say no to the work when you realise someone else has been messing with it before
I can relate to that. Anything mobile and injector is a tough one for me probably for the same reasons as you. I did a transit recently - running fine but 2 intermittent injector faults. 1 injector came out easy. The other I couldn’t get out. Sent him to an injector specialist - that injector snapped on the way out and they had to use the full on injector tube removal screw kit on it! Was a nightmare so I’m glad I stopped before I snapped it off! Well done for getting the X5 sorted! Nice when they work out like that! 👍🏼
Just do the basic servicing on our 2 cars , but every year strip and clean the brakes . It's a chore but just feel it has to be done . Nice to see a professional doing the same .
Great job ! BMWs are specific. THis one has also fuel line bleeding function by Diagnostic tool. You can use it next time . Also this one is M57 engine and this one does not a problem with HP fuel pump.
My regular main dealer lost my respect a couple months ago for lying about a service too.oil supposedly only 2000 miles old but black as tar when I pulled it as i never got a proper invoice and a suspicious conversation. Is main dealer history worth it when you get engine failure thanks to their fibs?! Great vids. Back to doing car and bike myself.
Ive seen and dealt with the injector fault on a 6 cylinder bmw before , exactly the same symptoms and also number 6 that had failed , apparently its usually number 6 as its right at the back and water drips from the scuttle , probably explains the rust
Love the content great work Aaron. I did like the video thst included the drop links change, however would have loved a bit more detail. Tools used/needed. I recently done my wife's on audi a3, all I cam say is grinder came in useful ha. Not a mechanic just diy. Watched all your vids up to date. Keep them coming. Great to see all the mechanic tricks.
Another tip I used to use was put some grease or even barrier cream if you use it into the socket then place the nut/bolt inside and it won't drop out. Same principle with a ring spanner.
Mate I feel your pain was mobile for years up here in Glasgow where rainy season can be all year round at times, when winter comes you just hope for a frozen day just to get a break from the wet...... brings back good memories and bad memories......and as for being supplied wrong parts 😡🤬 bad enough in a garage never mind mobile
have an x5 myelf so had a very keen interest in this one 'just in case', but to be honest as much as i knew the injectors had to be coded, i had no idea if incorrect it would cause the car to be effectivly a non runner..thanks for the info fella @@kerbsidemobilemechanic
SMA with Eric O , he has some interesting fuel injector testing using a scope. It's amazing what can be diagnosed without removing components. The scope is a bit pricy though.
@@kerbsidemobilemechanicor look at a micsig saves having to lug and charge a laptop up or running leads to the laptop when you’ll have plenty of other leads running to sensors / injectors etc.

Hyans pro is that equivalent to Auto data also what diagnostic tool do you recommend for about £500 does not have to be a new one like if I buy a new tool for £500 a good used one a couple of years old would that bea better choice ?
@@kerbsidemobilemechanic Just general lack of knowledge. I'm not a mechanic and almost ordered a wrong injector. A quick call to someone who knows was worth it.They are way too expensive to fuck up.
Just finished watching, great video. Guess the fud who was in at the injectors didn’t check their work earlier, worst nightmare putting things right, Thank god glad everything went well 👍 nearly 4K subs now, looking forward to next upload
Had a tidy up in garage. Found about 30 sets of unused in the box brake pads, none of which fit any of our cars. Am I alone in this?(I did inherit most of them)

Yeah if you’re more than capable of servicing your own car and knowing what to check over on the car then 100% I’d encourage more to do so 👍🏼

Generally speaking oil can go quite dark almost straight away on either high mileage or diesel cars, I don’t rate main dealers one bit unfortunately
@@kerbsidemobilemechanic agreed, but it’s a low mileage performance petrol!
Ah well yeah I’m that case maybe they didn’t do it 🤷🏻♂️
they lied for the sake of what's probably £30 approx worth of Oil & Filter, wow that's a new Main Stealer low

@kerbsidemobilemechanic fair play thats a fair point and it is great work. I am just selfish ha 🤣

15:00 great tip! I use a magnet and then screw with the magnet until the nut holds.

It’s a TopDon ArtiDiag pro 👍
Nice one buddy 👌👌strange they muddled up all the injectors when they put them back in 😞
Well, didn’t look the neatest of jobs from all the silicone sealant around inlet
Decent content keep it up, what is the scan tool you have?

Hmm a bit indifferent about them tbh
Im not a mechanic but watching your job makes me think twice about moaning about my work struggles im in building industry 😉

Exellent😊
Thanks again 👍
Where did you get that gazebo?
Search 24MX, if I remember correctly I bought it directly from their site
Big up from Scotland mate can ask a question i having a citroen berlingo multispace and horn stopped working and drivers door window sometimes works then sometimes doesn't. 2010
Maybe 2 separate faults there mate, maybe slip ring for the horn and drivers door switch faulty
@kerbsidemobilemechanic thanks mate 👍
No drama
Where do you buy spare parts from?
Mostly euro car parts 👍

Greetings from Moscow, how much does it cost on average to change engine oil without materials?
Normally I charge 1.5 hours which includes other things not simply just dropping the oil and changing the filter 👍
Cant believe how many times people fuck up the codes on the injectors. Sometimes they even put a wrong injector in there, the codes need to match.
You’d have thought it can’t be that difficult right

Haha I sometimes come across parts but usually just take them back no problem
These have been around for some time, all bleached and water damaged packaging. But inside still wrapped in plastic, the mystery brake pads.
They’ll come in useful one day 😂😂
If I was you I would get a roll out canopy attached to the side of your van like campers have.
I have enquired about one I like the look of and it’s 💰💰💰
Haha BMW’s the gift that keeps on giving scrap that shit and stay away 😂😂😂😂

Wire brush not a file
Have you tried to wire brush rust before?
if you dont put injector code in will it run ,I,m told its only for fine tuning
The injector code must always match the cylinder position that they are fitted in the engine. That is why the car was cutting out.
Yeah ok to start it and run but as soon as any load (fine tuning you can call it) was just stalling 👍
👌👌

Totally agree with you mate, apart from I’ve seen videos of people sucking the oil out and getting the same if not more amount of oil out of a sump
