As a violinist I’ve experienced great shoulder and neck pain after 20+ years of playing, it has gotten much worse and I may require surgery if I cannot find a more comfortable set up. This surgery would buy a rod up through my neck and limit rotation which could keep me from playing. This is my career and passion, potentially losing music would be losing my purpose and life. I feel I would greatly benefit from the dolfinos system and ultimately continue to teach music and play professionally. Thank you🎶

I would love to have one of these chin rests. My violin teacher told me that I need to get a center mounted chin rest. I have looked at Dolphinos, but thought it was too expensive for a beginner. I have been playing just over a year (I’m 72 years old). I have really enjoyed your Master classes that you did with Trala. You are so talented and beautiful. Thanks for your inspiring RUclips videos.

This seems to be a brilliant system, and may be just what I am looking for when needing to replace/do away with my shoulder rest which is long out of production but is perfectly suited to personal needs. Thank you for the review and give away.

Hi Esther! My name is Sergio. I love this violin chin rest, I think it is really revolutionary and I am excited to see that someone has decided to invent something so useful and configurable 😊
To explain a little about myself, I am a violinist with many years of experience. I have always had the feeling that my chin rest was not the right one for me so a few months ago I started to do some research on the subject. Then I found very interesting articles in which they explained that it is better to cover the space to fill between your chin and your collarbone with the chin rest, instead of filling it with the shoulder rest. So I've been going to various stores and trying a lot of chin rests but haven't found something that meets my needs. I have a long neck and the illusion of having an adjustable chin rest so that I can play the violin with a low shoulder rest or even no shoulder rest. When I saw your video I was delighted to see this beautiful adjustable chin rest, and being able to get it as a gift would be a dream for me! 🥰 I was already subscribed to your RUclips channel as I enjoy your videos a lot. I also subscribed to the Dolfinos RUclips channel. I would love to win this amazing chin rest ❤️ Thank you for your generosity! Either way, I am delighted to have met you in RUclips, you are a brilliant violinist and a truly charming person. Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🎁

Hi Esther, I was first fascinated by your bow range comparison video and besides it was short enough to recognise the difference between bows, I found myself falling into your channel for a while and loved your music and smile! I hope I would be able to get this chin rest as I am about to start picking up violin after a few years rest, you are one of my inspirations and I sincerely wish to get this!! Thanks❤️

Hello, I'm Karina and I've recently started music uni, thus I've had to increase the amount of study time for violin, wich I absolutely enjoy! The only problems that I've been trying to fight off are bad neck and back pains... My complexion is very petite, so I've found trouble finding an adjustable set up for my violin, added to this... I get really bad allergies with nickel so I get very painful rashes whenever I forget to put a cloth in my neck. This chinrest set-up would be such a great relief so I can keep practicing a lot without worrying about damaging my body or skin 😃 Love you, Esther!!!

Hi Esther, today I have found your channel and I am fan of you from now on. I live in the Netherlands and discovered the violin a few weeks ago and it is already my biggest hobby. At the moment I write this I have a really bad headache, probably from too long practicing yesterday... So I really hope I can win the chin rest for more comfort! I'm going to listen to your beautiful playing now and hope it will relieve my headache.. Best wishes, Miranda

This looks amazing! I have struggled with chin rests and shoulder rests throughout my entire playing career. Sometime playing is down right painful. I’ve continued playing anyways, but it would be amazing to have a chin rest that actually gets high enough. Thank you for doing this wonderful chinrest give away!

Fingers crossed :) I have been through at least 6 or so chin tests trying to find the right one. I have a longer neck, so finding one that is both comfortable and tension reducing is difficult for me. Some have reduced my neck pain and jaw tension, but I still have yet to find the one that does the job well enough. I’ve been searching for years, so I’m hoping this one is the perfect fit! The features are very impressive and it looks as if it can make a lot of improvements to my posture and technical abilities. Either way I am very grateful for this opportunity. Thanks for the wonderful review and comparisons :) happy holidays!!

