Carburetor Float Valves / Seats : Testing Method

  • Step 1. Turn the carbies upside down, blow into the main fuel line (*use a clean fuel line / piece of hose attached to the original line .)
    Step 2. Listen for air escaping the float needle-valves or valve seats. (INDICATING A LEAK [BAD])
    Step 3. Repeat this procedure with the carburetor on its side and float bowl/valve assembly at its measurable float height . You should get the same result (no air escaping) with the floats at their set to the workshop-book specifications.
