So your tutorial inspired me...I just got my Cricut Joy and wanted to do an iron on for my grandsons. I was challenged a bit with the size of the image but looked carefully on your phone to know what icon to use. Your tute got me through my first iron on vinyl project! And it was a success!! 👏👏👍👍
Just subscribed. I just got a Cricut Joy the other day. My hubby surprised me since they were on sale for 99.00 and said hey babe why don’t you go get yourself a Joy. I was like, are you serious 🧐 babe? I thanked him so many times.
From what I have seen, you should have parchment paper on top of the transfer, and should be moving the easy press around. There is the heat guide that explains this. Just an FYI.
I would suggest giving it a minute or two, to cool down and then remove the clear sheet. I also think you should be moving the heat press around and evenly distributing the heat.
Hey, so when you use the smart iron on by itself it doesn’t do that? It’s just when you use the mat? maybe use a different setting to see if that helps.
I had the same problem. The Joy won’t print a font that I uploaded to design center. I think it has to be the fonts installed in the Joy itself. I had to just start over. I tried to import an image too, same thing, didn’t work.
@@debmo14 Hello, I haven’t had this issue. I know that fonts are saved per device, so if you are using a laptop and a desktop, you need to have the fonts in both of the devices to be able to use it.
@@jojobelashares Hi! I am glad to hear it! I had the cutest bunny ear font that I got from Dafont.com, going to put names on felt Easter baskets. Everything worked perfectly on my laptop, but then when it came to make it with the Joy, everything was perfect, except I got the 🚫 when I tried to make it! Uggh
I'm struggling so bad with my cicrut joy I'm trying to make 10 of my grandchildren their names for their Pjs I can't figure out the size I need to make for their name on the pocket of their pjs how do I do this please .I have the app which to me is extra confusing and I also have the desgin space on my laptop please someone give me answers thank you in advance
Hello, first I would suggest measuring the area you want to add the names to. Normally depending on how big the pjs are I would say probably 4” is a good start since I assume they are for your young grandchildren. You add the names in design space by clicking on the text option and selecting your font and typing in the names. Once you have the names you size it to the size you need it by clicking on the edit option and then once you done with that you hit continue and cut it. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Because you can make it as tall as you want as the height of the material is more then the width so you have a lot of space to work with, you would have to make sure it doesn’t look too stretched out so it will be your preference on that

Your very welcome! Thank you for watching 😁
Thank you for the tutorial....I'm new to this...
If I don’t have the easy press, can I use a home iron?
I personally haven’t try it but I have try the home iron for other items and it works so I would imagine it would work
When I use the smart iron on and put leftover scraps on a cutting mat, it won’t cut all the way though 😕 do you have a suggestion on wnat to do?
Hey, so when you use the smart iron on by itself it doesn’t do that? It’s just when you use the mat? maybe use a different setting to see if that helps.
Have you cleaned you're blade?
Can I use any size vinyl and cut it to fit the Cricut Joy
Yes, you would just have to use the mat since it won’t be smart vinyl.
@@jojobelashares thank you
Can you paint the canvas first then add this ?
I’m pretty sure you can, just let the paint dry for at least 24hrs before you apply the vinyl, good luck!
Hello! I can’t seem to get my Cricut joy to print anything from my design space... I need help! Thanks
Are you still having the same problem?
I had the same problem. The Joy won’t print a font that I uploaded to design center. I think it has to be the fonts installed in the Joy itself. I had to just start over. I tried to import an image too, same thing, didn’t work.