Dear Esther, thank you very much for your review, it opened my eyes!
I usually study medicine at the Charité in Berlin and have been working for the Berlin Philharmonic since the pandemic. By carrying out the Covid tests, I got close to the musicians and rediscovered my love for playing the violin and recently discovered your channel. When I started playing the violin at the age of 6, I could not have suspected that I would later be 1.90 m tall and that it could lead to difficulties in bowing, intonation in very high registers or my posture. The chin rest by DOLFINOS would therefore make playing the violin much more pleasant and enjoyable. I would be so beyond happy about it. :) Merry Christmas to everyone! ✨

    Hi Esther!
I started the violin a bit later than most people. Since then I have been playing almost every day for 3 years. My teacher, who is also my aunt, just had me start bachs solo works for the violin! We started with the E major preludio. I am tall and I think that having a taller chin rest would help with the neck discomfort I have been having recently.
I love your channel. You always have lots of positive energy and a big smile. Please keep the positive vibes coming.😁

    Hi Esther,
Great video! You really inspire me! I have been playing the violin for 13 years and I am 17years old. I am really interested in the chin rest because I need a comfier set up for my practice. I practice about 5hours a day and the chin rest would be very beneficial. I have been having problems with my current chin rest as it has been affecting my jaw. This chin rest looks amazing! It looks like it would be really suitable for me because it seems to be quite petite.
I hope you continue to do great videos like these. You are an amazing violinist. Xxxx

My current teacher at the Conservatory (Italy) is against shoulder rest but I've never found a chin rest that could suit my long neck so I tend to use the head to keep the violin in place, but it creates a lot of tension in my back and it's not very pretty to see. Thank you Esther😭informative video as always. I’ve always wanted to change my chin rest because I’ve always used the standard one but I’ve been starting to notice comfort issues with it after playing with a violin with another chin rest. It helped a bit when I changed my shoulder rest, however, I would like to eventually change my chin rest and one day be able to play without a shoulder rest. I can’t afford to change it right now (rip college life😔) so I was super excited when you announced the giveaway!! Of course I get that there will only be one winner so I’ll be super happy to anyone who wins this❤️ happy holidays~~

Hi Esther! Thank you for your review and all your advices, they are always very helpful. During the last two/three months I had been experimenting with different chin rests or shoulder rests, trying to find the perfect system and position for me. I played for 5 years when I was a child, then i quitted at 13 years old for soo many reasons. I started playing violin again a year and a half ago and I managed to pass the exams to go to music school, but now I'm way more tense. I'm a little girl, my hands and arms are little too. (If I stretch my hands I can play maximum an octave on piano) From the outside it would look like I'm playing a viola because of my size, hahahhaha! So I'm struggling with it too. My neck pain has increased lately , and my left shoulder is often tense, as of course my arms, my hand and then my fingers.I feel like there's something wrong with my system and position, and I'm still looking for those details that could make me feel more comfortable playing violin. That's why I would love to win this chin rest; as I trust your reviews, I know that this is going to be helpful to me. Then, I reeeeally want to feel more relaxed playing violin and the music I love. A part is being played by my anxiety too, but I'm sure that a different system could be a very good start to relax on my instrument. Tension is being one of my biggest enemies currently, it's frustrating not being able to play emotionally because of it! Grazie mille from Italy!

Hello, lovely review! I would love to try this chin rest system as I am quite allergic to the exposed metal on my violins' chinrests currently. Hello Esther Abrami!
I would love to win this chin rest. I had this exact shape in mind as you use it, the higher it can be set the better.
I am still a complete beginner as far as playing goes. Violin has always been a desire of mine. Corona was the perfect time to start. Another RUclipsr, by the way, gave the impetus.
So, I did a lot of research, to the point where I was able to filter out the less good instruments by looking at pictures. Then I actually found a violin that met my expectations and fit into the budget.
That the note was no longer inside bothered me little. However, a lot of work came to me with the good piece.
The necessary professional repair of my violin took further weeks of research. Now the fingerboard is made, the top sits perfectly again where it belongs, the tuning pegs are new and properly worked in... many other little things have been corrected. The shellac polish was a real challenge.... after my desk, I ventured to the instrument.
There was really a lot to learn. Along the way, I then optimized the sound holes as much as possible, there was still potential there to make the violin a little 'freer'.
My handicraft training made that possible.
What is missing is the chin rest. I tried a few and this is the one I had in mind as optimal. Only I had not found it.
Now I have two more questions for you. My thoughts led me to think that it might be better to have another hole in the bridge, so that the frequencies are better separated from each other. There, where they 'cross' each other. Since I am still fresh in the subject, I thought maybe someone had tried this before me. The French masters had exactly this hole in the bridge. Later, the design of the Italians was also adopted in France, which is actually what everyone uses today. Have you ever played with such an old French bridge?
The second question: Can you imagine that the violin would vibrate more freely if you left out the one fine tuner? The Wittner company has a tuning peg with transmission in their product line. Have you tried them?
If you like I will send you the links.
    Liebe Grüße

