When I lived in California in the 60s crap on the sidewalk and they would put you under the jail. Pulled off the road near Salinas to get some sleep. Deputy stopped and told me I could sleep under the Salinas river bridge. Woke up the next morning with people looking in the Windows. It was a hobo jungle.
Moved my family to Carson City, Nevada in on September 11th, 2006. Sure felt good to live in the United States again. From Sonora near Yosemite.

DMV mistake???? Total BS. California DMV asks everyone, citizen and non-citizen if that person would like to be registered to vote without verifying eligibility. I was present when that question was posed to an applicant who I knew for a fact was a non-citizen. Trust me. That was no mistake.

I lived in the Bay Area in the late 1960s and loved it!! California is such a beautiful place with lost, thrown away potential because of the ideology this man described. I'd love to live in California again, but cannot because of how liberalism has destroyed it.

I grew up in Sunnyvale, CA. Defense companies like Lockheed were hiring people off the street. Affordable houses were popping up everywhere. It was a beautiful place.

Today I met 2 Homeless females. The first is so smart but she lost her job, home then car. She told me stories of how scary it is being a female and no way to protect her self. The 2nd was trying to walk and was in so much pain she was screaming. I saw her, turned my car around and parked. I ran to her she was crying so I gave her a hug and held her untill she felt better. She had back surgery and was dumped out of the hospital. She had staples going up her back. I gave her a ride to a center that could help her.Her story was devastating also. She has been stabbed and beat up many times. I cried for hours afterwards. Calif. can spend money on illegals while Citizens are homeless. Sick

That's nice and all but what we as a people need to do is actually help those people suffering and not just drop them off at "centers". It's easy to blame government and other people for the decline but the real problem is US. Jesus said to help the needy and poor. Not bring them somewhere else to be helped by someone else. That's the root of our problem. We don't love thy neighbor or our enemies.

Iam sorry for all the homeless not just in california but throughout the world......i am barely making it in california ....770 dollars plus utilities in an apt with 1 bedroom and the tiniest kitchen....plus 400$ car payment and 245 for phones to house me my wife and 4 year old son....we barely get by on temp work there is no jobs by me in lancaster ca....plz pray for me as i am praying for all the others

Some, like my doctor, are highly educated legal immigrants, but the vast majority have little education and few skills...and they have lots of children.

The southern border along California is one of the most if not the most monitored in the country and I don't see that changing any time soon. The fact that democratic politicians in California advocate for a more open approach to dealing with illegal immigrants entering our country illegally does not mean they are for open borders. Open borders means that people from both sides of the border would be able to move freely from one country to the other as they do in the Schengen area within the European Union. If the US did that with Mexico you would see a spike of potentially millions of immigrants come to the US via the border. Democrats don't stand for that. Breitbart came out with a news article saying that Nancy Pelosi supports open borders, however there is no substantive evidence to that claim.

@Stig's Useless Cousin I am from another country also, I never thought to build my future base in food stamps or welfare, however, I know too many people from Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Cuba, Venezuela, besides some minor groups from Syria depending month a month of federal assistance. I pay taxes, you pay taxes, we work hard, we know it is possible to be independent so why other people can't, are they disabled?

They are ruining mine too, they buy real estate out of their state, and then jack up the rents astronomically . One location that I know of they have raised the rents up to %39 in a 2 year period. California is a beautiful state but living there sucked...glad I'm out. Outrageous prices and so many crazy people. I've never seen so many people acting like children until I lived there, from fist fighting at bus stops to homeless people growling at me, a lady throwing stuff in a store bc she wanted a refund, someone getting out of their car at a red light and slapping the other driver for cutting them off. Saw these kinds of things every day and was absolutely shocked at their behavior, a group of teens asking me if they can cut in line bc they didn't want to wait like everyone else and said I was mean and f*** you when I said no (I was 9 mo. prego). Alot of people are so entitled and unhinged there, they do not know how to be civil or control their emotions and they all gravitate towards California for some reason. I feel bad for the normal people that live there. Got a $500 ticket for accidentally running a red light (it turned fast). If anyone is thinking about moving there for the glitz and glamor DON'T. There is nothing glamorous about it, it's very dirty in LA and a real disappointment. So many homeless people. Sad. It would be a real beautiful place if they just cared to keep it clean and put their money into things that would actually help the state and if people actually cared about each other there.
@n52nimbus I did live in a nice area in Seal Beach and it was very cool and there were nice people... But many crazy too, and with no respect like I mentioned. I know not everyone is like that but I met so many like that there more than anywhere else. Never seen so many public outbursts than I did in California and I've lived in many places. Glad for your family and that they have done well. Like I said it's a beautiful state but could definitely do way better in a lot of things. Too much potential there to have it like it is in some parts. Prices seemed so inflated there, taxes high... I seem to get so much more for my money now that I'm out of there.
I have only visited Sacramento, which I liked, and Palm Springs which was okay. What do you think about northern California vs southern? Is it okay to live in the north? The stuff you talked about and in the video pisses me off. No good.

I went to a job interview in CA, just north of San Fransisco, back in late 1990's.
Weather was nice. Beautiful scenery. But could not find an apartment to rent.
Every near-by apartment place I contacted was full, except for this super-expensive motel converted into apartments.
Glad they did not offer me a job. I have no idea where I would have lived.
Chris S. I grew up in southern California and moved to northern California at age 35 ( I am now 66). It depends on where you live as there are good areas and bad areas.