Hello, thanks for the review (for me :) ) it's made very well! I'm not that good at writing sentimental or beautiful comment 😅 especially, if it's about having the chance to win such a generous gift from such a awesome violinist and person. Of course for me as a young violinist, who really wants to achieve something in the beautiful world of music, by giving the best he can, it would be just perfect to get such a good chin- and shoulderrest. Even if I maybe don't get it I want to thank you very much for the giveaways you are doing this month. But especially for anything else. Finally a chin rest that is adjustable in height. Meaning it can be set very precisely at optimal height. Have always been and are stil struggling to find one that does just that. Either the shape isn't quite right or it is either too heigh or too low (the latter now that I'm transitioning to no shoulder rest). Seems like this one could finally provide a solution.

Hi Esther 🙂 I'm a student looking to going to a conservatory next year. Currently, I'm trying to improve my set up and trying out different shoulder rests/positions as I sometimes struggle with having a stiff neck or get some pain. I would love to have this chin rest, it seems of really high quality and really think it could help out with my posture and stiffness. Love the videos ❤️

I’m interested in this system and I think this would be perfect por me, here is the reason:
I’d like to try this new system because it looks versatile enough and with different degrees of customization, I believe it would help me solve my setup issues that affect my posture. Also, the pad looks amazing!, I can see in the videos how it doesn’t slide! all my shoulder rests slide off of my shoulder all the time and I have to adjust them constantly.
I have always loved playing the violin. Ever since I started studying, I have been trying to find a perfect setup for my violin playing; I have tried lots of different chin rests and lots of shoulder rests as well. None of them have been ideal for me, I have developed pain in my neck and in my back due to this. I can’t play for more than a straight hour, I have to take regular breaks so my neck and back get relaxed.
Although I’m not a professional player, I know that my setup is the main issue. I have no problems changing positions and moving around the violin when I’m studying, my hand is not tense at all nor is it my arm and my shoulders. The problem is that I have to lean my head forwards and downwards a bit in order to hold the violin because I have kind of a long neck; I have a centered chin rest that helps me improve my posture, but I still feel my posture fairly asymmetric.
I feel frustrated during my study sessions because I get tired really quickly and I don’t make a great progress as I would like to.
Thank you for reading my comment :). Good look to everyone in this giveaway!

I’m a Masters student studying viola. I tried every chinrest on the market and still couldn’t find a good match. I started with violin as a child and I played always without a shoulder rest. The problem I faced throughout the years is that the commercial chinrests doesn’t usually come with have enough height. One has to put cork under the chinrest, but that kills the sound of the instrument and it‘s also quite unstable. This system sounds and looks amazing, also how you can adjust the height. I get the same neck tension like you mentioned in the video so I would ne interested to try it out personally and hopefully find comfort in my playing. The silicon pad also looks definitely like something I would enjoy using. Thanks for the opportunity!

I would be so happy if I could win this chin rest system. Since I started playing violin I've had problems with my posture caused by my long neck, this has caused me several problems. I've resolved some of them with the years, but I haven´t found the perfect set of chin/shoulder rest for me and my body, so having the opportunity of trying this chin rest would be perfect since it's difficult for me to afford this products and try different sets. Hope you read my comment! :)
Also, thanks for doing all you do, you're an amazing player. I hope I can see you live soon!

Hi, Esther! I’m so interested in this chin rest, because I have a similar one and I play without a shoulder rest (I use a red sponge) and even though it’s comfortable, it’s too small!! This chin rest would really help my pain and allow me to continue playing without a shoulder rest. Thank you!

So hello, I really want this chinrest because I play the violin for a long time now and my chinrest is not very comfortable. Yours seems more big and comfy compare to mine. I also really love your channel. Have a great day. Stay healthy! :)

I find Wittner Augsburg Centered chin-rest to be excellent value for money. 4 heights to choose from, anatomically shaped, non-allergenic composite material.

I really wish I had this chin rest bc although I play violin for 12 years now I have not found the perfect set which suits my body. I have tried many shoulder rest but nothing really made a difference, now I feel like the last chance is to try chin rests. In my view the comfort during playing plays the key role in practising ( especially for many hours), and has a major impact of body tension while performing
    Best regard Esther

I would love to win this chin-rest for my (high necked)father as a Christmas present because I saw it on his computer but is a bit to expensive for us to buy.
I am now also since a long time subscribed to you both as I love your videos and was fansinated by the engineering in the Dolfinos especially that you can raise the height and that it improves the sound.

Hi! My daughter is a freshman (in college) violin performance major at a nearby conservatory. She's always struggled with her shoulder rest/chin rest combination due to a longer neck, and now her new conservatory violin teacher wants her to learn to play without a shoulder rest, and no chin rest we can find seems to be tall enough. Our nearest violin shop (over an hour away) is closed for trying on different rests and in house instrument trials (only open for picking up orders) due to COVID, so she can't go try any out. This adjustable rest sounds like just the thing that could allow her to finally go without a shoulder rest. I have subscribed to both your channel and Dolfinos' channel.

Hi Esther. I think that chin rest might be exactly what I need. I play without a shoulder rest also and I still couldn't find a shoulder rest that feels comfortable. To be honest, it's the main reason why I haven't been practicing as much as I should. The shape of your chin rest in particular looks very interesting, because it's pretty wide for a center chin rest. I often find most center chin rests to be a bit too small, like I need a bit more space to move or slightly change the position of my chin, you know?. Also being able to adjust the height is a huge plus. I think the pad to put under it is a great idea too. And the fact you have nothing sticking out at the end sounds good too.
The thing is I'm from Argentina and right now we have some horrible regulations making it almost impossible to make international purchases here, so I don't think I'll be able to order this anytime soon.
Either way, if I don't get picked for the giveaway I'm still saving this video for the time when I can order it, or in case someone can bring it for me sometime.
Thanks for the review. And for all your content!

I would love to win !
I don't have a good charitable reason for wanting the chinrest other than I would love to try it. It looks so good on your violin and I think would on mine too.
I have some neck tension and I am tall with a long neck. Fact: I have practiced every single day since March this year and I am fully committed to playing 🎻. I love your playing , you are amazing !! I really hope I win 🙏.
    Thank you.

Hi Esther! I would love to try this chin rest. I've had problems in the past with uncomfortable setup for my violin, and I've recently started to play without a shoulder rest which seems to work quite well for me! I think this chin rest would improve my comfort when playing even more (especially if I will be able to adjust the height!), and this sticky pad for the back of the violin would also allow me to play without having to pull down my sleeve like you mentioned😅thanks!💜

Dear Esther, it looks like you may have found your chinrest! Im still experimenting.thank you for the offer of entering the giveaway but im not interested. I must touch and feel and mount the chin rest in order to determin if it is suitable for my anatomy. Someone out there needs that chinrest more than me. I am content. Thank you! Your runs are effortless in appearance very gypsy like and old world Italian dance like. Very gorgeous! I wish i could play that well! Thank you for demostrating the Dolphinos system of chinrest! Bye for now!😅

It would be a nice christmas gift for myself.

I'm a violinist from Spain, and I really like all of your videos and what are you doing right now with the 12 christmas presents. You are very generaous😍.
I would like to have one of this chin rest because my chin rest is very old, and I change the violin, the bow, because I'm studying hard to try to continue in the life of the music, and a new chin rest could be great. Thank you❤❤

I would love to win this! I feel I need a taller chin rest and am keen to try and play without a shoulder rest. I know it dampens the sound and have been looking for a set up like this for a while. Im working towards my violin diploma so this would be a wonderful addition to my learning. X
